demon_dog Posted 20 August 2009 Posted 20 August 2009 Can't see the point in booing. He always gave his all for the club when playing. Was one of our high wage earners who had to leave, so can't blame him for that. As has been said, he suffered a horrific injury that could have ended his career, will clap him if he comes on.
Thracian Posted 20 August 2009 Posted 20 August 2009 I've nothing against the guy at all and think he deserves a decent reception. At an abysmal time in our club's history he was one of the few who always seemed to give his all for 90 minutes whatever the situation. It's still painful thinking about some of the rest.

sham Posted 20 August 2009 Posted 20 August 2009 Knowitall openly stated that Iain Hume was told he was no longer needed by the club and they had accepted a bid from Barnsley. To all those people who will be Booing him, that is harsh for a player who did wear his heart on his sleeve and did re-iterate that he would like to stay and fight for his place at Leicester City.
sham Posted 20 August 2009 Posted 20 August 2009 __ On a different note, why didn't he want to leave apparently? Nigel stated that 'the players that wanted to leave came to see me and we had a talk and then they left the club because they didn't want to play for the club.' Does Hume fit in to that because there were only 3 that went? Anway, there was only Stearman that made a good move. I don't think anyone will boo him. I hope you're right Ozwin. However, to reaffirm my statement earlier. Below are a couple posts from knowitall i have managed to dig up: Posted on: Jun 25 2008, 05:59 PM Had a meal with Iain hume and his wife last night. i wondered why he arranged this meal quick. Was so gutted when he told me. I am still in shock today. Thinking I may quit Leicester to work somewhere else.James Wesolowski and Matty Fryatt are in line for a move away from Leicester. Depends what Nigel Pearson says to them. Louis Dodds wants to sign for Lincoln. Lincoln over Leicester oh dear. Because Barnsley came up with the cash. Iain got a phone call 2 days ago out of the blue. " Barnsley have made an offer for you and we have accepted it. Can you ring """"""" """" and see if you can arrange terms?" You mean I am not in Leicester's plans. "NO". Tell me whom out there would stay at a club who no longer wanted you. Truth is none of you. Good Luck Iain.
The Doctor Posted 20 August 2009 Posted 20 August 2009 I've got a pig's head ready and waiting. don't get it.
bigneville Posted 20 August 2009 Posted 20 August 2009 Will get a good round of a applause for me. Always gave his best, and as noted, was forced out rather than wanting to leave.
flanimal Posted 20 August 2009 Posted 20 August 2009 Overrated, left when he should've stayed. No applause from me. The only reason I'd clap him is for surviving that skull-crusher, not for any average Leicester games he played in.

Bert Posted 20 August 2009 Posted 20 August 2009 You do know he was forced out of the club? Certainly will be showing my appreciation towards him.
markbsac Posted 20 August 2009 Posted 20 August 2009 You do know he was forced out of the club?Certainly will be showing my appreciation towards him. he still drinks in my mates pub in loughborough....ive seen texts from him to my mate when he was forced out..he never wanted to leave ....i know that for a fact boo him never...he loved it at the walkers
Karljohn Posted 20 August 2009 Posted 20 August 2009 I'll put my hands together for Humey, always gave us as much as he could and was a standout in a dire period of doom and gloom, without him it would have been far worse. And having given Morgan a barrage of (hume related) abuse on Tuesday night id feel a bit of a 2 faced twat if I booed on Saturday.
Simi Posted 20 August 2009 Posted 20 August 2009 Why clap someone that gave 110%? It's the minimum any player should give.
flanimal Posted 20 August 2009 Posted 20 August 2009 Whether he left to escape or left to help the club, I just don't rate him that highly, I think he's overrated bigtime. And Ched nailed it, every player should give their all, that's what they get paid for.
Fox92 Posted 20 August 2009 Posted 20 August 2009 Why clap someone that gave 110%? It's the minimum any player should give. Completely agree to be honest. Whether he left to escape or left to help the club, I just don't rate him that highly, I think he's overrated bigtime. And Ched nailed it, every player should give their all, that's what they get paid for. To be honest I agree with you. Also, I don't think he left because we didn't want him I think he jumped ship and I don't care whether who told who and whatever, I think he jumped ship and Nigel stated it on the DVD - well he talks about the players that did leave. But whether he did this or that, I don't like him and wouldn't clap him. I don't rate him and he moved to a poorer club.
20mj08 Posted 20 August 2009 Posted 20 August 2009 crnt make the game but i wouldnt have reacted to his name or him, i dont think we will find out exactly why he left but i guess money had a part to do with it, glad so see him back in the game but we have moved on now
andyh1884 Posted 20 August 2009 Posted 20 August 2009 If people boo him, won't it just sound very similar to HUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUME and therefore not really have the desired affect of showing your displeasure?
lcfc_jme Posted 20 August 2009 Posted 20 August 2009 He's still shit. Why does anyone even care about him? He's just another opposition player, no more, no less.
clazkel Posted 20 August 2009 Posted 20 August 2009 I think if he didn't have the head injury he would've got a half decent recption, but i think the reception he will get now will be really good. Normally when an ex player gets a good reception something happens in the game and you want to boo them (Bunn for example). I think i will say HUUUUMMMMMEEEE, just because i miss saying it. I was gutted when he left especially after he made out he would stay, but i dont know the circumstances around him leaving. He always gave his all, sometimes too much when he gave away silly fouls.
Guest Chocolate Teapot Posted 20 August 2009 Posted 20 August 2009 He's still shit. Why does anyone even care about him? He's just another opposition player, no more, no less. He was better than most of the shit that got us relegated and I think had his hands tied when he wanted to move.
One Half Wonder Posted 20 August 2009 Posted 20 August 2009 Well seeing as he left when the club were relegated I thought some may boo him. As above, may get a good reception but everytime he gets the ball he may get jeered. As long as he doesn't do what Mark Bunn did if they score. what did Mark Bunn do?
