Great goal from Essien, and Chelsea deserve it to be honest. That early goal was the best thing that could have happened to Chelsea, because it means they can do what they're very good at and protect the lead now. As soon as they got the goal it became the first leg all over again, 10 men behind the ball.

And it's working. Barca lack ideas, and everytime Messi get's the ball it's miles from goal. Barca are best at the intricate football, findings gaps and such, but they've got no chance with this packed and well organised defence.

Can't see this changing now...

It was alright, to be fair, as Man Utd - Chelsea games go.

But do you really want to see the same two teams playing again? :unsure:

I know you're biased because you like Chelsea but I'm really excited about the prospect of Utd vs Barca in the final. I think those two teams, after the seasons they've had, would make for an absolutely cracking final.

Yeah, I know what you mean. If anyone came and played like that at the Walkers we would all go mad. Even the Chelsea fans amongst us.

No complaints this end, I think Chelsea are doing what they have to do, they are nowhere near as good as Barcelona, but it is all about winning the game and no matter how ugly it is Chelsea are producing the goods at the moment, If it remains the same, United will sort them out again in the final... :)

I think Messi has done ok considering, he has had Cole every time and Terry for that matter. Cole is just chasing his shadows all over the pitch. But Barcelona just can't get the ball to him.

There was definitely a non-Spanish good one when I was looking earlier. I'd go back and check them when the match has re-started again.

I think no Puyol, Marquez and Henry is playing it's part as well. Puyol is the heart of the Barca team.

I know what you mean. Henry is a big miss, Marquez even bigger. As much as I love Puyol because he is a catalan boy, he is very error prone.

On the link you sent there were several Chelsea vs Barca links, I clicked on the first one which was the only "Football" one. It's a good feed but it's got Spanish comentary (not that this bothers me TOO much but still. I am grateful by the way Joe.)

Also true but you had to love it when he scored against Madrid on the weekend. The sheer joy he showed when jumping in the air with his barca captain armband and kissing it in front of the Madrid fans.

Im guessing Henry would have started if fit? As I remember at the start of the season he was making sub appearances but seems back to his best.

Yeah did love that from Puyol.

Henry has been top draw this season, not as good as his Arsenal days but half of that is still top drawer.

Chelsea should be 2-0 up.
