MPH Posted 23 February 2009 Posted 23 February 2009 When i contacted the club about the song i also emailed it to the mercury with a link to the thead here on FT so they can see people's comments on it. The idea being if the club see the publicity that comes aong with the song then they are more likely to do somthing about it, wether its play it at a game, get the guy in to play it or release it for their chosen charity.. i dont know.. Anyway the mercury just emailed me back and told me that they will be doing an article on it for tuesday mercury.. so.. look out for it, and do whatever you guys can to get the club to do somthing about this awsome song! Also tell me what the article says as i am in the states right now
Hitesh Posted 23 February 2009 Posted 23 February 2009 Awesome! Well put together. Laughed a lot at the bit about DJ being offside!
davidhenson44 Posted 23 February 2009 Posted 23 February 2009 This is just a note to say thank-you to everyone for their kind comments on the song and to those of you who have made the club aware of it and also to update those of you interested on its progress. I’m genuinely overwhelmed by how popular the song has been and how many people seem to have enjoyed it… this time last week I would never have thought I’d be doing an interview for the Leicester Mercury about it! I have spoken with Peter Jones, the Supporter Relations Manager at LCFC and I’m really pleased to report that it looks like it will be played some time before kick-off at a forthcoming home game and potentially, regularly. Many thanks to anyone who has contacted the club… they now are well aware of it and I think Peter Jones’s inbox is ready for a rest! The song requires some minor alterations to the lyrics and also the audio quality needs to be improved for it to be played at the ground, so a new version will be recorded. I’ve been contacted by a City fan who works at a recording studio and he is generously going to help me with it. Whilst not wanting to deviate too far from the original, there may well be some drums/electric guitar/bass added. As I said, I’ll be making some small changes to the lyrics, if anyone has any opinions as to who, if anyone should also be included, let me know. I’m thinking possibly Banks/Shilton/Gary Mills and I’m also still keen to find a rhyme for Theo Zagorakis! Due to my work commitments and those of the studio, it may take a few weeks to get done but I’m hoping if all goes well, it’ll be ready for the Carlisle game at the Walkers on 4th April at the latest. Once again, thanks for your part in making the song so popular. I’ll post this message on a couple of the other forums so apologies if you read it twice. Dave
Fox in a Box Posted 23 February 2009 Posted 23 February 2009 Brilliant..... release it Id buy it.. Roberto mancini at filbert st...... the best lyric in it!

Dave Surely something along the lines of Greek God Zagorakis Martin Keown couldn't hack it heroes in blue and white... would probably fit

I'm assuming the DJ Campbell line is one, and the Ksinorbo distribution one.
fox123 Posted 23 February 2009 Posted 23 February 2009 Surely something along the lines of Greek God Zagorakis Martin Keown couldn't hack it heroes in blue and white... would probably fit That would take out one of the best parts of the song - 'Keown's pretty face'
MPH Posted 23 February 2009 Author Posted 23 February 2009 What changes need to be made? I'm assuming the DJ Campbell line is one, and the Ksinorbo distribution one. probably the martin keown one too... we all love it how it is, of course... but i guess we can understand if the club are to play it they need to be a little bit more sensitive to the players.
James. Posted 23 February 2009 Posted 23 February 2009 First time I've heard it. Absolutely brilliant. Seriously. One comment, please don't add electric guiitar, bass, drums, etc. I really think the acoustic guitar and vocal works just fine as it is.

This would make it singable

Sods Posted 23 February 2009 Posted 23 February 2009 Honestly think you should keep it as it is. Campbell isn't going to play for us again surely, your right about Zagorakis.

Joe. Posted 23 February 2009 Posted 23 February 2009 No idea how I missed this first time round, love it.
maddog Posted 23 February 2009 Posted 23 February 2009 Try to get Dabizas in there, that almost rhymes with Zagorakis. ISH Dont get rid of all the best bits though, like DJ, Savage, Junior Lewis, Sinclair etc.
lavrentis Posted 23 February 2009 Posted 23 February 2009 This is great news. Would love to hear it round the walkers!
dandannieldanok Posted 23 February 2009 Posted 23 February 2009 Great creation, love the bits about Junior Lewis and Mark de Vries.
GLC Posted 23 February 2009 Posted 23 February 2009 Great song Would love it played before every game
