lavrentis Posted 6 April 2009 Posted 6 April 2009 Glasses are a ballache, contact lenses are worse. Laser eye surgery is the future. I would love the confidence to get that done. Don't they burn your eyes, I know you cant feel it but is it scary?
StanSP Posted 6 April 2009 Posted 6 April 2009 Glasses are a ballache, contact lenses are worse. Laser eye surgery is the future. If done right yes. Heard stories where if done wrong, you get loadsa crusty shit round your eyes. I would love the confidence to get that done. Don't they burn your eyes, I know you cant feel it but is it scary? My teacher had laser eye surgery in one eye, he said he got put on anesthetic, but he could still feel the laser onto his eyes. Obviously he couldn't do anything about it. he said it was painful obvs, but in the long-term it did him good

Afterwards, it felt like it does when you've been wearing your contacts for too long. The next morning, apart from feeling a bit dry still, my eyes were fine, and eyesight more than perfect. I have had no problems since. Some people do have to wear special glasses if driving at night, but I don't even have that!!

I have had no problems since. Some people do have to wear special glasses if driving at night, but I don't even have that!! in theory, glasses (and i currently i wear them) are actually bad for your eyes - essentially, the reason we are near or far sighted is because the muscles are either too tense or too loose, but like any muscle you can train them to function correctly... it's all a bit conspiracy theory, but... the eye 'industry' will have you believe that the muscles cannot be corrected, but apparently this is bullshit...why would an optitician educate people about training to improve eyesight when they can sell them glasses for the rest of their lives, think about it, eh... anyway, i haven't worn either of my (distance or computer) glasses today, and had it not been for this thread i wouldn't have even noticed, yes it's still blurry but as i am only shortsighted in my (dominant) right eye, sometimes i am seeing much better than when i believed that my eyes were just plain and simple fucked.... oh, and yes, re: GWG
