Guppy Posted 13 May 2009 Posted 13 May 2009 Bryan Gunn has been confirmed as Norwich City's new manager.Majority shareholders Delia Smith and husband Michael Wynn Jones announced the news at a Carrow Road press conference this afternoon. The appointment comes just a day after the resignations of club chairman Roger Munby and chief executive Neil Doncaster. If anyone is interested.
Uncle Albert Posted 13 May 2009 Posted 13 May 2009 I think Norwich are seriously going to struggle in League One.
Guppy Posted 13 May 2009 Author Posted 13 May 2009 They have also sold Marshall to Cardiff for around £500k and Croft - Derby, looks like they are trying to get players off their books ASAP.
Finchy Posted 13 May 2009 Posted 13 May 2009 I disagree I think Norwich will be the team to bounce back first, they're getting rid of a lot of players and starting again, and I think Gunn could be good for them.
Guest Bilo Posted 13 May 2009 Posted 13 May 2009 Those saying Gunn is a bad or desperate appointment of a club that can't get any better should remember the same kind of things were said about Pearson last June. Good luck to him and Norwich, League One will be tough next year but I can see them going well.
dandannieldanok Posted 13 May 2009 Posted 13 May 2009 Who else would they get other than Gunn? The majority of managers available are unattached for a reason (i.e they're shit and have been sacked). I'm backing Norwich to at least finish play-offs and probably top 2.
Joe. Posted 13 May 2009 Posted 13 May 2009 Seems a bit odd to me. Can't imagine that many Norwich fans are happy with this...
ousefox Posted 13 May 2009 Posted 13 May 2009 This isn't a good appointment in my season. If he didn't have a history with the club he wouldn't have been appointed.
Guest Bilo Posted 13 May 2009 Posted 13 May 2009 I reckon they'll start the season all guns blazing. What happens if he gets fired?
Basingstoke Fox Posted 13 May 2009 Posted 13 May 2009 Apparently Norwich have sold 18k season tickets so far. Thats pretty bloody impressive imo.
C-man Posted 13 May 2009 Posted 13 May 2009 Apparently Norwich have sold 18k season tickets so far. Thats pretty bloody impressive imo. That means that at least 2000 have dropped out. Norwich have a rolling ST system where people pay on direct debit with no transaction costs and the only way to stop being a STH is to cancel your direct debit.

Mickey O'Neil Posted 13 May 2009 Posted 13 May 2009 Can't help thinking they missed out on a trick there with Jim Gannon. At least they sorted it out early enough though to give Gunny a chance. Wonder if Cort is the next to go!?
DJ Barry Hammond Posted 13 May 2009 Posted 13 May 2009 Hang on - he took them down? Does Delia not know that goalkeepers do not make sucessful managers! (Dino Zoff apart!)
Guest Posted 13 May 2009 Posted 13 May 2009 What happens if he gets fired? They'd be better off getting shot of him I reckon
Granno Posted 13 May 2009 Posted 13 May 2009 They'd be better off getting shot of him I reckon He seems a bit of a loose cannon...
DJ Barry Hammond Posted 13 May 2009 Posted 13 May 2009 He seems a bit of a loose cannon... A dyslexic Norwich fan told me they've kept faith due to Brain being highly intelligent. (well if you can all get laughs out of Gunn puns, at least accomodate my nicely worked Brian/Brain one!)

(well if you can all get laughs out of Gunn puns, at least accomodate my nicely worked Brian/Brain one!) If all else fails, he will probably fit right in at the Arsenal. Well I've taken the Gunn jokes as far as I can. FT'ers, It's over to you

FT'ers, It's over to you Aparrently he's making a last ditch attemp to sign Dany N'Gunn'ssan from Lincoln and Cerik Van Der Gun in an attempt to give the opposition both barrels and shoot Norwich back to the Championship!
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 13 May 2009 Posted 13 May 2009 Hopefully this move will give the club a real shot in the arm.
