Uncle Albert Posted 5 May 2009 Posted 5 May 2009 Reading through this thread again, i've gotta agree with Davie in that some of you are a little too vociferous in your support or malice towards either of these teams. I watch loads of football but the only team i can be passionate about are Leicester. I couldn't give a shit about either of these teams but watch the match purely as a spectactle. Bore off. Ronaldo and Fletcher were immense! Darren Fletcher should feel hard done by, the Ref had a mare all night. Let's see if Messi can produce the stuff like Ronaldo did tomorrow night!
Fez of Mahrez Posted 5 May 2009 Posted 5 May 2009 Chin up Fletch. Get yourself a comfy seat with a decent view. At least this way you'll be able to watch Barcelona tear your team-mates apart without having to break sweat yourself.
Joe. Posted 5 May 2009 Posted 5 May 2009 Ronaldo willget idolised for that goal again tonight, but Almunia should have saved it.
dandannieldanok Posted 5 May 2009 Posted 5 May 2009 Ronaldo willget idolised for that goal again tonight, but Almunia should have saved it. I'd love the interviewer to ask about his numerous injuries he picked up during the night.
martyn Posted 5 May 2009 Posted 5 May 2009 Feel sorry for Fletcher, a ref has screwed over his opportunity to play in the final of Europe's premier competition with a ridiculous decision. Hope Barca kill Chelsea tomorrow.
Koke Posted 5 May 2009 Posted 5 May 2009 Ronaldo willget idolised for that goal again tonight, but Almunia should have saved it. Out of the 100 free kicks he takes, he hits 90 of them into the wall.
Salieri Posted 5 May 2009 Posted 5 May 2009 Bore off.Ronaldo and Fletcher were immense! Darren Fletcher should feel hard done by, the Ref had a mare all night. Let's see if Messi can produce the stuff like Ronaldo did tomorrow night! You say "bore off" then waffle on about stuff completely irrelevant to my post! If you don't agree with what i said then fine, but at least try to come up with a counter argument.
lildave3 Posted 5 May 2009 Posted 5 May 2009 I could of saved that Ronaldo free-kick with me head Well probably not.
Darkzzz_ Posted 5 May 2009 Posted 5 May 2009 ITV - Big players for big games. Suits them. Ronaldo was quality tonight, bout time he delivered in a big game. I watched him with great interest tonight and that was a good performance from him. I like what he said at the end too. Sometimes it isn't possible to play well every game, when you have a couple of players stopping you it is hard. I hope Messi can shake his 3 markers off tomorrow night because when he did (rarely) in the first leg he had them every time. We shall see. United v Barca I hope, if not then I would prefer United to win it any day.
Darkzzz_ Posted 5 May 2009 Posted 5 May 2009 You say "bore off" then waffle on about stuff completely irrelevant to my post! If you don't agree with what i said then fine, but at least try to come up with a counter argument. You obviously haven't met him yet then?
BoneDog Posted 5 May 2009 Posted 5 May 2009 Well probably not. Seriously. I've done it before a couple of times, but the 2nd time I saved it with me nose by mistake. It stung
purpleronnie Posted 5 May 2009 Posted 5 May 2009 You say "bore off" then waffle on about stuff completely irrelevant to my post! If you don't agree with what i said then fine, but at least try to come up with a counter argument. Thats not his style.
Joe. Posted 5 May 2009 Posted 5 May 2009 To be fair, tomorrow's game will be a lot different to the one at the Nou Camp last week. Chelsea won't be able to stick 10 men behind the ball for 90 minutes, not when they're at home and need at least a goal to go through (probably). This technically should allow Barca a bit more space to go forward, thus allowing Messi and co. to unleash hell. That's what I'm hoping anyway. Barca are quite clearly a better side than Chelsea, and class should prevail tomorrow.
Uncle Albert Posted 5 May 2009 Posted 5 May 2009 Drogba will tear Pique and his partner apart tomorrow night. Barca's only hope is that they score an early goal and can stop Drogba and Lampard from playing.
purpleronnie Posted 5 May 2009 Posted 5 May 2009 Had 3-1 at 28's. Blimey you deserve that price predicting that. How much did you put on?
Corky Posted 5 May 2009 Posted 5 May 2009 Feel for Fletcher, undeserved red and can't even appeal. Man Utd v Barcelona in the final I think.
Samilktray Posted 5 May 2009 Posted 5 May 2009 Kieran Gibbs deserves a lot of credit, 2 good performances over both legs.
Simi Posted 5 May 2009 Posted 5 May 2009 Blimey you deserve that price predicting that. How much did you put on? Just a quid, gutted now. But isn't that the case everytime you win a bet?!
Thracian Posted 5 May 2009 Posted 5 May 2009 Why can't it be applealed Cos the authorities don't give a shit about justice. And that referee might have been one of the best in the game but it was a shameful decision and even more so in the light of what he didn't penalise moments later. There was no way on earth that he was in a position to see what happened with Fletcher. He guessed and got it wrong. Honest mistake I don't doubt and one which could and should be corrected were there any honour in the game. The result is that a guy who played a blinder and made a brave, honest and seemingly fair tackle misses the most important game of his career while minutes later Adebayor goes right over the top, quiite deliberately, and gets to stay on the field after a tackle that could have broken a player's foot or lower leg. Disgraceful. As I've said before, referees just aren't capable of getting important decisions consistently right and the sooner there's technological assistance the better - especially if the authorities are going to continue refusing appeals and effectively condoning serious mistakes.
Maybes Posted 5 May 2009 Posted 5 May 2009 Dig that then Arsene Wenger. All we need now is Barca to reach the final.
