Guest Mee-9 Posted 9 December 2009 Posted 9 December 2009 Anyone remember what happened with Martin O'Neill. On a cold tuesday night, after another loss, people were calling for him to be sacked, and the so called "loyal" fans were throwing bricks through the filbert street foyer. We need to look on this as a blip, as we all know what martin o'neill did.

MON had been at Leicester about 5 games when that happened, NP has been here for about 70-75 games! Plenty long enough to at least know his best team and formation. The QPR game was the blip, the rest is normal.
buzzy Posted 9 December 2009 Posted 9 December 2009 Nigel Pearson needs to take his head for a shit!He has the managerial nous of a deformed goat. He has relied on what worked in League 1, too goat-headed to believe he might be wrong, steadfastly refused to change it for too long. Well Nigel goat fook, what are you going to do about it? Don't threaten them with training tomorrow, clearly that didn't do pig-shit either. You are a Mongol. how can you slag pearson off we are having a bad spell if you want to blame anyone its mandaric because is the one who's fook up as you say because his the one who is saying premier next season because of this stupib 3 year plan lets be realistic at the moment we are punching above our weight . if manadric wants to go up he needs injection of funds in january but not silly money but enough if mandaric wants this wet dream of his. i will be happy with survival then mid table .WALK BEFORE YOU CAN RUN

Does Milan pick the team then?. Did Mandaric make 2 subs before 40mins on Saturday and still concede another 3? I think the point is being missed by many. I am wasting my time.

Leicfox Posted 9 December 2009 Posted 9 December 2009 For anyone that went tonight how did Wellens play? Sounded non-existent on the radio. I haven't seen him have a great game yet. After what we were led to believe about him being about the best midfielder in the division last season (his own words) I am underwhelmed. Most of his passes seem to go sideways with the odd flamboyant one thrown in. I can't remember his last assist it seems to be that long ago. Perhaps it is because he is playing with players who are almost alike in style (King & Oakley who have been equally ineffective). Perhaps we need a tough tackling midfielder in with him to get the best out of him because as I say so far he has been a little disappointing for me. Not particularly bad, just not very good either. What does everyone else think? Wellens is currently looking a different player to even a few weeks ago. He was shocking tonight in terms of tackling and distribution. confusing to say the least....... Wellens' distribution, tackling, control, quality was all pathetic. Seems a different player. It's no suprise to me that Richie seems a different player... Here's what i wrote when we signed him up. Good signing. Wellens can play when on song, but i don't need to tell you all that, Richie has already stated it on the OS himself. I knew him from his Blackpool days after coming from the Man Utd academy, a talented young lad on the pitch albeit (he did go missing in games alot when things never went his way) he's very temperamental.

Bluefoxtim Posted 9 December 2009 Posted 9 December 2009 At the end of the day it's bad 2 games and we're in 7th place. Jesus Christ.
marbelladave Posted 9 December 2009 Posted 9 December 2009 What a diverse and hysterical bunch of reactions, time for reason. We have not been playing well lately. In the last 11 games we have played well twice, Palace and QPR, been beaten badly 3 times and in 6 games put in mediocre performances in which we managed to scrape draws or narrow wins, picking up points we barely deserved. The more obvious weaknesses in the side have been pointed out many times, often (I'm genuinely sorry to say) by me. Flaky central defence, a midfield that both fails to cover the fullbacks and gets over run far too easily and an attack devoid of pace or ideas, so what ever goals have come have mostly come from hopeful long balls. More importantly I (among others) have pointed out that we need to develop a more flexible, passing game to be really competitive in this league and for a few games back in september / october it looked like that might just be happening. Sadly this was quickly squashed, with Pearson re-emphasising the long ball and running endless permutations to make the 'system' work, firstly with an increasingly ineffective Howard and finally without him. The endless changes (to the front 6) appear to have sapped both the will and the confidence from the squad, leading to the current situation, this is not just a 'blip', it is the culmination of the way we have been playing over the last couple of months! A final word on Pearson. As I have pointed out before, he is a terrific club manager who has turned around the playing side of the club beyond all expectations. But he is human and his limitations show up on match days with his team selection, setup and tactics, maybe he will improve with experience, maybe he needs help, new first team coach anyone?
Babylon Posted 9 December 2009 Posted 9 December 2009 I am wasting my time. You are, so why don't you do everyone a favour and stop posting.
lou Posted 9 December 2009 Posted 9 December 2009 In his 1st spell maybe, Have you seen him since his return? He can fuck off. I agree with bringing Campbell and Gradel back but Waghorn and Fryatt are streets ahead of Dickov. Dickov can Fuckov. You are actually joking right?Somebody please tell me this guy is joking? Please? Dickov is fucking abysmal. I would seriously, seriously rather have Stephen Hawking play up front than have Dickov anywhere near our team. Its the other end we are worried about at the moment mate....... Agree with all the above Weve conceded 8 goals in 2 games and your answer is to bring back Dickov who did precisely Fook All when he was last here.
samuel Posted 9 December 2009 Posted 9 December 2009 Love the irony here Not really too sure that you understand Irony. Had I have been convicted of a criminal offence in relation to the stealing or obtaining by deceit, the said o2, then I suspect you may have been correct in your assumption. Unless you have documentation pertaining such offence, I would say your somewhat cumbersome and ill-placed comment with regards Irony is a little wide of the mark and my point stands tall that you don't understand Irony.

