Legend_in_blue Posted 21 March 2009 Posted 21 March 2009 Warner - 6 - Not sure about their goal, could, perhaps should have got to it. Gilbert - 6 - Ok. Hobbs - 6 - Ok. Morrison - 6 - Ok. Mattock - 5 - Hoof. Gradel - 6.5 - At least he looked bothered. Oakley - 5 - Took a leaf out of Clemence's book today - terrible. King - 5 - Meh. Cleverley - 5.5 - He looked up for it, shame he got injured. Fryatt - 5 - Emphasised again today that he can only do the simple, in space and without any pace involved. Greedy. Hayles - 4.5 - Lose some weight. Subs: Dyer - 6 - Did have a go. Dickov - 6 - Good toe poke through the crowd. Terrible game, terrible performance, terrible end to the season at home... Three games at home to prove me wrong.

Thracian Posted 21 March 2009 Posted 21 March 2009 Warner 6.75 (I almost gave him a seven for his vital late saves but he did look dodgy at times). Gilbert 6.75 (Basially back to his old self) Morrison 5.5 (Not impressed. Gave the ball away and was rarely where the vital headers were needed). Hobbs 6 (See above. Should have made sure Mattock wasn't having to deal with the far post free-kicks because there was no way he was going to win them). Mattock 5.75 (Had some useful touches in attack second half but was exposed at the back post and should have demanded some assistance from one of the big fellows). Oakley 5 (Kept trying but his passing and control were unreliable) Cleverley 5 (Sounds like he dislocated his shoulder. Made little impression). King 6.25 (Faithfully tried to get the ball down and be constructive and though he didn't always deliver he did create three chances out of nothing which, sadly, he couldn't despatch. Decent defensively too in the main). Gradel 6.25 (Tried so hard in defence and attack but to no great effect, partly due to faulty control or bad passing and partly because he had so few decent passes from which to launch anything aggressive). Fryatt 5 (The two chances he had, he failed to take and otherwise he was a lighhtweight and a disappointment. Should have a penalty though). Hayles 3 (Sorry but I just couldn't see what he gave us). Substitutes: Dyer 6 (Almost combined with Fryatt for a goal soon after coming on and injected a bit of urgency for a while). Dickov 7 (Deserved his rating for plundering the equaliser and another vital point towards our target and for doing what strikers are paid for). Pearson: 6 (Predictable team but it looked so limited and so lacking in real energy and commitment. Timely substitutions though). Linesman and referee: awful. Colchester: deserved credit for being positive and trying to score some goals. Yeates trotting off instead of dawdling off was good to see too - and so was seeing him pass when he could have shot and won the game. The arsehole who ran onto the pitch: Send him Helmand Province if he wants some action and attention. Tw*t.
Guest ttfn Posted 21 March 2009 Posted 21 March 2009 Warner 8 - Amazing face save at the end. Nearly got to the free kick. Decent distribution too. Gilbert 7 - All round ok display. Morrison 5 - Never got to grips with Platt and Hawley Hobbs 4 - As above, but his incessant hoofing loses him a point Mattock 5 - Honestly didn't look bothered. Gradel 6 - Wasteful at times, but direct and unbelievably enough, some excellent tackling! Oakley 3 - The second worst individual display I've seen this season after Brown at Dons. Gave the ball away pretty much whenever he got it, and his set pieces were diabolical. King 4 - Was he on the pitch? Dyer 6 - Gave us a bit of a lift when he came on, but his finish was terrible at the end. Hayles 5 - Didn't do a lot, but had no service. Fryatt 4.5 - Had no service, held it up well, but a couple of poor finishes when he should have done better. Dickov 6.5 - Nice little finish, and got in some decent positions, but doesn't work hard anymore and offers little.

