foxoffderby Posted 29 August 2009 Posted 29 August 2009 Why don't you go to the police and tell them what you know If it's true, and if they haven't done so already, the police might contact Worrell's friend who suddenly has information. they know already its not public knowledge though
MPH Posted 29 August 2009 Posted 29 August 2009 Why? Is it somehow better to promote a situation where folk can instead stick knives in defenceless people? And in the knowledge that they'll likely be dealt with leniently when they do. two separate issues there. Countries that have a much more relaxed attitude to guns, like America , have a much much higher murder by guns ratio - i researched this actually and it was something like 12 times higher than the UK even though they have only 5 times our population. Now the other situation - knives... absolutely right... we are too relaxed on people who are responsible for knife crime and this needs to be addressed and addressed rather urgently IMHO..
Uncle Albert Posted 30 August 2009 Posted 30 August 2009 Spoke to a friend of mine who went to school with Worrell in Derby this morning he also trains with him at the same gym. When this goes to court some shocking news will come out about Davenport. Before it I go into this I've just heard this second hand and Im not taking sides and totally condone any type of violence.Actually before I put this on the web can a mod reply back and tell me what I can and cannot say about a live case I dont want to get myself into trouble, it involves Davenports part in this which has not been reported in the media thanks sorry guys as not to put this site or myself in trouble I wont be posting my thoughts. All I will say the media has not reported everything that has happened and not all the events leading to the stabbing. How are you putting this site or yourself in trouble? Nobody know's who you are in person and how can FoxesTalk get in trouble because of this.

Because if he posts something that is libellous then Mark as the forum owner can be sued as he's legally responsible for the content whether he's posted it or not.

Libellous? All this bloke is saying is his opinion and what he has heard from somewhere, surely it's just like someone saying that they know a transfer is happening but it hasnt come out yet. Abit like Knowitall.

Abit like Knowitall. I never said that what he'd already posted was libellous. It's what he says he hasn't posted, which I understand has got nothing to do with football transfers that 'might be construed' as libellous. As Lisa will tell you it's a very grey area of law so it's not worth the risk to Mark to be posting 'dodgy' stuff.

davieG Posted 30 August 2009 Posted 30 August 2009 I meant what does libellous mean? Writing something about someone that is malicious or defamatory and can be proven to be untrue. So if you wrote that I was a thief and I can prove that to be untrue I can sue you for damages if you wrote it on here I could sue Mark. 1. Law. a. defamation by written or printed words, pictures, or in any form other than by spoken words or gestures. b. the act or crime of publishing it. c. a formal written declaration or statement, as one containing the allegations of a plaintiff or the grounds of a charge. 2. anything that is defamatory or that maliciously or damagingly misrepresents.
Guest Posted 31 August 2009 Posted 31 August 2009 There's also the issue that posting something in the public domain that would be relied upon during the trial could be in contempt of court. Whatever it is may be known by people, and stuff may be passed around by word of mouth, but it's a different matter if it's published in any form, which is why we won't be reading about it in the press until any trial takes place. The reason behind it is to ensure that the trial is held fairly, and that the jury don't have any 'inside knowledge' for want of a better phrase. I would rather that stuff like this isn't posted on the forum itself, just in case.

Lovejoy Posted 31 August 2009 Posted 31 August 2009 Good ol' Bedford . I know the area in question quite well, bit of a surprise that anything more than yobbish chavs getting lairy actually happened for once.

Or even suggesting that someone has racist motives if they support certain bridges in Leicester...
Part Of The Crowd Posted 28 October 2009 Posted 28 October 2009 He's been charged with assault (or causing actual bodily harm depending on wording) Shocking!
Turtles Head Posted 28 October 2009 Posted 28 October 2009 He's the one that got fooking stabbed! Just because he was the victim of the worse crime, doesn't mean he should get away with what he did
Wycombe Fox Posted 28 October 2009 Posted 28 October 2009 When this goes to court some shocking news will come out about Davenport. Must be something to do with this.
Ford Super Sunday Posted 28 October 2009 Posted 28 October 2009 Just because he was the victim of the worse crime, doesn't mean he should get away with what he did What do you mean 'what he did?' He hasn't 'done anything' yet. If a court of law finds him guilty of the offence for which he has been charged, then you can judge away and make comments like that. Till then, let's not make snap posts, demonising a person for something they haven't been found guilty of yet.

Was neither judging nor demonising.
lou Posted 28 October 2009 Posted 28 October 2009 IF Davenport HAD assaulted his Sister the right thing to do would have been to call the Police NOT get your (seemingly dodgy) boyfriend to stab him (as it appears) Dont think Ive libelled anyone but feel free to delete if you think I have
Head Honcho Posted 28 October 2009 Posted 28 October 2009 He's been charged with assault (or causing actual bodily harm depending on wording)Shocking! His sister looked a a right charmer when this first surfaced he must be very proud of her
