Simi Posted 23 August 2009 Posted 23 August 2009 Ricky Ponting does not look happy. Love it. RooFox is a bit quiet?
Benji Posted 23 August 2009 Posted 23 August 2009 How the hell did the umpire see that ball hit the pad before the bat in real time? It took the commentators about 5 slow motion looks at it before they realised. Phenomenal decision!
Tilley Posted 23 August 2009 Posted 23 August 2009 I still think the Aussie's will win, unfortunately.
Milky Posted 23 August 2009 Posted 23 August 2009 If they do it'll be a record that will stand till the end of time.
Fox You Forest Posted 23 August 2009 Posted 23 August 2009 Exactly, no-one has ever got close to chasing that kind of score, I can see the innings taking a similar path to Lords.
Tommeh Posted 23 August 2009 Posted 23 August 2009 Sorry but anyone else feel the euphoria of 4 years ago is miles away from this? I completely blame Sky, the fact they've got the rights to screen it is a toal disgrace, major events such as World Cups, Wimbledon, Cup finals etc. should all be on terrestrial TV. Obviously the fact we've recently ditched sky is bad timing on my part and I've missed a big chunk of this series but come on....

I though the World Cup and Cup Finals had to be on terrestrial - Why not the Ashes and stuff?
Salieri Posted 23 August 2009 Posted 23 August 2009 From the online newspaper "The Australian" : "RICKY Ponting stands proudly amongst the very finest players the game has produced but there is one telling record he is desperate to avoid. Unless his team can show more than it has managed in the past one and a half Tests, Ponting is in danger of becoming just the second captain of Australia to be in charge of two Ashes series defeats in England. The only other is Australia’s first touring captain, Billy Murdoch, well over a century ago. It would be a sad irony if such a great cricketer with such an imposing record as leader was remembered for being the only captain since the Boer War to have such a blot on his record book." Fantastic batsman, possibly the best Aussie batsman since Bradman. But that doesn't mean he's a great captain. Sorry but anyone else feel the euphoria of 4 years ago is miles away from this? Tilley Posted 23 August 2009 Posted 23 August 2009 We havent won yet. ...... and I don't think we will.
Wycombe Fox Posted 23 August 2009 Posted 23 August 2009 ...... and I don't think we will. I'm beginning to think the same
Tilley Posted 23 August 2009 Posted 23 August 2009 I'm beginning to think the same They are quietly chipping away at the total, we need a few wickets before tea.
Milky Posted 23 August 2009 Posted 23 August 2009 Flintoff you **** legend!!! yeeeeeeeessssss! Ponting was in for a huge score.
