Daggers Posted 21 March 2009 Posted 21 March 2009 Oakley - turd Best player - subbed off for a motherfucker So glad the wife bought me 23 more of these for next season.
skinnydipper Posted 22 March 2009 Posted 22 March 2009 Warner 8 - made 3 or 4 good saves to keep us in it Gilbert 7 - energetic. Decent today going forward and defensively Morrison 6 - made some vital interceptions but poor distribution Hobbs 4 - I think Hobbs has really progressed this season but a poor game today IMO.Platt did him all ends up in the air and his failure to deal with their no 20 at the back post on a couple of free kicks led to good goal scoring opportunities for the opposition Mattock 5 - average defensively but all too often he made little difference as an attacking fullback Oakley 3 - poo, just poo. Sluggish, disinterested and too often second to the ball. And after week after week on the training ground how can his delivery be so poor. Surely we have better options for set pieces Cleverley 6 - little impact but didn't do much wrong. A player who would look a lot better with better players around him King 7 - a decent performance but hampered by little support from Oakley. Some say they didn't notice him but IMO King does a lot of work that isn't noticed.Got his foot in, rarely wasted possession and always available Gradel 7 - the energy and enthusiasm that was lacking from some. Tried to make things happen and made some good tackles Fryatt 6- huffed and puffed but lacking the sharpness of his pre christmas performances. Not helped by having Hayles alongside Hayles 4- one decent run and cross but that was it. Time to hang up the boots Bazza Substitutes: Dyer 6 - more like the Dyer of old Dickov 6- for the toe poke West stand linesman - 0 should be strapped into a suicide vest and sent into an empty field
SamL Posted 22 March 2009 Posted 22 March 2009 Warner 7 Gilbert 8 Hobbs 6 Morrison 6 Mattock 6 Oakley 6 King 6 Cleverley 6.5 Gradel 7 Fryatt 6 Hayles 6 Subs:- Dyer 6.5, Dickov 6.5
Guest ttfn Posted 22 March 2009 Posted 22 March 2009 Morrison is the white Kisnorbo. He has inherited all the bad aspects of Kisnorbo's game, and at the same time he's no where as good as Kisnorbo on the positives when it comes to reading the game, aerial abilities, crunch tackles etc.I concur, Kisnorbo please. With hindsight (a wonderful thing I know) it's staggering that given the size of Clive Platt, we didn't play Kisnorbo yesterday. I honestly don't think that it's an exaggeration to say that Kisnorbo is one of the best header's of the ball outside the top flight - the bloke never loses a header...

I don't think Hobbs and Morrison missed a header at all yesterday, certainly not in the first half. The only problems we had yesterday was when they passed the ball on the floor.

J.Lisemore Posted 22 March 2009 Posted 22 March 2009 Warner - 6 - Average. Gilbert - 7 - Worked hard and never gave up. Hobbs - 7 - Won a lot of headers considering how tall their striker was. Morrison - 6.5 - He does things well enough but looks a little bit shaky at times. Mattock - 6.5 - Not bad. Gradel - 7.5 - Gave everything. He just seems to have a rush of blood when it comes to the final ball etc. Oakley - 6 - Below par. King - Ok. Cleverley - Looked decent until injury. Fryatt - 5.5 - Simply nothing without Howard. Hayles - 5.5 - He trys but he just isn't good enough. Subs Dickov - 6.5 - Scored the all important goal and was much better than Hayles. Dyer - 6 - Not bad.
leicesterseddon Posted 22 March 2009 Posted 22 March 2009 Warner 8 - kept us in the game a few times. MOM Gilbert 7 - didn't do anything wrong...... but he's still a shite player Hobbs 7 - could have done better on a few occasions, otherwise reasonable Morrison 6 - got caught a few times Mattock 5 - has no right foot and can't cross a ball for shit. should have sold him last year - he's had enough chances Gradel 6 - didn't do too badly in the second half when he was on, otherwise pretty ineffective Oakley 6.5 - buzzed around a bit but didn't take control from midfield King 5.5 - he's had a great season but he did fook all yesterday Cleverly - 6.5 - looked busy but again didn't have enough of the ball to do anything worthwhile with it Hayles 5 - he tries but we all know he's shit Fryatt 4 - worst performance of the season. the reason he gets caught offside all the time is because he knows he's not quick enough to beat most defenders, even in this league. fluffed his one good chance.

Father Ted Posted 22 March 2009 Posted 22 March 2009 Are you kidding me?! Platt totally dominated them in the air Hobbs won every header - I've never seen him miss one but Morrison never wins one and for some reason often leaves it to Gilbert.
Corky Posted 22 March 2009 Posted 22 March 2009 Hobbs won every header - I've never seen him miss one but Morrison never wins one and for some reason often leaves it to Gilbert. Morrison won every header at Scunthorpe. For a relatively small guy he's good in the air.
Ultra Posted 22 March 2009 Posted 22 March 2009 Warner - 6* Gilbert - 5 Hobbs - 5 Morrison - 5 Mattock - 5 Cleverley - 5 Oakley - 4 King - 5 Gradel - 5 Hayles - 4 Fryatt - 5 Dyer - 5 Dickov - 5
Guest ttfn Posted 22 March 2009 Posted 22 March 2009 Hobbs won every header - I've never seen him miss one but Morrison never wins one and for some reason often leaves it to Gilbert. He didn't.
Ultra Posted 22 March 2009 Posted 22 March 2009 Platt bossed our defence in the air yesterday. Only poor finishing and good saves allowed them to get away with it.
Bert Posted 22 March 2009 Posted 22 March 2009 Platt bossed our defence in the air yesterday. Only poor finishing and good saves allowed them to get away with it. Another reason why I think we need Kisnorbo back. He's solid in the air.
Koke Posted 23 March 2009 Posted 23 March 2009 Morrison won every header at Scunthorpe. For a relatively small guy he's good in the air. Is Morrison small? I swear he looks at the very least 6'0'' to me.
