Bristol City Post Match Thread

Every team has blips of bad form, any level, any league. Fans calling for the head of Nigel Pearson and slating the team don't help things.

You've got to put things into perspective, we've done well with the little resource we have to be, to get to where we currently are. No, I'm not happy that we're losing but it'll happen, any team can beat any team on the day in this league and we should expect this. You can't say look at the past but that's where Pearson has taken us from and we've achieved a great deal. You can't say any muppet wouldhave got us out of League 1, as other teams have struggled. I'm not one for clichés but the team just need to assess what's gone wrong in the past couple of games and go back to basics. Which for me, is to tighten up the defence.

We don't need any silly knee jerk reactions!!

I'm sure Sanchez et al are jizzing themselves silly over the fact they got to have a good old boo tonight... <_<

Keep it rational folks! (or am I expecting too much there?)

As I said in the other thread, other teams have had their bad patches - Cardiff, West Brom, Boro.

It could be so much worse (Ipswich, Plymouth, Peterborough just to name a few).

Rather have our bad patch out the way so we can move onwards and upwards as soon as possible.

Better than having a bad patch when it really matters in April/May time.

Keep the fucking faith!!!

Nigel Pearson needs to take his head for a shit!

He has the managerial nous of a deformed goat. He has relied on what worked in League 1, too goat-headed to believe he might be wrong, steadfastly refused to change it for too long.

Well Nigel goat fook, what are you going to do about it?

Don't threaten them with training tomorrow, clearly that didn't do pig-shit either.

You are a Mongol.

Its because I wasnt there tonight.

Dunno what happened Saturday though lol

Im sure its just a blip and we will pull it round, as long as they learn from the last 2 games. Not relishing being without Waggers though

Well people asked for changes and got them.....

I concur - blip. Every team in the league has had a few dodgy games. Although getting wooped twice in quick succession aint pretty...as lay Davis would say "shieeeeeeeeeeeeet"

Question is does a 'blip' turn into something more sustained if Sheff Weds beat us?

For a team that just got promoted last season, we're doing exceptionally well. What you can question is the ability to learn from heavy defeats like the 5-1 against Forest. And with "ability to learn" I mean both the team and the manager. From what I recall, it's the first time we've lost two games in a row under Pearson (there's a first time for everything) and some are slating the organisation as if we just lost WWIII.

Individually, criticism is surely appropriate. Collectively, maybe. Overall, we're doing way too well for what squad we have. And shouldn't we be content with what we've got so far - 31 fooking points at the beginning of December?

I refrain from making any further negative comments. There's still another home game to come next Saturday and should there be no obvious rise in performance, THEN I might be thinking about making ****-ish comments in best samuel-, Fox92- or muffin-style about Pearson or Weale or any other player who seems to be underperforming at the moment.

I'm underwhelmed, all in all.

Yep, that's right - I spend my life creating bogus accounts just to insult stupid little cunts like you.

Funnily enough - I have no difficulty doing it with this one.

Twat.

Talk about overreaction lol

I made a wild guess and apoligsied. You cry on this forum about people sending you abusive messages yet you put out like you're some kind of big man. You can't have it both ways you hypocritical bastard.

What's wrong? The gardner sticking it to your mrs?

Prick.

Why people wanna clap Waghorn off for a brainless tackle resulting in a 3 match ban is beyond me.

Awful at the back and clueless going forward

Shocking... can't quite believe how bad we've become in the space of a few games... however, we're still 7th and just 2 points off 3rd so I'm not worried by any stretch of the imagination.

Brown and McGivern though... dear God.

Best thing about the whole game were the ER dancers... down the Kop end there was one who didn't have a fucking clue what she was doing! :crylaugh:

Fair enough for getting a consolation goal but I am still bloody pissed off after conceding eight goals in the last two games. I can't believe it. After Saturday I thought that a game like Bristol City would be fairly easy because I don't really think they are as good as they are made out to be at times. I can't believe the absolute shit that I heard throughout that game. What is going on?

Fryatt definitely made some sort of an impact when he came on but I think Pearson should of brought him on earlier, it could of made a difference. Pearson is a great manager but the line up today really didn't work. Pearson and the guys definitely need to sort it out by Saturday or otherwise we are going to slide further and further down the table. We still should be aiming for a top table finish though.

I wasn't there so I didn't actually see the ref's performance but from the commentary, plenty of poor decisions were made but I'm not going to blame the ref for the result because we were absolutely shocking. The only positive that you can draw from this game is that Fryatt's goal has made the goal difference 0.

Middlesboro went to Q.P.R on Saturday and stuffed them 5-1.

Tonight they got mauled 3-0 at home by Blackpool.

It's the nature of the league, very difficult to find consistency and string a good run of results together. Yes, we've had a blip no doubt, but we're just as likely to bounce back with a couple of unexpected results a la Middlesboro and Q.P.R away.

I'm not disputing the fact we've had a couple of very poor results on the trot, but, anyone calling for the managers head just yet is a moron.

We were punching above our weight in 3rd place, i still believe we will finish the season around tenth, which would be a fair effort in our first season back in the Championship.

We are NOT, as yet, good enough to go up, and that is not a slight on NP, that is a fact. Our very good start definitely distorted realism for some people and thus the massive over-reactions on the back of a couple of (albeit disappointing) defeats.

Feel for the fans that went tonight- must've been very dispiriting.

I hope for a turnaround on Saturday- at the moment I can't see it sadly.

And people should not be calling for Pearson to go- ridiculous claims.

I think the line is "SHIT HAPPENS", we move onto Saturday, the club has made mistakes and we've had a bad week at the office.

Let them pick themsleves up, regroup and put in a performance on Saturday.

I agree it was brainless but that one tackle shown more passion and determination than the other 10 through out the whole game imo
