Fez of Mahrez Posted 11 August 2009 Posted 11 August 2009 http://www.thefa.com/England/MensUnder20s/...ort_110809.aspx Two goals for England Under 20s tonight.
willchafer Posted 14 August 2009 Posted 14 August 2009 i dont think hes worth the signing, not because bad or anything like that but we have max gradel and n'guesson on the right and it will be too hard to please all three players. perhaps if we ever make it to the premier league hes worth an enquiry about.

Cleverley is awesome and we will be lucky if he comes back to us, as there is interest from prem teams. N'Guessan is a top player and will become a recognised first team player. Gradel is so over rated especially on this forum its a joke. He has cult status which is great, because of his happy-go-lucky style and plays with a smile on his face. Its great to see but when push comes to shove Cleverley is on a different planet to Maxi. As you've guessed im not a maxi fan. He has trouble finding his man when crossing, taking corners and is a poor goal scorer. Cleverley can dribble, pass with accuracy and has an eye for goal. Sign him up end of.

Sign him up end of. Cleverley's a bubbly footballer, a guy who's powered by the sort of infectious enthusiasm it's impossible not to appreciate. But "awesome" he's not. On two or three occasions and particularly against Walsall away, Cleverley showed eyecatching potential, boundless energy, competitiveness, quick passing, subtle skills and a refreshing directness. On other occasions he looked naive, seemingly unable to get his head up to see the pictures, unsure of his best passing option, clumsy on the ball and inclined to be caught in possession. Which is as you'd expect of a young lad learning his trade and one would hope he shows more of the positive aspects than the negative ones as he gains more experience to the point where seven or eight good games out of 10 perhaps justify an "awesome" tag. No question I rate Cleverley and would quite like him back here but the difference in development between him and Gradel is not so great especially when you remember that Walsall were knackered almost from the off on the night Cleverley starred against them. Gradel is trying hard to follow instructions and add new aspects to his game. Last season it was trying to defend more readily and more responsibly. At Macclesfield he'd clearly been asked to provide extreme width and to stretch the home defence. Basically he's trying to add discipline, accuracy and consistency to his naturally flamboyant game and I see no harm at all in giving him time to do that. Not long back his team-mates were describing Gradel as undoubtedly the most skillful player in the squad. He's not lost those skills and any increase in the challenge he faces for a team place has nothing to do with his not being as skillful as Cleverley but more to the fact that Pearson is rapidly improving the standard required. Gradel's big task - and the same goes for King - will be to meet the new standard by lifting their own still further. We didn't give the lad a four year contract cos he's crap and he didn't get a maximum 10-rating against Crewe cos he's crap. Gradel is a positive and dangerous player who has already made some vital contributions to City's cause since his arrival in the first team. He doesn't need or deserve a knocking.

Love the guy because he clearly enjoys playing for us and he puts so much effort in, but his ability is exaggerated so much on this forum. I do think he can become a lot better however and I really hope he does.
McFoxy Posted 14 August 2009 Posted 14 August 2009 On the 3 or 4 occasions I saw max play he was certainly in the top 3 or 4 players we had on the field. This didn't include his awesome goal either. I'm not singling him out as the messiah, but with squad players like that it really keeps me optimistic. I've seen too many years of Leicester dross to not have admiration for him.
MPH Posted 15 August 2009 Posted 15 August 2009 i think its very true to say that with he arrival on the scene of Dany with 2 goals in his first 2 games that Toms arrival would push Max further down the pecking order. Unless of course the intention was to use Cleverly as back up for the CM positions and should King go anywhere this season ( hopefully not) i would see that as entirely feasable,

Im shocked to say I agree with you. Gradel has done nothing to deserve being knocked. Some fans may go overboard on the assessment of his performances but thats only because hes popular and I think mainly thats down to his enthusiasm and passion for this club. I would never put him down because the lad has his heart on his sleeve and always tries his best. It might not always come off but hes still young and learning. I have the upmost respect for him, having watched him with interest for a long time with the academy Im delighted hes in the 1st team and know how hard hes worked to get there.
dandannieldanok Posted 17 August 2009 Posted 17 August 2009 Would like to have seen him come back here but Watford is a better move for him as he's more likely to play.
Guest Bilo Posted 17 August 2009 Posted 17 August 2009 So we're effectively 1-0 down already against Watford. Cos he's guaranteed to score against us and prompt an angry response at NP for not signing him. <_<
Edmund Posted 17 August 2009 Posted 17 August 2009 Ok...i been keeping this hush for some time now..I have source that knows where Tom was living in his short spell at Leicester ..i even have his basketball(ask him) ...He left 1 apartment and went back home....But but ...but...He is moving into a new bigger 1 in August ...hope this cheers a few of you up ...i`ll update you when i can ... I like that. Of all the things we could ask him, we're supposed to ask if you have his basketball.
Heart-Shaped Fox Posted 17 August 2009 Posted 17 August 2009 Quite annoyed about this but I'm sure NP didnt feel we needed him. Wish him well though.
C-man Posted 17 August 2009 Posted 17 August 2009 Good luck to him. Really hope he tears the Championship apart, apart from us.
CosbehFox Posted 17 August 2009 Posted 17 August 2009 Hoping for a debut goal at Forest tomorrow night.
Ozwin Posted 18 August 2009 Posted 18 August 2009 Gutted really, we obviously didn't offer him the oppertunity or I'm sure he'd have picked us over them. Seemed to really enjoy himself there.
FoxesFan123 Posted 18 August 2009 Posted 18 August 2009 I think the unexpected emergence of Nicky Adams and the competition already in midfield meant we didn't need him.
carterfox90 Posted 18 August 2009 Posted 18 August 2009 obviously NP thought we had enough cover in midfield shame as when he stopped playing for us he was just starting to show what he had in his locker after a quite start
maddog Posted 18 August 2009 Posted 18 August 2009 Real shame, Watford aswell so he will probably score against us But with Adams looking firey, Super Dany, Lloydy, Maxi, Oaks, The King, Wells we don't really need him. Maybe NP is lining up a striker on loan instead
Finnegan Posted 18 August 2009 Posted 18 August 2009 Gone Watford. Good for the lad, he wouldn't have played here.
