acooling08 Posted 26 September 2009 Posted 26 September 2009 Weale - 8 - Some good catches and kicks. Not at fault for either goal. Neilson - 5 - Poor. Brown - 5 - What has happened to Browny? He just kept backing off and off when being ran at. Tunchev - 7 - OK. Not his usual brilliant self. Berner - 8 - Best defender, did pretty well. Scored. N'Guessan - 4 - What the fuck was that Dany? Wellens - 5 - Not fully fit surely. At fault for their first goal Oakley - 6 - Did OK. Gallagher - 8 - MOTM. Did well even though he's being played out of position. Howard - 6.5 - Deservedly booked. Won quite a few headers against a very tall PNE defense. Fryatt - 8 - Looked good although he got bad service from midfiled. Nearly scored a great goal. SUBS: Dyer - 4 - Can't cut it in the Championship. Waghorn - 5 - Hardly touched the ball Kermogant - 6 Pearson - 3 - First time I've really questioned his tactics. He made bad substitutions, failed to motivate the lads at half time, shouldn't have player Wellens at all or Gallagher out of position.

However, rating Big Steve as 7 is a joke! did he have an effort at goal all game? He is a striker remember...

chrisfox Posted 26 September 2009 Posted 26 September 2009 Weale - 7 - Still needs to command his area better Neilson - 4 - caught out oo many times by the overlapping player Brown - 3 - really really poor, where was hobbs? Tunchev - 7 - Fairly solid Berner - 8 - good game all round from Bruno, nice goal as well N'Guessan - 3 - no pace, no skill, no end product 'nuff said Wellens - 5 - clearly not fit Oakley - 6 - good in spells, poor in others Gallagher - 8 - MOTM for me, Howard - 5 - needs to be dropped next game in my opinion Fryatt - 7 - Looked good, but should have taken at least 1 of his chances SUBS: Dyer - 5 - pretty ineefective Waghorn - 5 - see Dyer Kermogant - 5 - not really enough time to make an impact Pearson - 2 - Don't get why out of the 2 strikers that have been playing Hobbs was the one to be dropped for Tunchev. Poor subs today as well
Bluefoxtim Posted 26 September 2009 Posted 26 September 2009 Weale - 8 - Thought he could have distributed the balls a bit quicker. Neilson - 3 - Oh dear, seems so far out of his depth, prior to his wild shot at the end, everyone stood up and shouted NO NO NO, knowing exactly what would happen. Brown - 4 - He backs off all the time. Don't dive in, but if you back off and give the man 5 yards, there is no point in being there. Tunchev - 7 - Solid Berner - 7 - As per Tunch. Scored. N'Guessan - 4 - Slow, and ran into tackles the entire game. This guy blows hot and cold! Wellens - 5 - Unfit, wayward passing. Him and Oakley were like the chuckle brothers for the opening goal. Oakley - 6 - Ok. Paul or Barry? Gallagher - 7 - MOTM. Decent. Howard - 6 - Didn't see a lot of him. Fryatt - 7 - First touch wasn't great. SUBS: Dyer - 4 - A poor man's Nicky Adams this season. I feel sorry for Adams, he has looked very sharp in each of his games and isn't getting a look in. Waghorn - 5 - Ran around like a headless chicken, but was a nuisance. Kermogant - 7 - won a lot in the air, would like to see more of him.
Webbo Posted 26 September 2009 Posted 26 September 2009 Weale - 7 Neilson - 6 - Not brilliant but not as bad as some are saying Brown - 7 - Our best defender today. Tunchev - 6.5 -had his pants took down a couple of times today. Berner - 5.5 - Out of position a lot today. N'Guessan - 5.5 Wellens - 6 Oakley - 6 Gallagher - 6 Howard - 6.5 - No worse than normal, won some headers, don't know why the fans are turning on him now. Fryatt - 7.5 - The only player who looked like creating something. SUBS: Dyer - 5.5 Waghorn - 5 - Kermogant N/A (but the little bit he did play he didn't look bad).
J.Lisemore Posted 26 September 2009 Posted 26 September 2009 Weale - 6 Nielson - 4 Brown - 4 Tunchev - 6 Berner - 7 N'Guessen - 3 Oakley - 5 Wellens - 5 Gallagher - 7 Howard - 6 Fryatt - 7 Subs: - Waghorn - 5 Kermogant - 6 Dyer - 4
Legend_in_blue Posted 26 September 2009 Posted 26 September 2009 We lost this game because Pearson insisted on playing Wellens rather than King. Weale - 7 - Commanded the area well and took some good catches. Nielsen - 6 - No doubt the anti-Nielson brigade will have a field day after this performance. Summed up by the blast over the bar with a minute to go. To be fair, he wasn't the worst out there but he'll still take the brunt of it. Fans outside were calling him this and that after the game. Shocking and uncalled for imo. Brown - 5.5 - Not impressed. Poor distribution and looked out of sorts. Tunchev - 7 - Did ok. Struggled a little on the physical side but didn't huff and puff as much as Brown to deal with it. Berner - 7.5 - Great engine. Kept running up and down the line well and delivered when needed. Good finish to score. N'Guessan - 2 - Absolutely dire. Delivered nothing, out of position and leaving the right exposed. Nielsen covered his ground for him he was that bad. Wellens - 5.5 - Not fit. Shouldn't have played. Poor error in clearing the ball for Preston's first and unable to run to keep up with the guy who scored Preston's second. He shouldn't have made the second half. It cost us the game. Oakley - 6 - Not imposing enough. Watch their number 4 to see how it's done. Gallagher - 7 - Considering he played about 3 or 4 positions today he looked quite threatening with what he did. Some good balls in but most of this happened when Howard was subbed though, which is a shame. Howard - 7 - No service from either play or the referee. Did well with what he got but had no clear chance to score. Fryatt - 7 - Looked dangerous first half but never had the easy chance today. Subs: Dyer - 6 - Looked busy but didn't produce much. Waghorn - 4 - Terrible. Kermorgant - 6.5 - Some good touches, won a few headers but needed more time on the pitch. NP - 3 - Poor tactical decisions before the game made this difficult to win. The omission of Hobbs was strange but to play Wellens in midfield when he clearly wasn't fit, was poor judgement to say the least. The subs did little to inspire any sort of change and the game drifted into a non-event in the second half. Not good enough.
h1210 Posted 26 September 2009 Posted 26 September 2009 Brown - 4 - He backs off all the time. Don't dive in, but if you back off and give the man 5 yards, there is no point in being I can't help but feel he needs to do this just to make up for his lack of pace. It was pretty obvious against Peterborough and he spent most of the time doing the same today.
maddog Posted 26 September 2009 Posted 26 September 2009 Wheale 7 Neilson 3 Brown 4 Tunchev 7 Berner 5 N'guessan 4 Wellens 6 Oakley 6 Gallagher 5 Fryatt 8 Howard 6 Subs: Kermo 7 Waghorn 6 Dyer 5 Pearson 3 Poor formation, team totally off balance, and with Fryatt defending at right back and hoofball to a dwarf up front, and Gallagher no where, with no width, no urgency for the entire match, we were shocking. If NP doesn't sort it out quickly then our home record may be like buses, wait ages for one, and then 2 come along at once.

