Cropwellfox Posted 13 April 2009 Posted 13 April 2009 Funny thing is that a few weeks ago Peterborough fans were not only talking about piping us to tittle but us falling out of the auto spots all together!Funny how things change with three games to go they could seriously mess up there chances! As for the result what a great 4 days hey!! ...and it all started with our second favourite team's equaliser at Peterborough on Friday.
20mj08 Posted 13 April 2009 Posted 13 April 2009 forget eggs....id take 3 points against leeds and borough loosing any day
Daggers Posted 13 April 2009 Posted 13 April 2009 As long as LCC don't offer us a fcking parade around the City, I'll be happy wherever they give us the trophy! Let's win it, stick it in the trophy cabinet and then forget we were ever in this poxy division Have you been to any away games this season? I'm not having a pop - simply asking because I don't see how anyone who has been to most of our away games can say that. This season has been bloody marvellous. I've enjoyed every single away match and most of the home ones. I'll celebrate this, celebrate it and talk about it for years to come.

Ive loved this season - not to say Im delighted to be out of it, but is been great and weve seen some new grounds and made some new friends along the way. I'll never forgot some of the away days this season. (Im gonna cry in a minute) I also think its been the making of the club in some ways.
Salieri Posted 13 April 2009 Posted 13 April 2009 What a difference a few days make! Happy Easter everyone!
Corky Posted 13 April 2009 Posted 13 April 2009 Great day- slightly disappointed about the Dons but couldn't have asked for much more. Let's do it at Southend- wrap up both and then enjoy the last two matches. It'd be great to finish on 98 points.
Benji Posted 13 April 2009 Posted 13 April 2009 Is Fryatt thick as sh1t or does he really just not want to be there? He sounds like he is fortunate to be a decent footballer

This season has been bloody marvellous. I've enjoyed every single away match and most of the home ones. I'll celebrate this, celebrate it and talk about it for years to come. Spot on. There has been something about the away days that just won't feel the same in the Championship next season. The fans have been friendly, decent people who you can share a drink and enjoy well-meaning friendly banter with. Try doing that at Forest and Coventry next season. Last May, many of us were expecting this division to be a living hell to be escaped immediately, a graveyard for formerly great clubs. 11 months later, I can honestly say I'm going to miss aspects of it. Incredibly happy that we've achieved something that Forest, Leeds or Sheffield Wednesday couldn't do and looking forward to the Championship and the rivalries that will come with it, but knowing that we're all going to miss the likes of Cheltenham and Hereford.

I know- Dons, Bristol Rovers, Southend, Peterborough, Huddersfield, Cheltenham at home were all great. Orient, Col U, Huddersfield, Scunthorpe, Hartlepool, Bristol Rovers, Millwall, Hereford for the memorable away days I've been to. I've enjoyed this season so much.

Probably no more than two points, I just don't see us ending the season on a run of five straight wins. 96 points would still be a fantastic return for the season, and 4 more than the Swansea side that have performed so admirably in the Championship this season could muster before us.
Ultra Posted 13 April 2009 Posted 13 April 2009 Matty's expert analysis has me riveted. He's obviously studying at the Alan Shearer school of punditry..

I see no reason why we can't win all three. Southend are decent but beatable, Scunthorpe we've beaten already in harder circumstances and Crewe are a struggling side.
Part Of The Crowd Posted 13 April 2009 Posted 13 April 2009 I know what you mean about missing aspects of this division, I still miss some of the away days in League 2. Accy Stanley is one of the most fun away days ever, Morcambe have perhaps the best fans in the world. Most of the clubs down in these leagues have character that you don't find in some of the bigger clubs. I hope they all get their days of glory in the years to come.
Munzie Posted 13 April 2009 Posted 13 April 2009 Matty's expert analysis has me riveted. Where was the studio? I have a feeling it was in the back of the Sky truck parked at the Walkers. And why did the presenter feel the need to change ties in between our game and this one?!?

It would be amazing to end the season like that and I'd love to see us topping the table with 98 points.

This season has been bloody marvellous. I've enjoyed every single away match and most of the home ones. I'll celebrate this, celebrate it and talk about it for years to come. No, as I said in a thread the other day, the one thing I miss these days is away games (working saturdays and thus having no ST, I have to pick & choose) and the atmosphere that's often lacking at home games. Don't get me wrong, winning week in week out has been great, being top has been great and the boys have restored some of the pride that's been chipped away over the last 6 years but aside from the turnaround in fortunes, I hate seeing our club up against the Herefords and Stockports every week. I want to get out of here and see us compete against the Championship clubs again because we really should be challenging in that league and trying to get ourselves amongst that second tier of clubs in the Prem. To sum it briefly, I'm basically saying I can't wait to be back at a higher level again. No offence taken, btw.
Matt Posted 13 April 2009 Posted 13 April 2009 Did we ever find out the best points total in this league? I know we were on to break the 100 point mark, but I know when that was being discussed we weren't sure on what the record was.
Mickey O'Neil Posted 13 April 2009 Posted 13 April 2009 Morcambe have perhaps the best fans in the world. They'd have to go some to be better than Cheltenham!
Part Of The Crowd Posted 13 April 2009 Posted 13 April 2009 They'd have to go some to be better than Cheltenham! I know the Cheltenham fans are good, 'The Wymans' are absolutely brilliant. But Morecambe are just in a league of their own, great fun, nice people that you can share a drink with. The only fans I've ever seen play beachball with home fans over the segregation aswell . Plus my favourite post last game of the season moment ever was with them last season. We all had this massive barbeque by a lake and one of them who'd come in a wetsuit ran and did a massive bomb into the lake and did a lap of the Island in there. Quality set of fans, if you draw them in a cup you'll see what I mean

Up in the hundreds, according to the FL site, not quite sure which divisions these stats refer to as they've been renamed but we're a way behind whichever way. Source
lcfc_jme Posted 13 April 2009 Posted 13 April 2009 fooking Gary Alexander. What an absolute twat. "Yeah I'll stick a quid on Gary Alexander first goalscorer"!! Brilliant day. Fellaini was a beast. MILLLLLLLLLLLLLLL
