Danglo Posted 8 June 2009 Posted 8 June 2009 If Celtic get their way and Tony Mowbray goes then Nigel Pearson is the overwhelming first choice to replace him. He was undeafeated in the 4 games he bossed when Byran Robson left and is held in high regard by their fans. It seems increasingly likely that Mowbray will head north of the border, so I hope Milan is ready to assure NP of the backing he requires to hang onto him
eaststandtom Posted 8 June 2009 Posted 8 June 2009 wba can fook right off! its wba not real madrid so i hope we will be ok
bluebeau Posted 8 June 2009 Posted 8 June 2009 My gut feeling is that NP will not leave City. IMO he is a man of integrity, loyalty & one that will honour his contract.....touch wood! WBA are no better than City. We have a better record of achievements than they have. We are a better supported football club, & if we were in The Prem we would be attracting 30,000 gates on a regular basis. Even in The Championship, if we are doing well, I wouldn't be surprised to see 27,000 to 30,000 gates. The only thing that WBA will have over City, is the parachute payment from The Prem, so they will have more available funds to spend? Milan & Nigel appear to have a very good working relationship, so I would be surprised if NP left City.
Daggers Posted 8 June 2009 Posted 8 June 2009 I hate close-season. So, where were we? Pearson hates Jammy Dodgers or something?
Hitesh Posted 8 June 2009 Posted 8 June 2009 I can understand the links and the favourite tag but I doubt (and hopes as much) that it won't happen!
iancognito Posted 8 June 2009 Posted 8 June 2009 I can't see it. WBA are on the same sort of level as us in terms of fan base, size of ground and funding. The only difference is that they have parachute payments but if recent seasons are anything to go by, they won't spend that money anyway. If he went it'd be worse than McGhee quitting because Wolves were "a bigger club" and we'd be back at square one with everyone from George Graham to Steve Walsh being mentioned again. I'm not totally convinced that Mowbray will quit WBA anyway. He's their third choice so far and McGhee and Coyle have distanced themselves from the job until now.
gloucesterfox Posted 8 June 2009 Posted 8 June 2009 Apparently Nigel and the WBA chairman Jeremy Peace had a big problem and a friend who is a WBA supporter said that he would be very surprised if Nigel went there if JP was still there. I don't know what the problem is and it's by no means conclusive but I thought may be worth sharing. All the best, Martyn
Munzie Posted 8 June 2009 Posted 8 June 2009 I hate close-season.So, where were we? Pearson hates Jammy Dodgers or something? He dosen't have the qualifications to hate Jammy Dodgers.
The Doctor Posted 8 June 2009 Posted 8 June 2009 He dosen't have the qualifications to hate Jammy Dodgers. what qualifications do you need to hate jammie dodgers then?
davieG Posted 8 June 2009 Posted 8 June 2009 I hate close-season.So, where were we? Pearson hates Jammy Dodgers or something? He dosen't have the qualifications to hate Jammy Dodgers. I heard he'd got his Jammy Dodgers full coaching badges.
Guest Posted 8 June 2009 Posted 8 June 2009 what qualifications do you need to hate jammie dodgers then? I think DeMont are running a BA in jammie-dodger hating
The Doctor Posted 8 June 2009 Posted 8 June 2009 I think DeMont are running a BA in jammie-dodger hating the second worst uni course ever... after david beckham studies at stafford uni 'bout 4 years ago (this was actually a real course however)
Daggers Posted 8 June 2009 Posted 8 June 2009 I think DeMont are running a BA in jammie-dodger hating Typical - yet again we pass up the excellent facilities at Loughborough. They have a world class kitchen packed full of biscuits and cakes, if we weren't selling off the training ground we wouldn't have to rely on academic institutions anyway. Here's hoping the next sighting at Morrissons brings some Lemon Puffs with him.
Legend_in_blue Posted 8 June 2009 Posted 8 June 2009 WBA and Pearson? Don't make me laugh! What an absolute joke of an idea. This kind of nonsense does nothing but wind people up. Who are WBA at any rate? Nobodies I tell ya! They can take their parachutes, rig them with plenty of holes and jump off the nearest cliff.
Fox92 Posted 9 June 2009 Posted 9 June 2009 Why would he go to WBA? He has done well here, built up a nice side, won the league, got great players so what is the incentive to go West Brom? I know he was there but I can only see him going to Middlesborough and Sheffield Wednesday really if they came knocking. Then again, who knows?!
iancognito Posted 9 June 2009 Posted 9 June 2009 I know he was there but I can only see him going to Middlesborough and Sheffield Wednesday really if they came knocking. Then again, who knows?! Let's hope horseface gets Boro back up first time then. Who wouldn't want to go to Boro? you can be mediocre to crap for seven years, spend all the chairman's cash, refuse to cash in on your only asset, get relegated and he still won't sack you. If anyone leaves us for Sheffield Wednesday - ex-player or not - it's time to give up. Newcastle? Why would anyone do that? You'd have to be fcking insane to go there now.
Maybes Posted 9 June 2009 Posted 9 June 2009 Nah, he wont go. WBA = A lot of pressure to bounce back. Leicester = Avoid relegation, eh Milan?
haraven Posted 9 June 2009 Posted 9 June 2009 This is like a cheesy bid. I would like to dub this in the following way: Yeovil asks Manchester United for permission to speak with Sir Alex Ferguson.
Kilworthfox Posted 9 June 2009 Posted 9 June 2009 Nah, he wont go.WBA = A lot of pressure to bounce back. Leicester = Avoid relegation, eh Milan? 3 year plan, we were promised premiership football
