samuel Posted 9 December 2009 Posted 9 December 2009 Haven't read this thread in its entirety, due to time contraints, but I can cope with losing games. We aren't going to go through the season unbeaten. But if we are going to lose, at least have a go. I don't know whether it's complacency, lack of confidence or whatever, but we are letting teams come at us, and we seem to have no answer for it. Meanwhile, we lack any killer punch. This isn't the same team that started the season, not just personnel, but attitude. We have no answer to it because technically we aren't good enough, the momentum of being champions was only going to get us so far, so we needed to have some ability in reserve. For the championship, we need aggression, muscle and ability, players that have the knack of knowing what to do next. We lack all of those in spades, we possess lightweight, average players, riding high on the wave of momentum, but we could have done something about that in the close season, Nigel let his loyalty to a winning team get in the way of the bigger picture and for that, he is the one accountable. We have wingers, we have a bit of pace, for whatever reason, NP doesn't think they are quite good enough. Fair Enough, get someone in or play a bizarre no-width formation, the choice is his and we will pay for those overlooked moments.

Guest Bilo Posted 9 December 2009 Posted 9 December 2009 So glad I didn't bother with this shit last night reading the thread, season ticket or not. Can't help feeling we've been complacent for the last month, got a reality check on Saturday and now lack of confidence has set in. The real worry appears to be the same as Saturday, the fact the players don't actually look too bothered about it either. Seriously questioning whether to attend on Saturday or not, can't be doing with another weekend fucked by another laughable display.
purpleronnie Posted 9 December 2009 Posted 9 December 2009 My god how loud is the goal music you have. Like walking into a s**t childrens disco. And as for that weird song with hand actions (similiar to hull and mauled by the tigers) f**king embaressing tbh Quoted from a bristol fan, hand gestures? Whats that all about?
samuel Posted 9 December 2009 Posted 9 December 2009 It's a beautiful thing. It certainly is, you stick with it pal.... I bet hurts you deep inside knowing that you are probably the only to have bothered doing it though!. If you hadn't been genetically hindered oaf, life could have held so much more for you!

marbelladave Posted 9 December 2009 Posted 9 December 2009 Waghorn's an idiot for getting sent off but losing him could be a blessing in disguise. 10 points from the 7 games he's started in. Hardly promotion form. That is unfair. Having picked him to lead the attack we have continued to hoof balls up to him as if he is the new improved Steve Howard, he is not. This in fact is one of our biggest issues, hoofing the ball to forwards who do not and can not hold up the ball just gives away possession. Even against poor teams like Plymouth and S****horpe, you really can't do that!
dandannieldanok Posted 9 December 2009 Posted 9 December 2009 Disgraceful performance. Don't care about the result, they come and go, but the effort was non-existent. Where's the passion, the fight, the commitment? Where's the tackling (and I don't mean leg-breakers like Waghorns) ? Where's the captain? What the hell is actually going on at the minute?, because that performance (and I use the term very very loosely) wouldn't have befitted the worser days under Levein and Kelly. Everyone just strolled around as if the game didn't matter. On the very rare occasions Bristol City didn't monopolise the ball, we were completely clueless. From one of the strongest defences we've become one of the weakest; the first goal was an embarassment for all Sproule skipped by. Even the keeper's gone iffy, his attempted dive for the second goal came 5 seconds after it hit the net. I was completely wrong about wanting N'Guessan back, he was woeful although amazingly woeful still probably made him one of our better players. I was also completely wrong about wanting Gallagher at this club, apart from a 45 minute cameo against Palace, this guy has shown absolutely nothing. The midfield is completely disjointed and ineffective. Wellens thinks he's Steven Gerrard, Oakley's legs have gone, and I'd like to ask Andy King what the harm is in running once in a while. And finally Waghorn's tackles was a disgrace, should get a lengthy ban, could have broke the lad's leg. Agreed, at the end of the day if we lose we lose so be it, but it's pathetic that the players don't even try to win the game, or should I say try and even threaten the opposition goal.
lou Posted 9 December 2009 Posted 9 December 2009 Ive always said I dont mind losing as long as theyve given it their all.

It's not his fault that we hoof it or that we don't have a brilliant (although until last night it was ok) record when he plays. I've always thought that he was more of an impact player (as, presumably does the guy he fouled last night).
Guest Posted 9 December 2009 Posted 9 December 2009 Not really too sure that you understand Irony.Had I have been convicted of a criminal offence in relation to the stealing or obtaining by deceit, the said o2, then I suspect you may have been correct in your assumption. Unless you have documentation pertaining such offence, I would say your somewhat cumbersome and ill-placed comment with regards Irony is a little wide of the mark and my point stands tall that you don't understand Irony. The irony was found by you pointing out what an oxygen thief someone else was, and yet it's you who seems to spend your time talking utter nonsense

Another spell in the Library at school for you my friend!

BoneDog Posted 9 December 2009 Posted 9 December 2009 Confidence may be a factor in football (bit gay in my opinion to let lack of confidence change how you play) but if I was a manager and my players showed no fight or drive I would throw them round the changing room. I don't care how low on confidence players are, if they don't show 100% commitment and work their 'cking bollox off for 90 mins they'd be out of a job. Sometimes players just don't deserve 6 or 14 thousand pounds in their bank on a Friday. Results don't bother me so much when you see your players trying to do what we pay them for. But when effort is lacking it's a different story. From what I've heard about last night I would say 5 or 6 lads don't deserve to cash in on their efforts for this week. EDIT : Talking of confidence, I don't understand how Leicester players could be low on confidence. They had a great last season, and a great start to this season. Are they really that soft that after one huge defeat they crumble? Surely not

It'll make the forum more bearable when we lose. Click on his user name so you can view his profile, once on his profile the drop down on the left has the "igore twat user" option. His name will appear on the right, you then press update ignored users. Something along those lines.
