Webbo Posted 13 July 2009 Posted 13 July 2009 I caught the second half of the moan in tonight and there were 2 guys who wanted to raise money for a statue of Weller outside the Walkers. What do people think of this? Would you like to see a statue of anyone else, if so who? It is a slow news week.
lildave3 Posted 13 July 2009 Posted 13 July 2009 Heskey, arms aloft after making it 1-1 in the Coca Cola Cup final in the 324th minute.

lildave3 Posted 13 July 2009 Posted 13 July 2009 Claridge or Walsh, celebrating winning goals at Wembley would also be good. Actually, I suppose this: is about as close to an iconic pose as it gets for us. Would be good.
Guest Basildon Fox Posted 13 July 2009 Posted 13 July 2009 Gary Coatsworth with that tackle mid stream against Paul Simpson in the play off final in 94. You can even have Simpson suspended 10 feet in the air for the extra effect. Best foul I have ever seen because I do not think he touched the ball after and it was only about 5 mins in.
iancognito Posted 13 July 2009 Posted 13 July 2009 As long as the statue is of someone that's dead or coffin dodging I really don't mind. Put anyone like Lineker or Walsh on there and their egos would be on the point of bursting, put O'Neill on there and every manager that we have for years to come will have the statue like a millstone round their necks. Maybe a combined one - like the sporting statue - featuring three or four legends. Banks, Weller, Chandler and er...Alan Paris perhaps. Shrenchel Posted 13 July 2009 Posted 13 July 2009 Actually, I suppose this: is about as close to an iconic pose as it gets for us. Would be good. Agreed. We should wait til he's dead though or his head will crush us all. He'd probably start demanding we sack Pearson so he can sit on his rightful throne.

Would you like to see a statue of anyone else, if so who? It is a slow news week. From Bentleys I believe As long as the statue is of someone that's dead or coffin dodging I really don't mind. We should wait til he's dead though or his head will crush us all. He'd probably start demanding we sack Pearson so he can sit on his rightful throne. Still, it's an amazing pose! Perhaps if we had Taylor lying on the floor as well that would add to the epicness.
davieG Posted 13 July 2009 Posted 13 July 2009 I like the idea of face sculptures of past player embedded in the wall around the stadium

Daggers Posted 13 July 2009 Posted 13 July 2009 I like the idea of face sculptures of past player embedded in the wall around the stadium I'd rather have actual faces embedded - the like of Stephen Hughes.
Guest Posted 13 July 2009 Posted 13 July 2009 Ali Mauchlen lifting the Masters Cup? Screwfix Masters Cup.
Corky Posted 13 July 2009 Posted 13 July 2009 Screwfix Masters Cup. Sorry, Screwfix Masters Cup And did you dance along to Chelsea Dagger?
Mickey O'Neil Posted 13 July 2009 Posted 13 July 2009 Weller for me. I'd like to see us recognise Lineker more though.
Guest Posted 13 July 2009 Posted 13 July 2009 Sorry, Screwfix Masters Cup And did you dance along to Chelsea Dagger? I danced to them all, but in a sarcastic manner. The gang of small Florist fans to our right were loving the music.
AyewJoking Posted 13 July 2009 Posted 13 July 2009 We dont need another statue. However the club have my permission for a Muzzy Izzet fountain.
Fosse Boy Posted 13 July 2009 Posted 13 July 2009 For me it would either have to be Arthur Rowley (All Time Football League record goalscorer, the majority of which were scored in a Leicester shirt) or Gordon Banks (only player to win a World Cup while at the club). Don't think it would have much value if it was of anyone more recent than that, even a legend like Weller.
