Matt Posted 9 June 2009 Posted 9 June 2009 3 year plan, we were promised premiership football Were we promised? I knows its always been the aim, and talked about, I know there was effectivly a 3 year plan but never read or heard the word promised.
Ford Super Sunday Posted 9 June 2009 Posted 9 June 2009 There is no loyalty in football I don't want Pearson to go, but it wouldn't surprise me in the slightest if he did, if an approach is made. Don't get too clingy, that's all
bigneville Posted 10 June 2009 Posted 10 June 2009 Apparently Nigel and the WBA chairman Jeremy Peace had a big problem and a friend who is a WBA supporter said that he would be very surprised if Nigel went there if JP was still there. I don't know what the problem is and it's by no means conclusive but I thought may be worth sharing. All the best, Martyn Yeah my Baggies friend said the same thing. He said they treated him poorly in his time there. So as much as the Baggies fans would like him, NP won't go there.
carterfox90 Posted 10 June 2009 Posted 10 June 2009 he will stay with us but if middlesborough come knocking now that may be a different matter but hopefully they will keep southgate
whitlock Posted 10 June 2009 Posted 10 June 2009 Couldnt really blame NP if Boro came knocking for him and he went to them. The man does seem the loyal type and would hope he stays. He is building something here at city and i cant see him leaving us for someone else. Anyways who would want to live in Middlesborough??
lavrentis Posted 11 June 2009 Posted 11 June 2009 This rumour still going?I like Iced Gems They're ok. I normally only eat the icing and leave the other bit. I don't mind Choc gems either.

JoeyB Posted 13 June 2009 Posted 13 June 2009 Soon find out if there looking at Pearson as a possible replacement as mowbray has been confirmed as celtic`s new manager! SKy Sports says the compo package has been agreed so he still has to hold talks as i understand it.......
Matt Posted 13 June 2009 Posted 13 June 2009 Pearson name is linked by the bookies yet; Derek Mcinnes - 7/2 Alan Irvine - 5/1 Alan Shearer - 11/2 Aidy Boothroyd - 9/1 Alan Curbishley - 10/1 TBH I didn't expect Pearson's name to be there yet, Infact I didn't expect there to be any odds up yet.
MarkDeVries Posted 13 June 2009 Posted 13 June 2009 Why would he go to WBA?He has done well here, built up a nice side, won the league, got great players so what is the incentive to go West Brom? I know he was there but I can only see him going to Middlesborough and Sheffield Wednesday really if they came knocking. Then again, who knows?! I thought I would point this out as I know NP spent alot of time with them, but I would still be disappointed if he left us for them at some point. They possibly have the worst fans ever & are a championship club, whereas we are a premiership club?
Corky Posted 13 June 2009 Posted 13 June 2009 Can't see them coming in for him, and if they did, I think he'd turn them down. He wants to build something great with us, so I hope he's around for a good few years yet.

Chrysalis Posted 16 June 2009 Posted 16 June 2009 I would like to see the following rule introduced. 1 - clubs cannot make moves for managers in employment by other clubs. 2 - if a manager resigns he cannot move to another club for 6 months (to protect from managers quitting to bypass rule 1).
Lovejoy Posted 16 June 2009 Posted 16 June 2009 I would like to see the following rule introduced.1 - clubs cannot make moves for managers in employment by other clubs. 2 - if a manager resigns he cannot move to another club for 6 months (to protect from managers quitting to bypass rule 1). Why? Are people not allowed to try and further their careers? To excel themselves? Should we ban everyone from moving jobs?
Trav Le Bleu Posted 16 June 2009 Posted 16 June 2009 Why? Are people not allowed to try and further their careers? To excel themselves? Should we ban everyone from moving jobs? Yes, now get back to work!

That is the single most ridiculous thing I have ever heard.
Daggers Posted 16 June 2009 Posted 16 June 2009 That is the single most ridiculous thing I have ever heard. You got Blabyfox on 'ignore' then?

No,No,No. not letting managers move clubs at all unless they resign then stay out of work is a stupid idea. perhap introduce a transfer window the buy/sell/sack managers instead so that boards have to show faith to the manager rather than changing at the first oppurtunity (Milan, MA).
Sparky Posted 26 June 2009 Posted 26 June 2009 Alan Irvine at Preston seems to be favorite at the moment
