They all look disinterested apart from James Milner, unfortunately though Milner isn't top international quality to match his work-rate. And Wes Brown should never be allowed back in the team, awful display.

Not an awful result considering the amount of players we had out but we definitely lacked any real creativity

Jeramine Jenas, Shaun Wright-Phillips and Darren Bent I am looking at you. The game was rendered otherwise meaningless by the fact that Barry was probably the only midfield player that was either 1st or 2nd string out there for England. A lost opportunity to determine where England are at. Bit worried that if we get injured at the back the 2nd string either has very little experience playing at a high level, Upson and Lecsott, or are simply out of their depth, Brown and Bridge. I'm not so worried about the midfield players that played tonight, they are very unlikely to play, but that back 4 are all 1st choice reserves and we will more than likely need some of them in the World Cup.

Not aiming the blame at him though - the whole team played average. But with so many big names out tonight, it's hard to judge them as a lot probably haven't played with each other and they probably couldn't adapt to each other's style of play as much as we wanted them to.

Same for Bent i'd expect (had no service today) and Jenas who isn't quite good enough. Shame Brown looked so dodgy because Johnson will cost us a goal or two next summer. Lescott's lost his way a bit too imo.

Their backline looked very much like first XI starters to me, and Nilmar & Fabiano have very strong cases too. Hardly Z listers...

Funny how England's friendlies become 'pointless' when you lose them. And funny how Englands friendly losses in recent seasons against the like of Germany, Spain, France, Italy and the mighty Selacao confirm their lowly standing in the world football pecking order. And funniest of all is how you play in that dreary hoofing, non first touch, string vest high line kind of way in any game be it pointless or meaningful. And it's hysterical that you can't see it. You can chuck any overhyped bunch of names that you care to pick up from your cerebrally challenged studio pundits and your fantasy CM lists but put any or all of them into an England shirt and what little individual or collective technical ability they possess invariably evaporates at kick off.
