Apologies if this has already been asked.........

But what was wrong with Tunch, im assuming he's still working his way back to full fitness? hence why he wasn't even on the bench.

I don't really get the criticism of the first half. The Swans goal came about from some poor defending, but they didn't threaten us at all. I thought that we kept possession well, and passed the ball about nicely, but we just didn't look like scoring. The way some people are posting, and from moaning at the game, you would have thought that the side had forgotten how to play football or something.

The substitution was inspired; N'Guessan and Waghorn gave the attack the much needed pace, and from looking unlikely to score, we could have won that game by 3 or 4 goals, and not just the 1 in the end. Wellens was superb in midfield, just the kind of player that we've been missing in recent years.

I can't understand the reaction of the Swansea fans, I mean, who do they think they are? There was a woman in there end who was mouthing off to any City fan that dared to look at her ranting, as we were leaving the stadium yesterday. It was hilarious to watch.

As for the trouble, I am not surprised. Our twats were out in force yesterday. Seriously, surely people have better things to spend there time and money on than staring at 3,000 away fans for 90 minutes and giving them the odd gesture.

The Swansea fans have no right. We are one of their biggest away days all season.

They came. They saw. They sulked. They left.

Hopefully, we will never play them at home again.

Unfortunately, the chilvalry that was there between us and opposition fans won't be so widespread this season. That's the way it is.

We're in the league with 'big' teams in it. And Swansea are huge, or at least their fans think so.

It's called being gutted. When you have no explanation why your team lost. So you just speak shit, I should know I've done it plenty of times. I've learnt how to do it gracefully after last year's League One humble pie. Loved Wellens winding them up after all the stick they handed out earlier in the game and his past history.

This :appl:

Very much on the money. First half performance was very like the end of last season when we struggles to clinch the champions spot, not bad but a bit sluggish and not much threat going forward. Did not help that neither King nor Fryatt looked anything like match fit.

NP's moves at half time brought the kind of big, inspirational changes we rarely saw last term, maybe he really does have an adventurous streak after all.

Pace and movement up front made all the difference, with players to hit and options available our midfield looked different class, very, very promising.

Sounds like Waghorn had an impressive 45 minutes chasing and harrying but let's give Fryatt a break. When fully fit we will again rely on his goals this season - and King's, too.

swans fans are saying some of there boys were up for it yesterday ..i saw them stood outside the away end trying to look hard .......they said they went for some city fans but as soon as leicester went back at them ..the swansea fans ran to the cops for help....anybody see anything.

Agree with 99% of that. The thing about the first half was though that we never looked anywhere near threatening either.

Leicester fan got hit outside holiday inn.

Then swansea fans shit it when all fans came out the bar and got back in the minibus.

The first half was the poorest I've seen from us on an opening day since THAT Bolton game in 01. Did we even have a shot?

Credit to Pearson, though, for turning it around after the break. In the end, a 4-1 scoreline wouldn't have flattered us (and would have taken us above the sheep).

Waghorn was superb, closing defenders down and chasing EVERY through ball. His style is similar to Dickov at his peak, but with more pace. Barring injury, I expect him to be our top scorer at Christmas.

N'Guessan, although playing deeper than he would have wished (probably to help out Morrison against the dangerous Dyer) was also impressive, finishing well for the winner and sending over some useful crosses.

Some of the younger members of the squad now know that they'll have to raise their game and maintain that form on a regular basis to compete at Championship level.

The only sour note was struck by the boorish behaviour of some Swansea fans (and sadly some of our lot as well) after the game. I hope that doesn't spill over into trouble at their place in January..:(

Two very contrasting halves.

1st 45 mins - Goes to show that we started nervous (sort of expected for the first game of the season) and tried to rely on high balls in to Howard. Although he won his fair share, an unfit Fryatt couldn't read or reach many of them. Also Lloyd Dyer kept coming inside way too deep at times. If I were Pearson I'd have him hugging the touch-line and encouraging him to go on more of his runs. This coupled with Oakley's ineffective wing play meant that we were very narrow. I'm just glad we were playing a team without much attacking options themselves. Silly defending lead to their goal.

