Celtic duo linked with Hearts, Leicester and Stoke

Interesting options for Hartley and Hesselink

SOCCERVOICE.COM, 02.07.2009

BBC reports that Celtic duo Paul Hartley and Jan Vennegoor of Hesselink could be targets for Hearts, Leicester and Celtic.

Paul Hartley (32) has a past from Millwall and Hearts, and could look at a chance to play in the Championship with Leicester or re-join his former club in the SPL as an option. Hartley has also been offered a chance ot join Greek club Iraklis.

Vennegoor of Hesselink looks likely to join a Dutch club, but if Stoke fails to sign Ashton or Scotland, they might look at Hesselink as a very good alternative.

I won't be happy until super city confirms he would be a good addition.

I like the pair of them, but we will only sign them if they are desperate for the shirt so i'm not too sure, happy now? :P

And as well, It's Hearts, Leicester and Stoke.

I thought about Hartley when his name was announced by Celtic and I thought to myself that he may be a good little tidy player to sit in midfield while the other midfielder 'droved forward' (how I wish the midfielders drove like Steven Gerrard).

Hesselink, I would absoloutly love that, what a signing he would be but, in truth, he is going to join either a dutch club or a 'bigger' club and he is in the Dutch squad so I cannot see him dropping into the championship.

Bristol City have won the race to sign former Celtic midfielder Paul Hartley, skysports.com understands.

Scotland international Hartley is available on a free transfer after seeing out his contract at Parkhead.

Greek side Iraklis Saloniki had made an offer for Hartley, but Robins boss Gary Johnson has moved quickly to lure the midfielder to Ashton Gate.

Hartley is now set to head to Bristol early next week for a medical ahead of completing a move to the Championship club.

The 32-year-old is expected to sign a two-year deal with City as they look to build a side capable of challenging for promotion.

Be even more interesting when we buy a bloody midfielder lol

Good signing missed there IMO but there is other midfielders.
