Sky Blue Posted 9 August 2009 Posted 9 August 2009 Evening all, For a start i'd like to say well done on your instant return back to the championship... although admittedly i would've found slightly amusing if you were still in league 1 now . Good result yesterday as well, Swansea are a good side (well they were last season anyhow) and you did well to come from a goal down to win. But the best news of the weekend, and i'm sure you'll all agree, is that the sky blues have today matched your result with a 2-1 win over the tractor boys! GET IN!!! Anyway, where do you hope to finish this season? Cheers, Sky Blue

Vlad The Impaler Posted 9 August 2009 Posted 9 August 2009 Above you. We don't need to worry about that Good win today though tbf
Unit Posted 9 August 2009 Posted 9 August 2009 god you lot are all a bit angry! makes this look like WACCOE however, my mam's from coventry (that's why my house stinks of shit) and so I'd LOVE to finish above cov
Matt Posted 9 August 2009 Posted 9 August 2009 I listened to abit of your game in the car, You sounded quite poor tbh, The commentator was questioning if you could hang on, and was counting down every minute (Literally, every minute), at one point thought he might start counting the seconds too. When the final whistle blew sounded the commentator celebrated as if you'd won the league or something. I can't really judge too much from the radio commentary though as in the past some of the Leicester commentators have seemed to report the opposite of what was actually happening. 16,000 there today apparently too, is that actually right or have they plucked numbers from the air again? Cos' whenever i've been to the Ricoh (For Covscum v Leicester games) there has never been 16,000+ there I know.
AoWW Posted 9 August 2009 Posted 9 August 2009 If only people could be civil in return. Exactly. *sigh* Play nicely, children.
The Doctor Posted 9 August 2009 Posted 9 August 2009 Above you. well in all honesty thats impossible because 24th is bottom so we can't finish lower than that.
MC Prussian Posted 9 August 2009 Posted 9 August 2009 Ideally, I'd love to see us finish 1st in the Midlands, above Coventry, Derby, Nottingham and maybe even West Brom (although I don't consider them direct rivals, and particularely not this season ). So, make of it what you want, but we can't drop further than 21st with that calculation and as high as 1st in the league :. Yeah, I'm a tad bit optimistic tonight. I admit that.

Cheers, Sky Blue hi there I reckon Cov Derby Forest and Leicester are going to be clustered together around mid table for most of the season and we will have a bit of a seperate ( but ultimately meaningless) competition among ourselves

Cos' whenever i've been to the Ricoh (For Covscum v Leicester games) there has never been 16,000+ there I know. We weren't poor tbh, slightly weak in the air when defending set pieces but that was sorted when Elliot Ward came on. Ipswich dominated the second half without doubt and they really should've scored but we weren't poor, definitely not. In fact we completely dominated the first half and were clinical in our finishing, i strongly advise you to watch Morrison's first goal... absolute peach of a finish! I must admit the attendance was poor anyway, but i think they're kicking us while we're down with saying that only 16,000 turned up, definitely looked more than that. But saying that, the fact that it was on TV, a lot of fans being on holiday, the team being consistently shite and ticket prices being absurdly expensive for the quality of 'entertainment' we have to put up with then you can't blame us too much for that turn out! Aah look at me, trying to get sympathy from Leicester fans

Aah look at me, trying to get sympathy from Leicester fans Morrison's finish (infact, finishes) was (were) indeed terrific. To be fair, you were very impressive for the first half hour and your left-back from Chelsea looks electric. Ipswich did dominate the second half and you were lucky with a few offside decisions but I probably wouldn't have begrudged you the victory. You do have shit fans though. As do we (to a lesser extent).
Corky Posted 9 August 2009 Posted 9 August 2009 Didn't see the match but a win over Ipswich, especially with all the hype surrounding them, is a good result. But you seem to start well every year, win the first couple then fall away.
Head Honcho Posted 9 August 2009 Posted 9 August 2009 I'd just glad Cov got the three points rather then Keane.
flanimal Posted 9 August 2009 Posted 9 August 2009 Yeah, don't like Keane. Why do people say he is a good manager? Didn't he spend £70m while Sunderland manager and he created a team that was shite. Shocking. Fail to understand why Ipswich fans kiss his arse. But yeah, good job winning.
jonw88 Posted 9 August 2009 Posted 9 August 2009 Sounded like there was absolutely no atmosphere there today, barely heard a single song all match. Just wait till our fans turn up for the infamous M69 derby, their fans will be deafened.
lildave3 Posted 9 August 2009 Posted 9 August 2009 Sounded like there was absolutely no atmosphere there today, barely heard a single song all match. That's what happens when you only have one song.
Joe. Posted 9 August 2009 Posted 9 August 2009 Yeah, don't like Keane. Why do people say he is a good manager? Didn't he spend £70m while Sunderland manager and he created a team that was shite. Shocking. Fail to understand why Ipswich fans kiss his arse. But yeah, good job winning. He got Sunderland there in the first place. Took them over when they were struggling in the Championship after a few games and turned them into a promotion winning side. That's to answer your question about where all the hype comes from...
Bert Posted 9 August 2009 Posted 9 August 2009 That's what happens when you only have one song. We all sing together..... WE WILL NEVER LOSE!
flanimal Posted 9 August 2009 Posted 9 August 2009 Suppose Keane did do a good job to get Sunderland up, fair enough. But a lot of managers have got teams out of The Championship only be shit in The Premier League, and I think Keane is one of those guys.
theoxonfox Posted 9 August 2009 Posted 9 August 2009 Why do u need such a big ground?ive never seen coventry as a threat, only the sheep!
flanimal Posted 9 August 2009 Posted 9 August 2009 Derby always have massive crowds. Whatever people say about them, the fans pack it.
