Arthur Rowley Posted 28 June 2009 Posted 28 June 2009 Money makes people do funny things if enough is poked under their noses, and Pearson has a big nose. So it wouldn't supprise me if the lure and smell of big money made him up anchor. There's not a man that could resist a small fortune to set his wife and kids up for a lifetime. Just my two penneth!!
Sly Posted 28 June 2009 Posted 28 June 2009 I would like to see the following rule introduced.1 - clubs cannot make moves for managers in employment by other clubs. 2 - if a manager resigns he cannot move to another club for 6 months (to protect from managers quitting to bypass rule 1). Restriction of trade. That's like me telling you you can't work at ASDA for the extra £3 a hour if you work at Tesco as you've got to resign for 6 months first!
AyewJoking Posted 28 June 2009 Posted 28 June 2009 Imagine if Pearson did go to WBA or anywhere else for that matter. How badly would it fook us up? Damage the morale amongst the players? Delay the signing of new players and miss out on the best options? Milan panicking and bringing in a crap stop gap?
dandannieldanok Posted 28 June 2009 Posted 28 June 2009 Imagine if Pearson did go to WBA or anywhere else for that matter. How badly would it fook us up?Damage the morale amongst the players? Delay the signing of new players and miss out on the best options? Milan panicking and bringing in a crap stop gap? Obviously I don't want him to go, but I've said it before a few weeks ago, you can look at it as a blessing in disguise if he decides to go. We need someone in for the long haul, committed to the cause, and if he were to go WBA then clearly he isn't the right man for the job.
Sly Posted 28 June 2009 Posted 28 June 2009 This season is a big year for Nigel Pearson. I hope he's spent the year sprousing up on new tactics and impact of changing the style of play mid game as we're going to need every trick in the book for us to go further. I don't see him as a bad manager, just maybe not as the Massiah everyone else does. He's still got a lot to prove and with that a lot to learn also. I do hope he stays at Leicester though as he has a raw talent. I see no reason why he'd jump ship as he's got a stable job with the backing of the Chairman and the fans currently.
Edmund Posted 28 June 2009 Posted 28 June 2009 I would like to see the following rule introduced.1 - clubs cannot make moves for managers in employment by other clubs. 2 - if a manager resigns he cannot move to another club for 6 months (to protect from managers quitting to bypass rule 1). That is the single most ridiculous thing I have ever heard. You got Blabyfox on 'ignore' then?
BoneDog Posted 28 June 2009 Posted 28 June 2009 Nigels going nowhere. He loves it here at the moment, surely that's obvious? Plus he seems like a loyal and honourable bloke. It's too soon to be chippin
Lovejoy Posted 28 June 2009 Posted 28 June 2009 I thought Big Nige and Jeremy Peace had a falling out when he left The Albion. Surely there's not too much danger there ?
Aixelsyd Posted 29 June 2009 Posted 29 June 2009 I thought Big Nige and Jeremy Peace had a falling out when he left The Albion. Surely there's not too much danger there ? Exactly right. Nigel was offered the WBA job when Robson was sacked and he knocked it back. He was very diplomatic in announcing his reasons for not taking up the posistion but it was obvious to all that he would not work with the "Businessman" Peace.
Fox92 Posted 29 June 2009 Posted 29 June 2009 I know all this about WBA and then obviosley his former playing clubs like Sheffield Wednesday and Middlesborough but I just read somewhere that if Matt Le Tissier's consortium takes over then his number one target is set to be Nigel. Whether Pearson would welcome a move back to Southampton I don't know but I cannot see Milan granting permission. Wouldn't see him leaving if true as he has built up a great side at Leicester. Then again, its all romours, well, not even that and there is more chance of other things happening...

He's the new Martin O'Neill
Steven Posted 30 June 2009 Posted 30 June 2009 Now Cox is going to WBA, Pearson is nailed on to go to there as well. <_<
Guest Posted 30 June 2009 Posted 30 June 2009 Has he gone yet? Do I need to run around this hotel room, pulling out my hair, or can I save it for later?
Jon the Hat Posted 30 June 2009 Posted 30 June 2009 Has he gone yet? Do I need to run around this hotel room, pulling out my hair, or can I save it for later? Do it. You can always get a wig later if necessary.
Jon the Hat Posted 30 June 2009 Posted 30 June 2009 Roberto Di matteo is the new WBA manager ! I really hope that is true. Like the guy, want him to do well and hate MKdons with a passion.
whitlock Posted 30 June 2009 Posted 30 June 2009 Roberto Di matteo is the new WBA manager ! Just had a quick browse, cant find anything ?
AjcW Posted 30 June 2009 Posted 30 June 2009 Just had a quick browse, cant find anything ? Thats because its bullshit

AjcW Posted 30 June 2009 Posted 30 June 2009 It really isn't sorry.... just couldnt find the news anywere for about an hour after he said it.... fair enough I take it back.
Part Of The Crowd Posted 30 June 2009 Posted 30 June 2009 sorry.... just couldnt find the news anywere for about an hour after he said it.... fair enough I take it back. No problem, I also shouldn't have posted so bluntly, I'm just having pretty much the worst day of my life today so am in no mood, this shock exit from RDM hasn't helped my mood either.

Le Tissier's consortium is not taking over Southampton. But there was no reason for Pearson to move back there anyway.
Jon the Hat Posted 30 June 2009 Posted 30 June 2009 Le Tissier's consortium is not taking over Southampton. Saints could be the first real victims of the 10 point penalty. If they are liqudated I hope the arseh0les who voted for it proud of themselves.
