Babylon Posted 22 April 2009 Posted 22 April 2009 Been sacked by Ipswich. Personally I'm delighted because I thought the guy was a complete knob jockey, the way he constantly talked openly about wanting to sign other teams players, like McAuley. See ya toss pot.
Fosse Boy Posted 22 April 2009 Posted 22 April 2009 After they just beat Norwich 3-2? No pleasing anyone nowadays is there?
maddog Posted 22 April 2009 Posted 22 April 2009 What a stupid sacking. He has done a fantastic job there, last season they only missed a play off place by a point and in Jims first season he guided them to 12th. Now he's been sacked with them in 9th. What a joke, surely Ipswich don't expect to be much higher, clearly their chairman does for some reason

maddog Posted 22 April 2009 Posted 22 April 2009 Gave him plenty of money to spend though... most probably why. Theres so many good teams in that league now though. And there will be one fantastic team there next season
Darkzzz_ Posted 22 April 2009 Posted 22 April 2009 Very harsh in my opinion. Thought he done a great job there. If we don't win the league next season expect Pearson to be sacked.
welck12 Posted 22 April 2009 Posted 22 April 2009 This was always coming; albeit it you would have assumed the end of the season. The way that the chief exec (i think it was) was talking last night on SSN, he refused to give him his backing and said that everyones position was going to be reviewed; or something aloing them lines
Koke Posted 22 April 2009 Posted 22 April 2009 That's what happens when you spend £1.5m on average player like McAuley. Thanks for the money, Jim. Sorry you got the boot though.
Bryn Posted 22 April 2009 Posted 22 April 2009 They've spent £12m and got nowhere, that's why, apparently he's been dogshit.
Koke Posted 22 April 2009 Posted 22 April 2009 His voice is hugely irritating. I'm delighted I won't have to listen to him anymore.
Monk Posted 22 April 2009 Posted 22 April 2009 Seems a bit harsh but clearly mid table championship clubs have big ambitions these days. Will be interesting to see who they get, hope they don't come snuffling for truffles down our neck of the woods.

Alexikokopops Posted 22 April 2009 Posted 22 April 2009 I imagine the Ipswich board expected at least a play-off finish in his three years in charge given the amount he's spent.
TrickyTrev Posted 22 April 2009 Posted 22 April 2009 I imagine the Ipswich board expected at least a play-off finish in his three years in charge given the amount he's spent. And so they should to. Its not a stupid sacking. It is at a time of year when they have nothing to play for, it means they can get a manager in early for next season who can buy his players before pre-season starts. £1.5m on Gareth McAuley? The guy clearly had no idea how to spend the money.

They finished 15th just before he came, but in the three seasons before that they finished higher than he's managed so far, and before that they were in the Premiership.
C-man Posted 22 April 2009 Posted 22 April 2009 He's a moaning twat too. I bet he'll go back to NI now, there won't be another job available for him here.
Ultra Posted 23 April 2009 Posted 23 April 2009 That will add even more spice to the Championship next year..
wirralsimon Posted 23 April 2009 Posted 23 April 2009 Keane poised for Ipswich jobLink Explains why they sacked Magilton now rather than the end of the season! Simon
