Ultra Posted 12 April 2009 Posted 12 April 2009 Last night I lost my blackberry (for the THIRD time in two weeks) on the way back from Hereford. Fortunately two City fans found it and drove all the way from Nuneaton to Leicester to give it me back. :worship: They were well rewarded for their efforts.

Two mint humbugs and "a shiny penny for your trouble!" is not well rewarded in the 21st century Ultra
Daggers Posted 12 April 2009 Author Posted 12 April 2009 Losing a Blackberry is probably one of the best things to do with it.
Hullfox Posted 12 April 2009 Posted 12 April 2009 I get paid expenses. From the Leicestershire FA Site Do I get paid?Referees get paid £28 per match for open age football, and for U16-U18 games. £23 for U13-U15 and £23 for U11 & U12. Minisoccer pays £13 per match. This includes games refereed as part of the course, so it really pays to be a referee! At £28 per game I could ref in Leicester for expenses and still be quids in. You quite obviously are seeking and receiving reward for reffing.

Bellend Sebastian Posted 14 April 2009 Posted 14 April 2009 I was given £1 too much change in a shop today, and promptly handed it back. Nothing remarkable there (it's not mine, after all) but I was a bit taken aback by the reaction of the two staff members present, who acted as if this was an act of selflessness akin to taking a bullet for someone. Is it really that unusual?
Jon the Hat Posted 14 April 2009 Posted 14 April 2009 Always nice to see someone doing a good turn. Presumably had their been a picture of a dog off the lead on the phone instead of a cute chick Daggers would have chucked it in a ditch on the way home...
James. Posted 14 April 2009 Posted 14 April 2009 I posted this ages ago. Still not sure whether I regret not taking the money... The Scenario:I'm standing in Canary Wharf tube station on my way to the Watford game last night queueing for some cash. The woman in front of me is taking awhile so I peer over to see what she's doing and notice she is taking out £400. Finally she gets on with it but the next time I look she has gone and £400 is sticking out the dispenser like the Holy Grail I've been searching for in the LCFC forum. Without really even thinking I grab the money and run after the woman. However the woman I thought it was isn't the right one. So there I am standing in the middle of the station with £400 in my hand. What do I do? Again, without really thinking I turn around and give it to a couple of policemen standing next to me. They put it in an evidence bag and thank me for my honesty. I suggest an announcement over the station tannoy and then off I go. The Dilemna: What would you have done? As soon as I walked away from the police I kind of regretted not taking it! All I got out of the whole event was a thank you from a copper and a clear conscience. However I could have been £400 better off! I admire my own honesty and the fact my natural reaction was to give the money back to its owner but looking back I almost wish I'd just taken it and had one hell of a good time. Hmm...

You have to pay for your kit, your flags, whistle, notebook, boots etc. All of my referee kit has come to: £688.78

DB11 Posted 14 April 2009 Posted 14 April 2009 No pair of spectacles? My mum pays for the contact lenses. Though my glasses are free ones that you get if you're under 16 (hence I've had them like over a year and they're all bent )