dandannieldanok Posted 21 March 2009 Posted 21 March 2009 Warner 6 (Couple of good saves but looked shaky, some strange decisions) Gilbert 7.5 (Strong in defence and looked to support attack often, best of bad bunch) Morrison 6 (Solid enough, hoofed too often as usual) Hobbs 6 (Didn't look completely comfortable but good enough to handle their strikers) Mattock 6 (Competent without really offering much to support the left-winger) Cleverley 5 (Didn't really have a touch before he went off) Oakley 5 (Disappointing, poor in possession and little fight or desire) King 5 (Anonymous, passenger for 60 mins) Gradel 7 (Cannot understand the decision to take him off, carried a good threat in a poor 1st half team performance) Hayles 3 (Shite, gave about 20 fouls away and couldn't head the ball, or control it, or pass it............) Fryatt 5.5 (Missed Howard's presence, still got into some decent positions) Dyer 6.5 (Faded after a bright start, lacked service and support to make a real impression) Dickov 6.5 (Scored but had no impression otherwise due to being played out-of-position)

eraserhead66 Posted 21 March 2009 Posted 21 March 2009 Warner - 8 (Would've lost the game without his saves) Gilbert - 7 Hobbs - 6 Morrison - 6 Mattock - 5 Gradel - 6 Oakley - 3 (Awful) King - 4 Cleverley - 5 Fryatt - 4 Hayles - 5 Dyer - 6 Dickov - 6 Officials - -10 (Inept is the kindest word) Stewards - -10 (Made the team look energetic with their effort to evict the pitch invader)
lcfcadam Posted 21 March 2009 Posted 21 March 2009 Weren't they just. But the terrible thing is that they weren't the worst we've had this season. Mmm, not sure about that. It was a pretty stunning(ly bad) display of officiating, and at least up there with the worst I've ever seen. Perhaps in May as an end of season special, player-ratings.com should do a poll for the worst officiated match of the season...
Bert Posted 21 March 2009 Posted 21 March 2009 Warner 7 - Kept us in the game. Cheekily got their guy booked. Gilbert 7 - Standard Gilbert. Mattock 6 - Started off really well, but faded like the game did. Morrison 5 - Kisnorbo please. Hobbs 6 - Seemed a bit on edge today, but still did ok. Cleverley 5 - In the time he was on, he didn't really make an impact. Gradel 7 - One of the few that looked up for playing the game today. Tried very hard to make things happen but it was one of them afternoons. King 5 - He played? Oakley 4 - Dogshit. Worse performance this season from him, touch, passing was here there and everywhere, couldn't get into the game. Fryatt 5 - Should've scored the first clear chance he had, Inept officials prevented the front two today. Hayles 5 - Constant fouling was his main contribution. Dickov 6 - Scored. Dyer 6 - Seen glimpses of the Dyer of old, should've scored.

clazkel Posted 21 March 2009 Posted 21 March 2009 Warner - 7 Some great saves, and great heading of the ball, but maybe should've done better with their goal Gilbert - 7.5 Defended well, looked interested, supported the attacks Morrison - 6 Struggled to cope with their forwards at times, and they didnt give them time on the ball Hobbs - 6 As above Mattock - 5.5 Didnt do alot Cleverly - 6 Wasnt on enough to make an impact, looked like he was about to go on a run when he was injured King - 6 Didnt really notice him, but at least he did try and keep the ball down Oakley - 5 Not a captains performance, seemed disinterested today Gradel -8 Tried, put in some great challenges Hayles - 6 Didnt do much, but didnt get much support Fryatt - As above Dickov - 7 Didnt think it was a good substitution at the time but it turned out to be a good move, he got involved and scored Dyer - 6 Alot of energy when he first come on, but it soon fizzled out
Koke Posted 21 March 2009 Posted 21 March 2009 Morrison 5 - Kisnorbo please. Morrison is the white Kisnorbo. He has inherited all the bad aspects of Kisnorbo's game, and at the same time he's no where as good as Kisnorbo on the positives when it comes to reading the game, aerial abilities, crunch tackles etc. I concur, Kisnorbo please.
lildave3 Posted 21 March 2009 Posted 21 March 2009 Gilbert my motm I guess. Gradel following. Or Warner.
FilboFox Posted 21 March 2009 Posted 21 March 2009 Warner 7.2 Gilbert 7.4 Morrison 7.1 Hobbs 6.7 Mattock 6.1 Gradel 7.3 Oakley 6.0 King 5.9 Cleverley 6.4 Fryatt 6.5 Hayles 5.4 Substitutes: Dyer 6.7 Dickov 6.9 ---------- It's clear where our problems lie... the midfield really needs a captain and a rejig before next season otherwise we'll be in trouble.
Webbo Posted 21 March 2009 Posted 21 March 2009 Oakley 6.1 Personally I thought Oakley deserved 6.147
FilboFox Posted 21 March 2009 Posted 21 March 2009 Personally I thought Oakley deserved 6.147 Changed it to 6.0... and the reason for those being with points is because of FM.
