Koke Posted 5 May 2009 Posted 5 May 2009 Difficult for the ref. He doesn't have the benefit of replay. At first sight it looked a clear cut penalty.
Nugent Posted 5 May 2009 Posted 5 May 2009 ? I think he may be referring to when Man Utd got a pen against Spurs.
MC Prussian Posted 5 May 2009 Posted 5 May 2009 Denied a clear goal scoring opportunity so if he gives the foul he has to send him off right? Clear goal-scoring opportunity? Perhaps. Was Fletcher the last ManU player in line? No. Harsh decision on the Darren, as seen from my TV point of view.
Joe. Posted 5 May 2009 Posted 5 May 2009 Can it be rescinded? Nope, only mistaken identity can be appealed on.
Darkzzz_ Posted 5 May 2009 Posted 5 May 2009 Difficult for the ref. He doesn't have the benefit of replay. At first sight it looked a clear cut penalty. From that view, your right. It did.
Matt Posted 5 May 2009 Posted 5 May 2009 Can it be rescinded? Fergie's just asked the 4th official, but pitcheside reporter has just said UEFA have said there will be no appeal, only in the case of mis-identity.
Salieri Posted 5 May 2009 Posted 5 May 2009 It's a bit daft that there isn't an appeal system whereby red cards can be rescinded.
Benji Posted 5 May 2009 Posted 5 May 2009 Not being able to appeal is absolute bull crap, how hard would it be for the ref to hold is hands up after and have UEFA rescind it. You could see the ball change direction a mile away. He's been whistle happy all day.
dandannieldanok Posted 5 May 2009 Posted 5 May 2009 I think Clive Tyldsley (sp) is going to cry in a minute
Matt Posted 5 May 2009 Posted 5 May 2009 I think Clive Tyldsley (sp) is going to cry in a minute He really has got such a whiney voice.
Darkzzz_ Posted 5 May 2009 Posted 5 May 2009 I agree, he is a decent ref as well and has had nightmare moment, surely UEFA can see sense in this? NOT!
James. Posted 5 May 2009 Posted 5 May 2009 Personally I don't give a shit about Fletcher. Overall though Man United have been a class apart, reflected in the table where they could go 15 points clear of Arsenal if they win their game in hand. This result shouldn't really be much of a surprise. Oh, and ITV are a bunch of nobs.
Tevez Posted 5 May 2009 Posted 5 May 2009 Been brilliant tonight, didn't deserve the red. Hope he gets to play in the final. He's had a far better season than Fabregas.
Samilktray Posted 5 May 2009 Posted 5 May 2009 Personally I don't give a shit about Fletcher. Couldnt agree more.
dandannieldanok Posted 5 May 2009 Posted 5 May 2009 Ref's been crap all night but this decision is brilliant lol
City_4_Life Posted 5 May 2009 Posted 5 May 2009 One congratulation for Arsenal, the pitch looks in brilliant condition for this stage of the season. Maybe the F.A. should take notice.
Matt Posted 5 May 2009 Posted 5 May 2009 They're here, they're there, they're every f**king where, they're empty seats
Darkzzz_ Posted 5 May 2009 Posted 5 May 2009 I too hate ITV. I wonder if there is a facebook hate group?
Salieri Posted 5 May 2009 Posted 5 May 2009 Reading through this thread again, i've gotta agree with Davie in that some of you are a little too vociferous in your support or malice towards either of these teams. I watch loads of football but the only team i can be passionate about are Leicester. I couldn't give a shit about either of these teams but watch the match purely as a spectactle.
Joe. Posted 5 May 2009 Posted 5 May 2009 Piece of piss as expected for me, the gulf in class displayed once again. United take some beating in this competition, they're such an incredibly effective team. I'd love to see Barca get through tomorrow night, despite last season's horrible semi-final between the two sides. The final's not over two legs, so they're both going to have to go for it to win.
