Incident last week definitely has something to do with it.

And poor results I guess.

Surprised Lee Hughes is still at the club.

Related to that fighting incident the other week do we think? :dunno:

A bit baffled by this sacking, especially Oldham's current position in the league. Should've stuck with the guy, has done the club really good.

Short-sighted reaction, tbh.

All that is true, and therefore I think there is more than meets the eye about this, possibly to do with the bust up at a players bash a few weeks ago.

Joe Royle takes over.

I was keen on the idea when he was linked with us, but that isn't a bad appointment for Oldham IMO.

Also had issues with dean windass. Maybe he's lost the dressing room and yesterdays result just tipped things over the iceberg.

when the Oldham chairman or whoever was on SSN explaining the decision he said it had nothing to do with the incident at the dogs and was for footballing reasons.

Just outside the play-offs and he's sacked.

Either the chairman is lying or very demanding.

Apparently their performances have been down for a long time and they reckon that without the good start they'd be looking at between 16th/18th

They were on the slide and he'd obviously lost the dressing room, for this reason he had to go. The result against us was the straw that broke the Camel's back so to say.

I'm not sure they would've done anyway.

Posh/MK, Millwall, Leeds and Scunny (hopefully NOT in that order..) look more likely to complete the top six.

Isn't Royle still the last English manager to win the FA Cup?

Any way, besides that, I think he will do a decent enough job at Oldham.

Er, no.

Harry Redknapp took that record last year.

Er, Sorry!

Actually forgot Portsmouth even won anything last season, due to the shocking season they are having this.
