Guest Posted 9 June 2008 Posted 9 June 2008 Some twat on the weather said that the pollen count is high. No shit, Sherlock! My eyes are so swollen, I look like I've been punched. I can't breathe properly, and as for itchy nose, that's just the tip of the iceberg. On the plus side, a blood test has confirmed that I am indeed allergic to grass. In fact this is no ordinary allergy, it is SUPER ALLERGY®. I have been advised that even touching grass will bring out a skin reaction. I hope MDV never suffers from this.
Guest Posted 9 June 2008 Posted 9 June 2008 Hayfever + Exams = taking the piss. I've just been prescribed prednisolone. I's not canelog (sp), but I will take it.
Babylon Posted 9 June 2008 Posted 9 June 2008 Arrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrgh gayfever has been going mad since last Thursday. Even the bloody Benadryl isn't touching it. Roll on winter.
MC Prussian Posted 9 June 2008 Posted 9 June 2008 My hayfever was worse when I was in my teenage years, now all I get is a short outburst in late April/early May. I feel for all you victims, and I wish the pain will subdue with the years to come.
blue blood Posted 9 June 2008 Author Posted 9 June 2008 I cannot explain the science behind it but since i have come back from india, not a tear in my eye or a sniffle from my nose....

Babylon Posted 9 June 2008 Posted 9 June 2008 I'm going to slap the next person who tells me to shove vaseline up my nose, when I have an irritated nose the last thing I want to do it shove something up there that smells.
Guest Posted 9 June 2008 Posted 9 June 2008 I'm going to slap the next person who tells me to shove vaseline up my nose, when I have an irritated nose the last thing I want to do it shove something up there that smells. It doesn't work, either.

Babylon Posted 9 June 2008 Posted 9 June 2008 What about Vix Vapour rub? Thats a gooden. That's like adding wood to a fire to make it go out for me i'm afraid. Benadryl is the only thing that gets close. Not the 24 hour pill either, the 3 a day pill that send you into a chemically induced haze.

The Stig Posted 27 July 2008 Posted 27 July 2008 I get really bad hayfever. It not only gives me a constant cold. but it also triggers my asthma if that's how to spell it and normally gives me an attack in the summer. Last year I had it really bad so I took some advice from someone and started taking my perscription tablets every day starting in March. Apparantly you build up a defence. So I did that, got my perscription eye drops and started taking them and my inhaler and this year was just as bad as normal. Until around the start of July that is, ever since then for the first time in years its been pretty good.

I would go and bug your GP though, it has taken me nearly 10 years to get a referral to the allergy clinic. I am hoping to be a suitable candidate for immunotherapy, because the only other option I have is to emigrate
