Giovani - Ipswich

:o:blink:

Never quite understood why he never got into Spurs' team when they were in the shit. Great signing for a Championship club.

I remember at the start of the season being excited about Parejo signing for QPR. He was shit, and duly sent back.

Can't help but feel this will be a let down for Ipswich too.

Dos Santos is a different kettle of fish to Parejo. He is a top talent (i was in mexixo when he made his debut and the build up to the game purely focussed on him for 2 hours) who has as yet, not made the requisite breakthrough.

I reckon he'll ultimately end up a decent player for a Villarreal/Deportivo type side and even though his style of play might dictate not making it in England at the top level, this is a pretty large coup for a side like Ipswich.

Aye what Martyn said. Parejo's at a much different stage of his progression, really, he's still in the Castilla side and has yet to make any impact at Real at all - I don't know if he's even been registered to make his senior debut. :dunno:

Gio played almost a season's worth of games at Barca. Granted a lot of them as substitute appearances but he's had a fair bit of time in their first team for a lad of his age.

I am speechless! :o What a signing! How?!?!?

Was touted to become the next big thing at Barca but didn't quite happen but without a doubt he still has great potential.

Do Ipswich have that kinda money though?

Their owner Marcus Evans has a lot of cash.. so yep they do.. if they are willing to pay over £1m for Gaz McAuley they can certainly afford Gio for 8 games.

Looks like a clever move by Tottenham. Maybe they want to sell him at the end of the season, so to maximise profit they have loaned him to a team in the league below where the standard is not as high which will increase the likelihood for the player to shine, which then gains more media attention for his efforts on the pitch attracting more potential buyers. It's like a big fish in the pond situation.

Just a theory

Sounds about right, really. I think if they really wanted to develop him and get him used to the Premiership then a club like Stoke or West Brom would probably have bitten their hands off had they been offered.

He might be an uncut diamond but he's a diamond all the same and some of the Premiership's creativity-lacking teams could do with a gem like that.

Every team that has Ipswich left to play with instantly be alerted and will be all over him like a rash. Kicking him, closing him down. It'll be tough. He's not going down just to showboat.

Missed two one on ones earlier on according to Paul Merson 'HE'S ONLY 12 AND HE'S TRIED TO CHIP THE KEEPER!'

But just scored a 'great goal'.

Don't think they'd have been able to loan him now, seeing as they're Premiership, the loan rules are different I thought?

I can't see he'll get much media attention for cracking a few in against Blackpool. I've got more inches between my legs than the championship has in most of the national press.

Will be good experience for him though.
