Bert Posted 16 March 2009 Posted 16 March 2009 Nigel Pearson's team have earned another place in Leicester City's record books.Saturday's 1-0 victory at Millwall was their 11th away success of the season, equalling the mark set in 1956-57 and 1970-71. Pearson's team have already set a club record of 23 league matches without defeat, a run which ended at Tranmere on Wednesday night. Saturday's win maintained City's healthy nine-point advantage at the top of League One and games are running out for the chasing pack. Pearson said: "At home, we have had to play differently because teams come and shut up shop. "Millwall beat us early in the season when they played very well and we didn't have the answers that day. "But we have done all right this season, both home and away, and I am very pleased." The Blue Army were claiming the League One title already after Saturday's victory but Pearson said: "It is a bit premature, a banana skin if ever there was one. "We have to maintain our own form and we can't rely on anyone else to get us over the line." Link.
C-man Posted 16 March 2009 Posted 16 March 2009 We really have been treated to a great season on the road. Let it continue.
Fez of Mahrez Posted 16 March 2009 Posted 16 March 2009 Most points away from home in the top four divisions in both England and Scotland I believe.
Koke Posted 16 March 2009 Posted 16 March 2009 Most points away from home in the top four divisions in both England and Scotland I believe. We also have the best goal difference in the country.
Matt Posted 16 March 2009 Posted 16 March 2009 Are we still the top team in the country, as in games played, points, goals, home and away tally? I would have thought so? I know on current form (The last few games) we would be right down, but over the season and the actual league we must one of the top teams in country in a whole league? Loving it. League One? Who gives a fook, We have new records. If only we could break the 100 points mark, which is still possible but IMO now very unlikely - Would mean we would have to win almost all our remaining games or reach and average of 2.37 points a game, Which is win 6 games, Draw 1 and Lose, Win, or Draw the remaining game....Hmmmm maybe not to unrealistic - Maybe the 100 points target is still on
lcfc81 Posted 16 March 2009 Posted 16 March 2009 Neck and neck with Wolves for first team in the country to ensure the playoffs, 6 points till its mathematically certain! Although automatic far more important.
Corky Posted 16 March 2009 Posted 16 March 2009 We've been very good away from home this year, mixing flair (Cheltenham, Scunthorpe, Walsall) with grit (Bristol Rovers, Millwall, Yeovil). It's all added up to a fine campaign on the road, only failnig to score in two out of 19 fixtures.
C-man Posted 16 March 2009 Posted 16 March 2009 Getting 100 points is still very much on, but it would require winning all our remaining home games. We've got three very winnable away ties too. We've got a chance.
Tubes Posted 17 March 2009 Posted 17 March 2009 League one, who gives a fook, we've set loads'a records and we're going back up.
JoeyB Posted 17 March 2009 Posted 17 March 2009 wont we break another one soon? most clean sheets? 16 so far in the league
C-man Posted 17 March 2009 Posted 17 March 2009 wont we break another one soon?most clean sheets? 16 so far in the league I thought Forest's keeper had 23 last season?
MC Prussian Posted 17 March 2009 Posted 17 March 2009 I thought Forest's keeper had 23 last season? According to last season's results, they kept 24 clean sheets in League One and conceded only 32 goals. So we can't beat that one, only get on par (at best). If we wanted to beat 32 goals against, that would mean not even conceding once in the remaining eight games. Tough. But possible.
foxaholic Posted 17 March 2009 Posted 17 March 2009 wont we break another one soon?most clean sheets? 16 so far in the league What about least losses in a season believe it is 5