maddog Posted 26 September 2009 Posted 26 September 2009 The reason why the defence looked so bad today though, was because they were put under constant pressure due to the lack of midfield.
Ozwin Posted 26 September 2009 Posted 26 September 2009 Weale - Meh Neilson - Really crap Brown - Drop this guy already! Tunchev - Meh Berner - Decent N'Guessan - Terrible Wellens - Meh Oakley - Fairly decent Gallagher - MOTM if I had to pick Howard - At least he showed he cared. Fryatt - Lively but we can't rely on him to create everything out of nothing.
Bert Posted 26 September 2009 Posted 26 September 2009 Weale 7 - Very commanding. Neilson 3 - Shit, just awful. Brown 4 - Better off playing crab football the amount of times he sat down today. Tunch 6 - Glad he's back, but it should've been for Brown, not Hobbs. Berner 6 - Solid yet again, and a consolation goal. N'Guessan 5 - Poor. He's so frustrating, some games he's awesome, others he's terrible. always gets his feet muddled up with the ball. Gallagher 7 - Played well, would be better up-front. Wellens 5 - Clearly not fully fit, I'd be fuming if I was King. Pearson talked about utilizing the squad, but didn't do so today. Oakley 6 - He always tried to get us going, but most of the players in the team today were somewhere else. Fryatt 7 - Our only real danger man, the only right now that looks like he's going to be dangerous. Howard 5 - Needs a rest. Doing nothing at the minute. Dyer 5 - Can't cut it. Waghorn 6 - Looked decent, needs a big man to play up top with though. Kermorgant 6 - Won more in the air and did more than Howard did all game in his brief spell.
Webbo Posted 26 September 2009 Posted 26 September 2009 and again, How many attacks came down Neilson's side, and how many down Berner's?
Ozwin Posted 26 September 2009 Posted 26 September 2009 That wasn't Berners fault. The fact we had no left winger meant that Berner had to do the attacking and the defending.
Jimmy Posted 26 September 2009 Posted 26 September 2009 Weale 7 Neilson 4 Brown 4 Tunchev 7 Berner 5 N'Guessan 4 Oakley 5 Wellens 6 - ffs man SHOOT Gallagher 5 - NOT A BLOODY WINGER SO DON'T PLAY HIM THERE Howard 5 Fryatt 7 Waghorn 5 - playing hoofball to him is stupid Dyer 4 - wtf have Adams or Gradel got to do to replace this muppet Kermorgant 6 - in the little he had time to do he looked decent enough, but why did we play our most natural replacement for Howard in central midfield Pearson 2 - poor tactics to start, slow to change it and left his subs stood for almost 10 mins having stripped off after finishing their warm up allowing them to get cold and stiffen up again, also you don't need to wait for us to lose before dropping under performing players
Webbo Posted 26 September 2009 Posted 26 September 2009 That wasn't Berners fault. The fact we had no left winger meant that Berner had to do the attacking and the defending. It wasn't Neilson's fault either. The ball was on the other side of the pitch.
Budweiser Posted 26 September 2009 Posted 26 September 2009 Weale - 8 - Some good catches and kicks. Not at fault for either goal. Neilson - 3 - Brown - 6.5 - Respectable, left alone at the back 3 times when PNE were on the break Tunchev - 6 Berner - 8 - Quality, getting better and better in this division, though is occasionally caught out. N'Guessan - 4 - Fuck me. Wellens - 6 - Meh Oakley - 6.5 Gallagher - 7 Howard - 6.5 Fryatt - 8 SUBS: Dyer - 5 Waghorn - 6 Kermogant - 6
