Leicesterboi Posted 5 August 2009 Posted 5 August 2009 Any rumours about McGivern or Cleverley? I already posted about Cleverley in another thread but I cant find it now. Basically he has been playing pretty well in pre-season and Fergie would certainly like to keep him in the long term so any move would be a loan move. However, due to Hargreaves' injury problems he is wanting to hang on to Cleverley so any loan deal would be a late one and would not materialise within the next few weeks. Ferguson does like Cleverley and don't be suprised if he makes the bench for them in their first 5 games or so. But once Hargreaves has recovered, then he may well be back with us. Darron Gibson is currently ahead of him in the pecking order which is a positive for us.
CosbehFox Posted 5 August 2009 Posted 5 August 2009 The Sunderland press and the BBC are reporting we have signed him on loan. Not in the direct sense if you what I mean ie. it's on a Carlisle story.
Fox92 Posted 5 August 2009 Posted 5 August 2009 Has he actually signed? Seen it on Darlington online for some reason, seen it on Sky Sports.co.uk but nothing on Sky Sports 405 TV channel and on the official site (ours and Sunderlands).

Hackneyisblue Posted 5 August 2009 Posted 5 August 2009 Next week is when it's due to be put up Now confirmed http://www.thebluearmy.co.uk/news/Sunderla...il/article.html
flanimal Posted 5 August 2009 Posted 5 August 2009 If this kid turns out to be a proper goalscorer, this could be Pearson's best signing yet.
Hitesh Posted 5 August 2009 Posted 5 August 2009 Now confirmed http://www.thebluearmy.co.uk/news/Sunderla...il/article.html That's not the official site.
Hackneyisblue Posted 5 August 2009 Posted 5 August 2009 That's not the official site. fook me, I'm sorry you pedant Do you wait for the offal then, as it always seems to be miles behind everyone else. ;-)
billyfox1 Posted 5 August 2009 Posted 5 August 2009 That's not the official site. Sunderland manager Steve Bruce has confirmed that his 19-year-old striker Martyn Waghorn is joining Leicester City on loan.
milan_foxes Posted 5 August 2009 Posted 5 August 2009 http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,11712_5472375,00.html Thats A Proper Site
Rocky Dennis Posted 5 August 2009 Posted 5 August 2009 If this kid turns out to be a proper goalscorer, this could be Pearson's best signing yet. But will probably then get snapped op by a 'bigger' club like Sheff Utd, WBA or Middlesboro
Hackneyisblue Posted 5 August 2009 Posted 5 August 2009 http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,11712_5472375,00.htmlThats A Proper Site That won't be good enough, it must be confirmedby the offal, if not his papers won't go through. ;-)
Thor Posted 5 August 2009 Posted 5 August 2009 But will probably then get snapped op by a 'bigger' club like Sheff Utd, WBA or Middlesboro He might help us be a bigger club. I'd much rather have a young, talented, hungry striker who is keen to play for us than some of the useless dead wood we have signed permanently in recent years - and if the loanees that NP has attracted to the club are anything to go by, young, up and coming players are keen to play for us and their clubs are happy for them to come here. That can only benefit us, even if they do eventually return to their own clubs - and not all do return, as Hobbs and others demonstrate.
Hitesh Posted 5 August 2009 Posted 5 August 2009 fook me, I'm sorry you pedantDo you wait for the offal then, as it always seems to be miles behind everyone else. ;-) I was only messing around! I know what you mean about the OS - it is terrible for keeping up to date.
lou Posted 5 August 2009 Posted 5 August 2009 But will probably then get snapped op by a 'bigger' club like Sheff Utd, WBA or Middlesboro Christ weve not announced weve signed him yet and youve already offloaded him
Hackneyisblue Posted 5 August 2009 Posted 5 August 2009 Christ weve not announced weve signed him yet and youve already offloaded him I think Rocky Denise is having some decorating done.
Rocky Dennis Posted 5 August 2009 Posted 5 August 2009 I think Rocky Denise is having some decorating done. Vert witty, you should be on 'Have I got news for you' My point is, if he isnt up to much its a waste of time, if hes great and scores loadsa goals he may be off just like Davies, so pointless either way IMO. Far better to give Kee a chance I reckon!!
flanimal Posted 5 August 2009 Posted 5 August 2009 Not pointless if he gets enough goals to make us Premier League boundd! He would make us millions of pounds, so if he moves on, so what? It's about getting from one place to another.
haraven Posted 5 August 2009 Posted 5 August 2009 Big welcome to Waghorn, wonder if he is good enough for first team rotation
Maybes Posted 5 August 2009 Posted 5 August 2009 Not pointless if he gets enough goals to make us Premier League boundd! He would make us millions of pounds, so if he moves on, so what? It's about getting from one place to another. Chill the still!
smudger63 Posted 5 August 2009 Posted 5 August 2009 If this kid turns out to be a proper goalscorer, this could be Pearson's best signing yet. Billy kee 46 goals in 43 youth and reserve games, maybe, just maybe, we already have that proper goalscorer at the club! I hope waghorn proves a big sucess here and does the buisness, but hes only a year older than kee, with not that much more experience at senior level. So we could have given one of our own a chance, before helping to develop a player for sunderland.
flanimal Posted 5 August 2009 Posted 5 August 2009 I think they're trying to nurture Kee, start him off small, build him up. Waghorn has at least played in the Premier League and Championship, he's a better bet. Throwing Kee in the mix could ruin his confidence.

True, but is playing kee, or indeed, chambers, really any more of a gamble than playing waghorn. Like i say, i hope he does well here, but i would rather give our own young prospects, theyre chance to prove themselves first, than somebody else`s young prospect.
