Matt Posted 21 July 2009 Posted 21 July 2009 I've only hear Kasabian's and Florence + The Machine, Both great albums, Unfortunately I don't think Kasabian will win, the popular, most mainstream artist hardly ever wins, which is a good thing in most case's, the most popular and most mainstream is not necessarily always the best, however I think Kasabian should win. purpleronnie Posted 21 July 2009 Posted 21 July 2009 I dont like Kasabian, I've never liked glam rock. I do however like their attitude and lyrically they have something to say which is always a plus, but the music If I had to pick one it would be Lisa Hannigan or BFL.

Granted I havent heard much of their stuff but the song club foot was about some Czech student who cmmited suicide...seem to have political overtones.

They dedicated the song to Jan Palach in the video, but I wasn't aware that the lyrics were about him. Maybe I'm just not listening properly.

I'm going to stick my neck out and say they're the best live band in the world right now. I doubt anyone who saw them at Wembley in 2007 would disagree.