I'd agree with alot of that, too narrow, too many long balls, we got squeezed out of posession and always passed beck to our defenders, who then hoof the ball aimlessly at times!! Overall we didn;t have the 'zip' in our passing and movement, we look like a side lacking in confidence, all over. But confidence is easily something that can reappear, i'm sure if we had got the early goal\penalty against Bristol, it would have changed the whole outlook of the team!!

calum_lcfc Posted 9 December 2009 Posted 9 December 2009 How did McGivern play last night? On and off mate same as everyone else really On last nights performance I would not be fussed if we don't keep him longer than January
Guest ttfn Posted 9 December 2009 Posted 9 December 2009 Waghorn's an idiot for getting sent off but losing him could be a blessing in disguise. 10 points from the 7 games he's started in. Hardly promotion form.
Babylon Posted 9 December 2009 Posted 9 December 2009 Wouldn't that just be the best?. You can carry on making a clown of yourself by all means, your mock rage and attempts to look clever are quite funny. I suggest everyone puts the clown on ignore and just let him speak to himself.... well himself and his partner in idiocy muffin.
blueoveru Posted 9 December 2009 Posted 9 December 2009 These two bad performances both as a team and individually should test the mettle of our manager as he's had a reasonably easy time in the chair so far
Guest Posted 9 December 2009 Posted 9 December 2009 Haven't read this thread in its entirety, due to time contraints, but I can cope with losing games. We aren't going to go through the season unbeaten. But if we are going to lose, at least have a go. I don't know whether it's complacency, lack of confidence or whatever, but we are letting teams come at us, and we seem to have no answer for it. Meanwhile, we lack any killer punch. This isn't the same team that started the season, not just personnel, but attitude.

Hitesh Posted 9 December 2009 Posted 9 December 2009 The way I see it and I know some might not see it that way but every team has their blip in the season and especially in this league. What makes the difference between the sides in the promotion hunt and the mid table languisher is how they respond to these blips and pick up an unbeaten run again. The only thing which I believe is stopping us from picking up a decent run is our shakey defence. I think we have been slightly lucky this hasn't happened sooner (Reading/Derby games come to mind) so this has to be a priority to sort out. On the flip side, we do need out midfield to step their game up and take control of games. Pearson needs to sort the system out because its not working. I don't mind not playing wingers but he needs to make sure that when we attack we do in numbers to provide the service and then when we defend, the midfielders are there to support. The alternative is to start playing wingers again and get some service to the front men! Anyway, I wasn't at the game last night but this is just my view from what I've read and heard. There isn't a reason to panic or to worry too much at the moment, we just need to get behind the team to get out of it!

I don't think it's a coincidence that it's happened around the same time many of our players were popping up here, there and everywhere, mentioning the P word. Believing their own hype unfortunately.
