Guest Posted 13 July 2009 Posted 13 July 2009 Agreed. We should wait til he's dead though or his head will crush us all. He'd probably start demanding we sack Pearson so he can sit on his rightful throne.
Fox92 Posted 14 July 2009 Posted 14 July 2009 I personally always thought that there should be a statue of a footballer - but picking who it would be is the problem! If the money raised was enough, can't we have 3 players celebrating or something like Manchester United have got with Charlton, Law and Georgie Best
Zingari Posted 14 July 2009 Posted 14 July 2009 Couldn't we do something like trafalgar square's 4th plinth ? Ex players ,managers and famous supporters could take in turns to stand there for a day or so Obviously for health and safety reasons , Jobber should go first to ensure the plinth is strong enough for the others
Babylon Posted 14 July 2009 Posted 14 July 2009 We should have two... one of DJ Campbell and another of a linesman with his flag up.
Dr The Singh Posted 14 July 2009 Posted 14 July 2009 I was thinking Paul Dickov and the hookers from la Manga!!!
ozleicester Posted 14 July 2009 Posted 14 July 2009 I was thinking Paul Dickov and the hookers from la Manga!!! Can we leave your fantasies out of it..and stick to the topic at hand?
Dr The Singh Posted 14 July 2009 Posted 14 July 2009 Can we leave your fantasies out of it..and stick to the topic at hand? Believe me, that is not one of my fantasies, those hookers were minging..............
markbsac Posted 14 July 2009 Posted 14 July 2009 Can we leave your fantasies out of it..and stick to the topic at hand? BERNARD ! no really weller for my my school boy hero
Mansfield Fox Posted 14 July 2009 Posted 14 July 2009 Ade Akinbye? Sounds a good idea, Walsh, Izzet, Shilton, Lineker all come to mind.
mickythehoss Posted 14 July 2009 Posted 14 July 2009 Chris Powell. I was one of the two from Bentleys on RL last night, Basically we were trying to drum up some sort of feeling and reaction to having some sort of "feature" at The Walkers I am in favour of any sort focal point, because our ground is a pretty souless place and a statue or as was mentioned last night a "Hall of Fame" would give us some badly needed identity, Im not 100% Weller I'm happy to go with the flow tbh there isn't alot about our history available at The Walkers that's readily available for fans to see.

Sly Posted 14 July 2009 Posted 14 July 2009 .... where are we planning to put this statue? The ground doesn't exactly lend itself to it that well really. We could have a whole collection of them circling the stadium , that'd be unique!!
ob1kanobe0 Posted 14 July 2009 Posted 14 July 2009 How about a sterdy plastic statue of the player of the season every year? Fantastic to plastic
breadandcheesebrother Posted 14 July 2009 Posted 14 July 2009 only candidate for a statue is milan mandaric. after all, he single handedly saved this club. there could even be a double statue of him having a bust-up with nigel pearson.

Single handedly, blimey thats melting the cheese a bit too much. Not even sky sports have the "bust up" story, infact the top LCFC story on sky sports is kisnorbo moving to derby, weak story.

Webbo Posted 14 July 2009 Author Posted 14 July 2009 Am I the only person who isn't keen on a statue at all? If you have to have something outside the ground can't we have a bit a sculpture/art like outside the City of Manchester Stadium?
jonthefox Posted 14 July 2009 Posted 14 July 2009 Am I the only person who isn't keen on a statue at all? If you have to have something outside the ground can't we have a bit a sculpture/art like outside the City of Manchester Stadium? havnt the tigers got a walk of fame or whatever planned for the new ground. for me a statue would be great, and i cant believe stoke beat us to a banks statue. how about a double statue of the two aurthers ..(rowley and chandler that is).
lildave3 Posted 14 July 2009 Posted 14 July 2009 How about Hollywood style stars all the way round the ground?
jonthefox Posted 14 July 2009 Posted 14 July 2009 How about Hollywood style stars all the way round the ground? its not a bad idea. i dont think we would all be able to agree on one player.
Salieri Posted 14 July 2009 Posted 14 July 2009 For me it would either have to be Arthur Rowley (All Time Football League record goalscorer, the majority of which were scored in a Leicester shirt) 251 goals in 303 games.
