rico Posted 9 August 2009 Posted 9 August 2009 The guy who was sitting next to me was hit by a thrown can of beer and the lad in front of me was hit by a 5p thrown by Swansea fans
Bryn Posted 9 August 2009 Posted 9 August 2009 Did anyone else think that their number 2 - Ashley Williams - was class? Scored their goal too and with his pace at the back really kept us quiet in the first half. Yep, looked a good defender. If we ever find ourselves in the market for a centreback (not likely right now! But perhaps if we were to lose Tunchev or something) he'd be a different option to what we have. A real athlete, full of pace and strong, and dealt better with Waghorn than did their other centreback.
carterfox90 Posted 10 August 2009 Posted 10 August 2009 a game of 2 halves & well done to nigel for sorting it out at half time was worried at half time as we were so poor & they were'nt that great a team glad to be back at the walkers & thank god the footys back :D
Guest Posted 10 August 2009 Posted 10 August 2009 The fact that some ****** in L1 were doing their utmost to get 'Ten German Bombers' started about ten minutes (?) into the game worried me greatly, other than that kind of crap the atmosphere was decent in there. I did like the fact it died at seven. I wasn't sure if it was the lack of interest or whether people had lost count.
Katy Posted 10 August 2009 Posted 10 August 2009 It's called being gutted. When you have no explanation why your team lost. So you just speak shit, I should know I've done it plenty of times. I've learnt how to do it gracefully after last year's League One humble pie. Loved Wellens winding them up after all the stick they handed out earlier in the game and his past history. I have to admit I did this after we lost to Swindon in the play off final, I went wappy at everyone who walked past who supported Swindon. Shameful scenes. Meant to say also was loving the Kings of Leon track being played before the PHG.. thought it was the perfect build up! Then they had to go and spoil it with the Chelsea Dagger shite again! I too dont get people saying we were crap 1st half etc... I thought we were the better side regardless of them scoring and wasnt feeling despondant I looked across when we scored and was amused to see Tommeh, C-man and Flynny just standing there whilst CD was playing. It's wank, it ruins celebrating goals when that shit plays.
john_lcfc Posted 10 August 2009 Posted 10 August 2009 will we shift a few more season tickets on the back of this win? and how many ST holders do we have now?
Daggers Posted 10 August 2009 Posted 10 August 2009 I did like the fact it died at seven. I wasn't sure if it was the lack of interest or whether people had lost count. Couldn't hear any of them, for the first time - it was nice.
suffolk fox Posted 10 August 2009 Posted 10 August 2009 It's a shame they were just standing there - because the vast majority of City fans were going ballistic coz we had scored an won our 1st game of the season - Celebrating!! Regardless of the crap music played!!!!

If you're referring to my post, they did applaud etc just didn't do a prolonged jump around and dance routine.
Corky Posted 10 August 2009 Posted 10 August 2009 Delighted that the original PHG is back, I don't mind the jazzed-up version being used for the second half either.
Flynny Posted 10 August 2009 Posted 10 August 2009 It's a shame they were just standing there - because the vast majority of City fans were going ballistic coz we had scored an won our 1st game of the season - Celebrating!!Regardless of the crap music played!!!! If it's any comfort for you I almost had my ankles around my ears I was jumping about that much, and nearly knocked C-man into the row opposite. I'd just calmed down sufficiently by the time the music started not to want to dance like an aunty at a wedding.
Daggers Posted 10 August 2009 Posted 10 August 2009 I simply maintained a dignified polite clap, in the style of a Capello at the Charity Shield Bobby Robson tribute.
lou Posted 10 August 2009 Posted 10 August 2009 If you're referring to my post, they did applaud etc just didn't do a prolonged jump around and dance routine. Same as me then! Celebrated before the music came on then stood and applauded
