bluebeau Posted 5 August 2009 Posted 5 August 2009 We've prob got no chance of getiing him on loan now IMO nore has anyone else. I see him being part of Sir Alexs' 1st team squad.
NorthernFox Posted 5 August 2009 Posted 5 August 2009 Owes us nowt, hope he breaks thru, and he knows he has a home if its cold oop north!

DANGEROUS TIGER Posted 6 August 2009 Posted 6 August 2009 Good luck to him. I think he will become a real star.
alanf0x Posted 6 August 2009 Posted 6 August 2009 Quotes from Sir Alex: Cleverley is one of a clutch of United youngsters eager to make an impression in the game but knowing their immediate future lies elsewhere as Ferguson looks to expose them to more competitive football. The Basingstoke-born midfielder, who is 20 next week, spent part of last term on loan with Leicester, and Ferguson admits he is not sure if another spell away from Old Trafford beckons. "We don't really know what to do with Tom," he said. "A lot of clubs have been in for him, including one or two in the Premier League. "Putting him out on loan is something we are looking at because these lads do need experience."
The Padster Posted 6 August 2009 Posted 6 August 2009 From SSN 8.54 Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson has revealed rival Premier League clubs have been showing an interest in Tom Cleverley.
billyfox1 Posted 6 August 2009 Posted 6 August 2009 More likely to go on loan to a premiership side rather than us if they are interested in him already. We were just there to help in move up a level and everyone gained something out of the deal.
Jon the Hat Posted 6 August 2009 Posted 6 August 2009 He is better of coming to us and playing than going to a prem side and sitting on the bench, so I guess it depends what SAF thinks he can do this season.
Fox in a Box Posted 6 August 2009 Posted 6 August 2009 I wonder...... if.......he wants to come here for the journey hes more than welcome.
lildave3 Posted 6 August 2009 Posted 6 August 2009 Am I the only one that didn't think that much of him when he was here?
Flynny Posted 6 August 2009 Posted 6 August 2009 Am I the only one that didn't think that much of him when he was here? I know what you mean, he was just decent. Gradel or Oakley are better picks on the right and King/Wellens/Oakley in the middle, especially with them being ours.
Sly Posted 7 August 2009 Posted 7 August 2009 I see Cleverley has been named in the Man U squad for the game against Chelsea. He was never coming back here, lets be honest!!
lcfc_jme Posted 7 August 2009 Posted 7 August 2009 Am I the only one that didn't think that much of him when he was here? He added a bit of enthusiasm and looked sharp from what I remember, but he rarely had an outstanding impact on the side. But seeing as he recently scored against Valencia, we should definitely have him back.* *obviously not being serious.
Unabomber Posted 7 August 2009 Posted 7 August 2009 His performances at Walsall and at home to Cheltenham were absolutely fantastic. Would love him back here.
MPH Posted 7 August 2009 Posted 7 August 2009 More likely to go on loan to a premiership side rather than us if they are interested in him already. We were just there to help in move up a level and everyone gained something out of the deal. i am not so sure on that... firstly he wouldnt be going to a top 8 prem team and if so he would only be warming the bench and that wouldnt be the first team exoerience Fergie wants secondly there is no way he will be allowed to go on loan to a team like Burnley because a season there is likely to crush his spirit and winning mentality i would think he is more likely to head for a team thats going to be up there at the top of the champ come the end of the season and i dont blame Fergie is he is concerned by the lack of transfers we have made so im not so sure it will be us either....
Darkzzz_ Posted 7 August 2009 Posted 7 August 2009 He was top class against Walsall, very good young player and he is at the right club too.
Joe. Posted 7 August 2009 Posted 7 August 2009 Am I the only one that didn't think that much of him when he was here? No, not at all. I can't believe there's Premier League interest, he's nowhere near that level yet. Hardly stood out even at League One for me, one step at a time. Personally I can't see him coming back here because he'd be fourth choice behind King, Oakley and Wellens, and he's not a right winger. But a move to another Championship side would be good for him, see how he fares.
Hackneyisblue Posted 7 August 2009 Posted 7 August 2009 I thought he took a little time to settle in but as each game passed so his impact on the game grew.
Candidcamera Posted 7 August 2009 Posted 7 August 2009 We need cover for these players and say they lose form ? Last year we just got home as far as injuries go.
dandannieldanok Posted 7 August 2009 Posted 7 August 2009 If you look at our midfield as it stands now, (Gradel, Dyer, Wellens, Oakley, King), I wouldn't say Cleverley would improve us really. I'd like to see him back here but I'm not sure he'd make it into my personal midfield quartet.
TrickyTrev Posted 7 August 2009 Posted 7 August 2009 I think people forget that Cleverley offers an option as an attacking full back, something we may need at home on the right side.
bluebeau Posted 7 August 2009 Posted 7 August 2009 I think people forget that Cleverley offers an option as an attacking full back, something we may need at home on the right side. I saw him play all of his games at City, & IMO he played best when he was used as right back, gave the team more going forward.
MPH Posted 7 August 2009 Posted 7 August 2009 I think people forget that Cleverley offers an option as an attacking full back, something we may need at home on the right side. yes!!!! we need nore RB's!!! several of them infact....