2nd 45 mins - No doubt Pearson had some choice words to throw around the dressing room during the break. A bold move to make a double substitution at the start of the second half. What a change! We had width again with N'Guessan down the left and Oakley linking up with Wellans to control our playing style. All of a sudden we started playing possession football full of short and direct passing. Full credit to Waghorn and N'Guessan - let's hope these sort of performances get repeated time and time again. Adams introduction too helped to change our attitude in getting the ball forward.

Overall a fully deserved result. Swansea didn't provide the sort of challenge I expect in this league (albeit a nice intro for us). Using Howard as a target man should be just one option of many that we have in our armoury. With our several wing options and a young, hungry striker, the future looks bright. Finally a word on our defence. Mattocks exit won't hurt us one bit. Bruno had a cracking game today. Hobbs and Morrison continue to get better. Then we have Mr Wayne Brown! Nuff said :D

First half we were absolutely crap. The team didnt turn up, and swansea had loads of possession, and our defenders were just hoofing it all the time. But it all changed! On comes Waghorn & N'guessan

I think Waghorn looks a great player, and if you seen him on some of N'guessan's crosses he did some right cheeky flicks and back heels infront of goal! Good player. The way he chases down the ball, and doesnt give an inch for the defenders, reminds me of paul dickov to be honest. Hes strong for his size aswell, i thought it was a bit of a desperate signing by pearson, but its turned out to be a good signing. However, we cant judge him on just 45 mins, but his debut has been very good so far and im impressed.

I think N'Guessan should be a starter - he has everything. Pace, power, strength, size.. everything a winger would love to have.

N'guessan & Gradel down the wings

P.S - Armand Traore would of sorted that Nathan Dyer right out. Nathan Dyer wouldnt of had a second to run, with Armand Traore at left back  Dyer was the only threat, but swansea will do shit this season.

A adolescent swansea fan tryed to give it some, but as soon as a leicester fan went for him he actually ran the other way. We were all in stitches laughing!

Agree with you entirely, we completely dominated the first half, it's just the formation and lineup was wrong. I think most people were saying King and Fryatt off, Waghorn and N'Guessan or Gradel on, and that's exactly what we got, it was glaringly obvious (though no less to Pearson's credit, it takes bravery to make early changes when it is in fact you who is responsible).

For a club who has recently graced the dizzy heights of the second tier, they do have a massive superiority complex.

They're a bunch of nobodies....meh.

I know a really sound Swans fan off the net and he says they really do have some nobhead fans, who thought they were God's gift last season and have just got really deluded high ideas about themselves. But he also said they had a lot to be be proud of which makes their performance yesterday really disappointing.

My Swans fan said Swansea were shit yesterday and we looked impressive if not a bit dirty which is a fair assessment I'd say.

Oh and re: Nathan Dyer, I think Berner shackled him well but he did look dangerous, I think if the rest of their attack was worth anything he'd have done some damage.

I did say that we didn't look like scoring, so you can make that 100%. Go on, twice in a week (three times if you count the Talking Balls one) isn't that hard to do, is it?

haha, is that a joke to dyers size? Anyway, berner did play pretty well :D

Was pretty funny when a group of them started to do the mandatory slash your neck motion to some of us in the family stand. As with every club up and down the country, some of their fans were pathetic idiots.

There were more than enough idiots of our own in L1 doing that. I found it quite pathetic, in all honesty. It's because of twats like these that we all get treated like scum by the police, "ordinary" members of the public, et al.

Yesterday second half - loved it.

Waghorn is an absolute gem!!

Dany N'guessan

Nicky Adams playing a one - two with the corner flag

Atmosphere - L and K definitely getting bigger (numbers-wise) and louder. Cracking stuff!!!!

I'm improving :)

I still reserve the right to be an argumentative tw@t when the mood takes me though. ^_^
