StanSP Posted 4 July 2009 Posted 4 July 2009 Link;http://www.drfc-vsc.co.uk/index.php?...99999&id=13674 In that report it says: but at present we are not about to lose any of the squad.
James_lcfc Posted 4 July 2009 Posted 4 July 2009 I think he meant this link; http://www.drfc-vsc.co.uk/index.php?option...99&id=13674 The guy seems pretty adamant that Wellens is coming to us "in the next few weeks at most". Hmmmm

Hmmmm Yeah. But other regular posters seem adamant that he's going nowhere simply because the guy who said it was on his first post. Denial? Sheer rumour? Truth?
James_lcfc Posted 4 July 2009 Posted 4 July 2009 Yeah. But other regular posters seem adamant that he's going nowhere simply because the guy who said it was on his first post. Denial? Sheer rumour? Truth? Who knows! 'tis why I love pre-season! This is one of the rumours I've been hoping is true though, top player.
champions 08/09 Posted 6 July 2009 Posted 6 July 2009 looks a good midfield player but is quite small
tcrofts Posted 6 July 2009 Posted 6 July 2009 wikipedia seem to already know the day before it happens 'On July 7th 2009 Richie Wellens signed for Leicester City on a 3-year deal, signing for an undisclosed fee, believed to be around 1.8 million.'
tcrofts Posted 6 July 2009 Posted 6 July 2009 That's not what it said last time I read it. just read it earlier, also starts with: Richard Paul "Richie" Wellens (born 26 March 1980 in Moston, Manchester) is an English professional footballer currently playing as a midfielder for Leicester City.
MikeyT Posted 6 July 2009 Posted 6 July 2009 You need to remember ANYONE can change Wikipedia, so until we get clarification from the club that he has signed i wouldn't pay attention to Wikipedia.
tcrofts Posted 6 July 2009 Posted 6 July 2009 You need to remember ANYONE can change Wikipedia, so until we get clarification from the club that he has signed i wouldn't pay attention to Wikipedia. True, fingers crossed they're right though
dandannieldanok Posted 6 July 2009 Posted 6 July 2009 Wikipedia said we had signed Danny Murphy this time 2 years ago, never trust that site along with footballrumours.com and 606.
Legend_in_blue Posted 6 July 2009 Posted 6 July 2009 Whoever changes wikipedia has now changed it back to how it was. There's no mention of the mighty LCFC.
Brainy Posted 6 July 2009 Posted 6 July 2009 You need to remember ANYONE can change Wikipedia, so until we get clarification from the club that he has signed i wouldn't pay attention to Wikipedia. Yeah, the other night I edited my old school's wiki page and said that my mate won the sexiest male award in 07 & 08. I even added a picture of him accepting some award for attendance. It got edited back within 30 seconds.
Legend_in_blue Posted 6 July 2009 Posted 6 July 2009 Whatever has happened today will not change the fact that it's now fast approaching 10:30pm. Nothing will be announced, if anything at all, until at least lunch time tomorrow. Chill out people, forget about it until tomorrow.
David Guiza Posted 6 July 2009 Posted 6 July 2009 I appolgise in advance for going on Bentleys Roof but they reckon 3year deal as well. 1.8 mill. Dont believe the 1.8mill bit steep for a 29year old is he?
haraven Posted 6 July 2009 Posted 6 July 2009 Hope this is true. From what I know about him he is a good player, and has qualities we've been looking for. Can't really talk about his price, but 1.5-2mill sounds a bit steep, but it's probably all papertalk.

Leicester and Doncaster at odds over Richie WellensLeicester's move for Doncaster midfielder Richie Wellens is being held up because of a £200,000 difference in valuations. The Foxes have offered £1million but Rovers are sticking out for £1.2m.
Shrenchel Posted 7 July 2009 Posted 7 July 2009 From the Mirror. The mirror is often full of cock but it would be really disappointing to lose a good player over footballing peanuts.

See link below.... http://www.leicester.vitalfootball.co.uk/a...le.asp?a=160279 A good buy IMO, but a bit highly priced at 2 mill. Our midfield seems complte now, c'mon Nigel/Mandric let get a forward in soon.

Babylon Posted 7 July 2009 Posted 7 July 2009 FFS what is it with people. Vital football, 606, football rumours, foxes online and wikipedia is all complete gash. That stuff on Bentleys is blatantly just a copy of information found on wikipedia. Trust people who have proved themselves, ignore every other fecker feeding off the back of real information.

Houdini Logic Posted 7 July 2009 Posted 7 July 2009 According to the paper I was reading this morning at the hotel (it was Times or Mail - all they had) Leicester have bought Wellens. Thought it was a bid odd, but definitely a done deal according to them.

"If" he had his medical yesterday as Bert & Babs have said then the deal with Donny is a done. Personal terms should have been finalised and all that is left is passing the medical which I assume would have been completed last night to be announced today?