Father Ted Posted 21 March 2009 Posted 21 March 2009 Warner 8 - Great saves and was hilarious when he booted the ball at their player. Gilbert 7 - Star of our defence today. Hobbs 6.5 - Solid as always. Morrison 6 - Average Mattock 5 - Would much rather see Bruno play. Gradel 7 - Was good first half, shouldn't have been taken off (even though Dickov scored (Hayles should have gone off)) Oakley 4 - Worst game he's played this season. King 5 - What did he do? Cleverley 6 - Went off injured, trying to win the ball when nobody else wanted it. Got injured doing what King and Oakley should have been doing. Fryatt 5 - No chance with the long ball. Hayles 5 - Should have left a long time ago. Dickov 6 - Did nothing apart from score. Dyer 6.5 - A massive difference in the effort he put in today and previously. He may have returned back to reality finally?
reynard Posted 21 March 2009 Posted 21 March 2009 Warner 6 A couple of great saves but his command of the area was laughable. Does not appear able to catch the ball. Mattock 5 Generally very unimpressive. Hobbs 6 Solid but his long ball played right into their hands. Stuggled to cope with their no.9 Morrison 4 Very poor today. Seemed to struggle to stay with their attackers. nearly at fault for a mix up towards the end which the keeper had to head away. Gilbert 7 His pace saved us on more than one occassion. Thought he played well today. Gradel 6.5 Tried hard and did some good things but nothing really significant. Oakley 3.5 Rubbish. He is one of the few players we have who has experienced a promotion and we really need him to be at his best now but today was the oakley I have come to know over most of his career. King 4 Pretty typical King peformance. Does one or two good things but generally disappears for long periods of the match. I really think he has found is level. I jus hope I'm wrong but I really can't see him being of much use should we go up. Cleverley 6 Just about the only midfielder who seemed to want the ball. If he has dislocated his shoulder then he could be out for the season depending on the severity. Hayles 2 Foul/lose the ball/fall over/foul/foul. The guy is completely past it. Never got into a goal scoring position. Absolutely useless. Fryatt 5 No decent service but failed to make the keeper save on at least two occassions when he should have done so. Offered very little. Dickov 6 Looked quite lively and at least managed to score a crucial goal. Dyer 6.5 Worked hard and looked our most likely goal threat. Shame he has no decent right foot though. Soem glimpses of his earlier form.
leftsideoverhere Posted 21 March 2009 Posted 21 March 2009 Warner - 6 Some good saves and distribution, but his fear of catching the ball starting to worry me now Gilbert - 7 Best of a mediocre defensive display. At least he tried to play it out of defence, and didn't.. Morrison - 5 ... just... Hobbs - 6 ... fooking... Mattock - 5 ... hoof it to the Colchester back four all the time. Cleverley - 7 Showed a little fight before limping off King - 6 Mostly absent Oakley - 5 Absent Gradel -8 Best player on the pitch, tried things going forwards and back, but no result Hayles - 6 Didn't do much, but didn't get much ball Fryatt - 7 Got into space, chased balls and harried the defenders, but to no real effect Dickov - 7 Maybe he is finally fit again. Looked OK when he came on, and scored, but didn't create much. Dyer - 7 Much better than his recent performances, and beat a few defenders. Lacked the end product, but then who didn't? NP - 6 Quiet today, didn't even give much grief to the officials Crowd - 6 Good in parts, but so many miserable moaners, and no sign of the 'massive following' we're supposed to be getting for the closing games of the season.
Joe. Posted 21 March 2009 Posted 21 March 2009 Warner 7 - Can't argue with that today, pulled off some good saves to keep us in it. Gilbert 6.5 - A questionable first half in my opinion, but much better in the second. One of our better players. Hobbs 6 - Did nothing wrong. Morrison 6 - As with Hobbs, I couldn't fault his performance too much. Mattock 5 - Pretty uninspiring in all areas. Cleverley N/A Oakley 4 - Terrible. His set-pieces are beyond poor now and incredibly frustrating. Generally he did very little today and rarely lead by example. King 5 - Anonymous once again. Gradel 7 - Good when he was on. Bizarre substitution to take him off when he was arguably our biggest attacking threat at the time. Also did his fair share of donkey work defensively. Hayles 4 - Nothing from him today, we missed Howard. Never won a header, but was rarely given the chance to play to his strengths of holding the ball up for others. Fryatt 5 - Uncharacteristic performance from his really. Snatched at both his chances and should have scored the first. Subs: Dyer 6.5 - Pretty encouraging from Lloyd today. Worked hard and acted like he had a point to prove. Dickov 6 - Barely touched the ball. Not bad though, and scored.
