You’ve seen me in every pub you ever visited , I’m the one who sidles up to you, and gives you an unsolicited full and frank explanation of what's wrong with the country/world before sliding off the bar stool .

Guest Bilo Posted 6 August 2009 Posted 6 August 2009 You only have to look back through the pages of this thread, let alone Bentley's Roof or the Mercury site to see the elements attracted to the campaign to save the bridge. Is that cause likely to be helped by having Lush/Ob1kanobe0 on board? I wouldn't have thought so. DavieG accuses me of "slanderous comments" (perhaps he should ask Lisa to explain to him what constitutes "slanderous"). Yet he was the first to engage in smear tactics, when making untrue comments about the relationship between the City Council and DMU. As such, the responsibility for escalatiing and inflaming the discussions on this topic lies primarily with him. I don't believe it's in this board's interest, or that of the club we claim to support, to stand idly by, when virulent racist propaganda is posted on ANY website with allegiances to Leicester City. Racism blights lives, wrecks communities and ultimately has far more damaging consequences for a city than either demolition or preservation of certain buildings. It beggars belief that I should have to argue the case against racism in 2009. Unfortunately, however, the reason for having to do so is because whenever people appear oin cyberspace to present the counter-argument, some folk (even uni graduates ) prefer to indulge rather than condemn them. In my daily life, I have no issues with being challenged and held to account - it goes with the job that I do. Unfortunately other folk in positions of authority seem very uncomfortable with being challenged. They delight in dishing out stick, yet squeal when it is handed back to them. Such hypocrisy should not be tolerated any more than racism. The trouble with your argument is that we frequently challenge those with racist views on this board, you only had to read the BNP threads to be able to see that. I for one certainly challenged racist posts on numerous occasions, be it anti-Semitism, Islamophobia or any other insidious far-right propaganda. Yet I'm far from being the most eloquent and vociferous challenger of racism on this forum. Others do it better and more often. Also, one of the BNP threads was pulled precisely because the views and racism posted on there could have reflected badly on the forum and club as a whole, in spite of the wealth of posters challenging the racist horse manure that some insisted on spouting. Nobody on this thread or any other can expect to post outright racist views and get away with it as there is a whole host of posters who will be happy to shoot their poison down in flames. You know it, I know it and the racist idiots know it too. It is desperately sad that we have to fight racism in 2009, but I've seen very little of it go unchallenged on this board so to paint yourself as the sole bastion of anti-racism on this board is misleading and sanctimonious to say the very least. As for accusing DavieG of 'squealing' when challenged, he certainly doesn't when met with legitimate debate. Smearing somebody as a racist without any real foundation does not fall into that category and I'm surprised that one so intelligent believes that it does.
Daggers Posted 6 August 2009 Posted 6 August 2009 The fact you choose to condemn me, instead of the bigot, tells us all we need to know.If I ever see you in a pub again, I won't enter it. End of. Please include me in this list - I'll be going to the Swan on Saturday and would feel much better in the knowledge that you will be somewhere else. I'm prepared to vote Nazi, like Jeremy Clarkson and have Leeds or Millwall as my second team in order to make it happen.
Guest Bilo Posted 6 August 2009 Posted 6 August 2009 I dunno, asking someone if they were going to compete in the Special Olympics because their spelling wasn't great was pretty pathetic. Especially when you consider he's meant to be an ambassador for that. Some forms of discrimination are less offensive than others apparently.
Zingari Posted 6 August 2009 Posted 6 August 2009 will you do the same for me please ? davieG Zingari Daggers

Bilo, I wouldn't stress over it buddy, It's not the first time Ultra has done this sort of thing and it won't be the last, in his eyes he's always correct!!

Such hypocrisy should not be tolerated any more than racism. Urgh what utter, utter tripe. Deflection through moralising where there's no need on a George Galloway scale. This is one of the best football forums on the internet because such elements are turned away and the thoughtful root-ball of established members are quick to combat idiocy and bigotry. I think you owe DavieG an apology. His arguments have been level-headed and straightforward even where I don't agree with them. You're being a cock.
Babylon Posted 6 August 2009 Posted 6 August 2009 I still want Ultra to answer me regarding the magazine. How is letting the Uni whack a giant building about 3 feet away from the magazine making it more of a "gateway into the city". That's what they said it was going to be when the original road alterations were taking place!! Now you can't even see the building until you are past it. Another council smokescreen.

Alexikokopops Posted 6 August 2009 Posted 6 August 2009 I hate those! Pipe down racist! I've had enough of your bridge supporting ways
Guest Bilo Posted 6 August 2009 Posted 6 August 2009 Pipe down racist! I've had enough of your bridge supporting ways  Lou only supports the bridge because it's a nice white bridge. Not like those foreign bridges. Coming over here, taking our graffiti.
Zingari Posted 6 August 2009 Posted 6 August 2009 "supporting a bridge" used to mean something quite different in the old Kray twins lingo
