MC Prussian Posted 17 March 2009 Posted 17 March 2009 It's starting again. First symptoms about a week ago - I just felt something creeping up on me. Last weekend was a joke. Couldn't sleep too well on Saturday because I felt like I was suffocating, with a nose no longer willing to perform one of the most basic acts - breathing. Now I'm on Aerius and Cetallerg. At least a little relief, but it ain't gone (yet). Downside to the drugs is that I feel much more sleepy than usual - but when you have the choice between constant sneezing attacks and a little bit of dope in your system, it's not that hard. Hope I'll only have to suffer for a few weeks and then s*d *ff!!! (Lisa - I hope you ain't reading this)
purpleronnie Posted 17 March 2009 Posted 17 March 2009 Its weird I used to get it bad when I was younger, suffered from ashma too, I just seem to grow out of both, I honestly think when I started working out it made me stronger and it started to affect me less and less.

I didn't want to scare the *bleep* out of you already, but apparently this year's going to be extra-bad, as it's started earlier than usual and it's looking like it's gonna last for quite a while. Just to let you know - and I do recall you're usually blessed towards the summer. For me, the two main forces of evil this spring are hazel and alder.

For me, the two main forces of evil this spring are hazel and alder. They tested me for birch, and something else. Don't know what. I am so sensitive to grass though, I wonder if I'm reacting to even the slightest pollen that might be in the atmosphere, but the allergy doctor poo-pooed it. She can't explain why I am already blowing blood clots from my nose already each morning.
Corky Posted 17 March 2009 Posted 17 March 2009 Freshly cut grass sets mine off. I'll try and avoid doing the gardening this summer.
Guest Bilo Posted 17 March 2009 Posted 17 March 2009 I don't get hayfever. Yah boo sucks to those who do!
MC Prussian Posted 17 March 2009 Posted 17 March 2009 I don't get hayfever. Yah boo sucks to those who do! You never know - it can hit you late, too.
AoWW Posted 18 March 2009 Posted 18 March 2009 I get hayfever, so I expect it to start again soon I can't persuade you to pop round and mow the lawn then?
Corky Posted 18 March 2009 Posted 18 March 2009 I can't persuade you to pop round and mow the lawn then? No <_< It's a woman's job.
Corky Posted 18 March 2009 Posted 18 March 2009 Nice of you to volunteer. <_< Shut it lanky No it is not. It is. Sometimes
Edmund Posted 20 May 2009 Posted 20 May 2009 I wanted to post in the old hay fever thread but it is locked for some reason. Anyways Im not a happy bunny at the moment. My hay fever seems to have hit me like a train this year. Started off a few weeks back but now I feel as if im knocking on deaths door. Really tempted to go abroad and risk taking that injection kit they use to offer back in the 60's on the nhs. It cured hay fever but I think 1 in every 100,000 or so people can suffer from cardiac arrest on injection. Im still willing to do this as my old man did it back in the day and has hardly any problems anymore after he use to suffer badly when he was younger. Does anybody's hay fever fluctuate each year? This year has started of worst than most. Seems like my 10mg tablets aren't strong enough this year. 5mg do fook all and I really don't want to get the big yellow tabs. Think they are 20mg or so and they do work but they leave you feeling like a zombie and you can't legally drive under them as there like a sedative. Hay fever fook off
StanSP Posted 20 May 2009 Posted 20 May 2009 I am so glad I don't suffer from this. Although I probably will later in life. Somehow.
Matt Posted 20 May 2009 Posted 20 May 2009 My eyes were really itchy last week, but seem to have settled down now, I have been sneezing abit, that could be Swine Flu though
MC Prussian Posted 21 May 2009 Posted 21 May 2009 I am on the verge of ripping my eyeballs out. At this point of the day? I just heard a few weeks ago that this year's particularely bad, although I got lucky that my bad phase's already over. Are you on meds or fighting it out the proper way, Lisa? Hope you'll do better soon enough.

Are you on meds or fighting it out the proper way, Lisa? Hope you'll do better soon enough. It's been getting progressively worse throughout the day. My meds are thus: High strength antihistamine Nasonex spray Singular tablets Eyedrops I have some steroids to fall back on, but they really do mess me up, even a short course. However, if I'm like this now, I dread to think what I'll be like come July.
