Finnegan Posted 5 April 2009 Posted 5 April 2009 Ys the councils and the government are either scared stiff to stand up for our traditions or they hate them so much they can't wait to see them disappear. To be fair. Kabaddi or Morris Dancing? I know what I'd rather watch.
Finnegan Posted 5 April 2009 Posted 5 April 2009 Which bits? So we can take you away from your family, your people, your loved ones and your friends and treat you like a sub-human; we can take away your individual rights and put you to work doing all the jobs we don't want to do - just as long as we give you a bit of a comfier bed and some nicer nosh than you're getting now? That's got to be one of the silliest things you've posted to date. But, yanno, what do I know? I just post shit, right Webbo?
Guest Posted 5 April 2009 Posted 5 April 2009 Thanks Lisa.... once I heard it was safe for me to post on here without being harrassed off by "you know who" - as has happened on other forums! I thought Id give it a go. Seems a great forum - wish Id have known about it months ago. See you at Hereford probably! The only person you have to worry about on here is Daggers, and his sexy protest threat. I'll let you know details of pubbage once I have them Welcome Lou. Phew. The reason that happens is because not enough people fight hard enough to defend our traditions. If people who denied us our traditions were put on trial for acting against the interests of English culture that would soon be the end of it. That would be correct if the traditions that people are calling for actually existed. All this St George's Day business is beginning to grate; as far as I am aware, it was never traditionally celebrated, yet now everyone seems to be up in arms that we aren't being allowed to celebrate it! This isn't really the case, though. Ok, we don't get a day off work, but seriously, if you wanted to decorate your house with flags, nobody is going to arrest you. It's not like they do when an English team are in a major tournament, and people try to show their support.
davieG Posted 5 April 2009 Posted 5 April 2009 Sorry but what a load of bullshit. Actually I'd say quite a lot of that is true. The big difference though was the 'slaves' weren't free to leave although in reality your average peasant in Europe couldn't afford to leave whatever shit-hole they were living in.
Phube Posted 5 April 2009 Posted 5 April 2009 I prejudge people subconciously but it's rarely, if ever, race related. It's usually on appearance which is admittedly fairly close. But I'm sorry, when you live in a rough London borough like Haringey and you spend all your time out-and-about after dark - having been mugged, followed, threatened and abused - you learn to take a wide arc around anyone who even vaguely looks like trouble. I've never thought to myself "oh Christ there's a blackman I best be careful" but I have on numerous occasions thought "there's three kids loitering around in that alley with their hoods up who clearly think they're Bad Like Fiddy, I'm taking another route." Racist? I don't think so. Prejudice? we all are, it's just we all have different triggers - not everyone's is race. This ^^^ most closely represents my own opinion. I'm not racist but I'm undoubtedly prejudice towards some people/groups. Although I do try hard not to judge on initial appearances/preconceived views, it can be difficult not to at times. So we all agree with my original post...?

Actually in that period yes a lot of people suffered like that under the ruling classes of Europe , they weren't slaves but they were as good as.
Finnegan Posted 5 April 2009 Posted 5 April 2009 And that didn't happen to the poor in Europe? ... and that's your justification for the slave trade?
Webbo Posted 5 April 2009 Posted 5 April 2009 ... and that's your justification for the slave trade? I never said Slavery was justified.
Alexikokopops Posted 5 April 2009 Posted 5 April 2009 ... and that's your justification for the slave trade? I think it's his justification of "why haven't they got over it" yet
Edmund Posted 5 April 2009 Posted 5 April 2009 Which bits? I don't even know where to begin. Being cramped and stuffed in boxes whilst be transported across ships is a better life than being able to walk free? fook it im not even going to get into this and refuse to argue on this subject as it is completly off topic and you my friend need to do some history lessons before you spout shit like that.
Finnegan Posted 5 April 2009 Posted 5 April 2009 I think it's his justification of "why haven't they got over it" yet Oh right, fair play. Yeah what a whinging bunch of wimps. It was well over five years ago, they should have forgotten all about it by now. <_<

Finnegan Posted 5 April 2009 Posted 5 April 2009 I love the fact that, after gambling Wendy Richards' death, you were nice enough to put a quick RIP in your sig. Classy man, Phube.

Webbo Posted 5 April 2009 Posted 5 April 2009 I'm so sick of this ' my ancestors were more oppressed than yours' arguments. I'm sure Finners could tell us of a battle 800 years ago where the English raped and pillaged his people. No ethnic group is blameless, but the world's moved on. There are laws against discrimination. I honestly believe that people will never improve their circumstances while they blame others for their plight.

Thracian Posted 5 April 2009 Posted 5 April 2009 I put it down to a lack of education I dont care whether the parents are racist or not. Its no excuse. Are you saying the muslims should spend more on education or perhaps the labour politicians which are sometimes one and the same? Because the anti-white racism and white victimisation in this country, particualrly by people in authority, is appalling.

I honestly believe that people will never improve their circumstances while they blame others for their plight. I can give you plenty of examples of the English oppressing the Welsh, yes. I don't harp on about them to my English friends, however, no. Why? Because I don't believe it's particularly constructive and I like the guys. But I do think it's important that we remember our histories and the plentiful examples of ill treatment of each other. You shouldn't forget the mistakes of the past and you absolutely, ABSOLUTELY, should not be turning around and telling the black population to just get over the slave trade because it was so long ago. Part of moving on is accepting that something ill has happened and working hard to make sure it dosn't happen again - not sweeping it under the carpet.
