Can someone explain to me why he got more personal applause, almost every time he touched ball than any of our players. Fair enough applaud him if you want when his names read out but allthe way through the game -WTF

Hume takes corners down the Kop end and gets applauded every time. Gallagher, who we've just signed on a 3 year contract gets a seemingly grudgingly belated round of applause after his second corner.

Bring back the real Kop with a some aggressive passionate support, it's like the social services down there now.

Calm down davieG, it's only a game. :P

Agreed, couldn't believe that he kept getting clapped, fair enough at the start of the game but not all the way through.

Had nothing against clapping him, welcoming him back but did find it abit cringworthy and annoying that it went on throughout the game, whenever he touched the ball "HUUUUUUUME" rang out, When he came over to take a corner he got more applause and support than when one of our own players took a corner.

Before the game fine, during the game, Why?

Always thought he was a good player, now I realise he was just the best of a shit team.

Barnsley look seriously fooked...

Disagree, they had more about them over the 90 minutes than Swansea did. They've got some decent players, Jamal Campbell-Ryce was a handful all game.

Yes, I'd be more worried if I were a Swansea fan.

No don't calm down, you were doing so well :P But your correct.

Some of them were shouting for him more than our own flippin' players. To be honest, I didn't clap him because I don't like him anymore as he left the club (and I know you all say that he didn't want to leave but I think he did).

Always thought he was a good player, now I realise he was just the best of a shit team.

Yep, Barnsley are pretty shocking.

They played some football at times but went long more than most times. Hume was out wide and didn't impress me, as someone said he made the headless chicken thing look good.

For me, I am glad he went. He wouldn't get in our side now. I wanted us to tonk Barnsley though so he could look up and this 'why the hell did I leave to go to Barnsley'...

I boo'd, with right. City fans were loving him for the whle game

 I know. Clapping and singing for me.

I didn't boo but I didn't clap although the people around me and around the ground count him as a somewhat 'hero'. They loved him. I didn't.

Hume was actually applauded all the way through the game and given more support than our own players? Shocker.

I certainly do miss home games lol:rolleyes:

What kind of ridiculous fooking home support is that?

Can't believe the applause Hume got during the game. Truly awful home support.

Fair enough he deserved the round of applause when his name was read out, but to clap him everytime he took a corner.... No doubt the same ****** who want Chelsea Dagger back.

I bet that if our fans booed him and gave him shit throughout the game, he would have smashed that one in. Seeing it on the BBC highlights show did kind of remind me of when we were away to Reading in the cup and Les Ferdinand missed an absolutely glorious chance agianst us and our fans were singing "We've got Les Ferdinand". lol

Difficult to tell what was a booooo and what was a Huuuuummme to be honest haha, but yes, this is the guy that, ok had an horrendous injury and has been very brave to come back from it but he still said he was staying with us and then fooked off at the earliest opportunity. I didn't hear any of our players getting that sort of reception. Leicester fans are quite extraordinarily pathetic sometimes.

Absolutly spot on...all this hero worship gets out of hand, and nothing summed that up better than his miss in the second half....it is without doubt the same sort of misses he made of us, along with missing the odd penalty that saw us drop down to Div 1.. and then piss off and leave us. energentic, yes...enthusiastic and wholehearted yes....proven and quality scorer of 20 plus a season...I dont think so.

I think it's fair to say he wouldn't have got that reaction if he hadn't had such a dreadful last year with the fractured skull and everything.

I think most applause was through people showing their support for a man that has had a tough time of late.

If he hadn't had such a bad year I don't think he would have got half the applause

And just for the record, I'm not saying I think that is the correct treatment.

I just think it is just human nature to show a bit of compassion. Maybe a bit over the top, but I'd much prefer that to the Barnsley fans singing "Engerland, engerland, engerland"

Or are they real fans because they're racists that go to away matches?

I don't deny that he was one of the better players in that team, but it's hardly an achievement to boast about, is it? Honestly, Hume played the headless chicken role to perfection, and for that he gets credit because at least he didn't stop running like many others did. I just don't think he deserves anything like the hero status he has at our club. I don't see how that's wrong, really? I actually think it's a shame we as a set of fans have had to resort to idolising somebody just because they run around like a headless chicken all game when that's the minimum we should expect. Still, guess I'm in the minority and it's just my opinion, eh?

Yeah, he's had a bad injury. As has Eduardo, as has Petr Cech, as has James Wesolowski.

Immature comments? Oh, because I gave my opinion on him and it doesn't agree with the mainstream?

As if it was difficult to have stood out in our team that season? Seriously, most fans on the terraces would've given 110% effort on the pitch and not stopped running all game if they had the chance. I don't see why I should single him out as some kind of hero just because he ran and ran and ran. He played for us, wasn't brilliant, and now he plays for somebody else. Woop de fucking woop.

Shine the light, all I said was that I would give him a little clap him if I was up there! I didn't say he was a hero, just that maybe he deserves a big of a clap because he's come back from a serious injury, plus he made the shittest period in our history a little more bearable

Oh, and I actually went to watch Arsenal reserves against Portsmouth reserves when Eduardo made his first appearance in about a year. Gave him a bit of a clap too
