Matt Posted 21 March 2009 Posted 21 March 2009 Would have liked to see them beat Arsenal but at the same time would quite enjoy seeing Newcastle in the Championship. I'd be tempted in making the trip up to Newcastle next year, Hopefully (Both ways, i.e - They come down AND We go up).
syston_fox Posted 21 March 2009 Posted 21 March 2009 They won't go down. They'll be like Southampton and Coventry when they were in the premiership - keep flirting with relegation but always pull it out of the bag.

stevie909 Posted 21 March 2009 Author Posted 21 March 2009 1. Lavrentis 2. Stevie And have you seen their run-in? theyre definitely gonna need two victories at stoke and middlesboro fo' sho.
maddog Posted 21 March 2009 Posted 21 March 2009 Just need Boro to win a few games and its over for Newcastle. Boro play at Bolton then Hull at home next 2 games. Newcastle play Arsenal and Chelsea next 2 games, then Stoke away which is just as tough as Arsenal and Chelsea at home IMO, Stoke have been awesome at home. And they also play Villa and Liverpool away in their last few games. With Pompey at home and Boro who will both be fighting for survival. Newcastle are down.

Newcastle played Arsenal tonight and lost.
syston_fox Posted 21 March 2009 Posted 21 March 2009 Newcastle are down. I just can't see it happening. Pompey, Boro and Fulham at home are all very winnable. Wouldn't put it past them to get draws at Liverpool and Villa either.
Koke Posted 22 March 2009 Posted 22 March 2009 I'd like Boro to stay up. Their youth academy is to be admired and Steve Gibson is one of the best chairmen in the country. Good club who know their limitations and their level. Middlesbrough FC have given a lot back to the game, whereas Newcastle has been nothing but a laughingstock. I couldn't care less if they ceased to exist.
Tilley Posted 22 March 2009 Posted 22 March 2009 They played very well against Arsenal last night & should have got something out of the match. They can take positives out the performance, I hope/think they will stay up.
CosbehFox Posted 22 March 2009 Posted 22 March 2009 Interested to know Arsenal's allocation. Looked like they moved the fans and you could certainly here them when the 2nd and 3rd went.
Edmund Posted 22 March 2009 Posted 22 March 2009 Financially they will be fooked if they go down. Owen and Viduka are out of contract in the summer though can't see them sticking around to much longer, especially with the silly wages owen is on. At least Pearson will be able to get one up on his old team next season.
Hitesh Posted 22 March 2009 Posted 22 March 2009 I will be there and it will be funny to see them in the Championship next season! Mike Ashley
Ultra Posted 22 March 2009 Posted 22 March 2009 Not forgetting their executive director (football)...
Bert Posted 22 March 2009 Posted 22 March 2009 Not forgetting their executive director (football)... I thought he'd been sacked/left? Or did I dream that?

Head Honcho Posted 22 March 2009 Posted 22 March 2009 £50 return flights for me so count me in I remember going to see us beat Newcastle at St James in the 80's. A wet tuesday or wednesday and miserable as fvck apart from the result. 4-1 to us if I remember rightly and there were nearly as many Leicester fans as newcastle fans there. Sleeping giants
Ultra Posted 22 March 2009 Posted 22 March 2009 I remember that game. The City turnout was about 200.. The geordies turned on their team big-time that night..
Head Honcho Posted 22 March 2009 Posted 22 March 2009 I remember that game. The City turnout was about 200..The geordies turned on their team big-time that night.. Maybe it just sounded like we had more then I was living in Edinburgh at the time and had to travel back with a train full of geordie squaddies based in the castle-piss take city I can tell ya.
lcfc_jme Posted 23 March 2009 Posted 23 March 2009 Hmm.. Newcastle away.. Would be tempted as long as the away fans weren't put up in the Gods as is the norm. Not the greatest place to be an away fan, much like Brighton.
