Darkzzz_ Posted 11 May 2009 Posted 11 May 2009 LEAVE GARETH ALONE! He's lovely He is a top bloke. I am sorry.
Koke Posted 11 May 2009 Posted 11 May 2009 Fucking beautiful, I love you Steven Taylor, Obafemi Martins, Peter Lovenkrands, Alan Shearer and everyone else in that black and white kit tonight. (Bar Habib Beye) The funny thing about that statement is that Habib Beye is probably the best player of the lot. Meh. Fuck Newcastle. In a roundabout way, it's alright if they stay up and if that ugly smug faced cunt Shearer continues as manager, he will be well and truly found out in the transfer market and things will go tits up again for them next season and his legendary status at Newcastle will be tarnished. Please God let it happen.
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 11 May 2009 Posted 11 May 2009 One Sam Allardyce. & A dash of Alan Shearer = Terry From Emmerdale.
Guest Posted 11 May 2009 Posted 11 May 2009 One Sam Allardyce. & A dash of Alan Shearer = Terry From Emmerdale. Lookalike maths... genius

Bert Posted 11 May 2009 Posted 11 May 2009 Maybe if Emnes hadn't have played Boro might have got something out of the game. Neither team were amazing, Newcastle were just the better of two very poor Premiership sides. You can see why they're both down there. Neither team has any really consistency due to one reason or another. The game started off really well but petered out toward the end of the first half. Obviously with both teams feeling nervy and trying to be as tight as they could it was going to take something lucky or class which swung the game, and lucky it was. Martins slip whilst he shot for the 2nd Newcastle goal being so. As Middlesborough tried pushing up for an equaliser the inevitable 3rd from Newcastle came, which was actually a quite tidy goal. Boro's time seems up for this season, having to face Villa and West Ham, and hope other results go their way, whereas Newcastle live to fight another day.

Boro will find their level in the Championship.
Bert Posted 11 May 2009 Posted 11 May 2009 Boro will find their level in the Championship. Yep. Their crowds will rapidly decrease and the Riverside will be more empty than it's ever been. Feel sorry for Steve Gobson, 'cos he's one of the best chairmen around.
Ultra Posted 11 May 2009 Posted 11 May 2009 Newcastle rode their luck at times, but deserved their win in the end. Southgate gambled with his team selection and it didn't pay off. They're doomed. I've said for weeks that the geordies will stay up. So it's between Hull and Sunderland for the third relegation slot. Hull need to beat Bolton to give themselves any hope of survival.
AyewJoking Posted 12 May 2009 Posted 12 May 2009 Arrrrrrrrrrrgh! Its been coming though, Hull have been on the slide for ages and Middlesbrough are so dull they wouldnt look out of place in League two.

Feel sorry for Steve Gobson, 'cos he's one of the best chairmen around. Gibson seems like a pretty savvy guy. Maybe, just maybe he will be the leader of a new era of affordable tickets. Fill the ground at £10 a ticket. Go on Steve, you can do it.
filbertway Posted 12 May 2009 Posted 12 May 2009 Viduka still has it. What a fine game he had. 'borough looked absolutely woeful in the final 3rd, not suprising that their only goal was scored by newcastle. Tuncay makes me sick.
Guest Bilo Posted 12 May 2009 Posted 12 May 2009 I was looking forward to Newcastle away next season as well. They were the better of the two sides last night though and deserved their win, a timely one it was too as relegation would have turned them into a financial car-crash to make Leeds look prudent. Middlesborough are now surely down with West Brom and Hull have been found out after a great start to the season. Can see Sunderland escaping not because of anything they'll do, but because there are simply three worse teams in the Premiership at the moment.

Go on Steve, you can do it. That wouldn't pay the wage bill though.. Some of Southgate's signings, especially from overseas, have been embarassingly poor. Can't see them hanging around for a season in the lower leagues. Boro will have a lot of rebuilding to do. They won't be a threat in the Championship next year.
AjcW Posted 12 May 2009 Posted 12 May 2009 Good god some of the small minded opinions on newcastle as a club and their fans on here are shocking. I dont care what sort of history they have with us, there fans are passionate not diluded, and to be fair if we had a big fook off stadium like that I think we would be chirping on about how massive we are. Absolutely delighted that they will (fingers crossed) stay up. P.S Thought it was a cracking game, anyone else in ldn road varsity last night, decent atmosphere, pleanty of newcastle fans.

First part yes, second part no I need only listen back to 606 from the other week to find some Toon fan ranting on about how they should be spared Championship football at the expense of a team like Stoke or Hull, just because they pull in X amount of fans each week
