davieG Posted 9 December 2009 Posted 9 December 2009 http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk_politics/8403636.stm We all off down the bingo to kick start the recovery!
jonthefox Posted 9 December 2009 Posted 9 December 2009 looks like my crimbo bonus is going to take a hammering as well then.
Finnegan Posted 9 December 2009 Posted 9 December 2009 I go to Bingo on a Monday night Didn't realise you were that old.
jonthefox Posted 9 December 2009 Posted 9 December 2009 Didn't realise you were that old. i`d chuffin run if i were you.
lou Posted 9 December 2009 Posted 9 December 2009 Didn't realise you were that old. Cheeky young whipper snapper! Actually theres more young people than oldies - a lot of students seem to go. Theres a right gangsta looking Black lad who goes with his girlfriend too, always makes me laugh to see him bopping around with his Bruce Willis white vest on and big biceps. People dont laugh so hard when you walk out with a grand in your pocket, which I have done on more than one occasion.

If he takes his own I'd say that he's probably not gangsta cos they don't tend to have dibber/dabbers in their glove-box. Ruins the image if you get pulled by cops! But if he uses the bingo halls or his girlfriends d/d then he could be a G
Guest Bilo Posted 9 December 2009 Posted 9 December 2009 Being dragged to 'family pubs' with bingo in Skeggy by my folks as a child put me off the sodding game for life. *cough* SSSSSSSHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Can still smell the foul odour of piss, Yardley perfume and pipes now. Awful game.
Ford Super Sunday Posted 9 December 2009 Posted 9 December 2009 People dont laugh so hard when you walk out with a grand in your pocket, which I have done on more than one occasion. Yeah but you're supposed to win it, not nick it!
Fosse Boy Posted 9 December 2009 Posted 9 December 2009 I'm partial to a bit of Mecca Bingo following a few too many down the Twenty20 at Grace Road. Me and ARAB are actually paid up members.
ramboacdc Posted 9 December 2009 Posted 9 December 2009 dont expect bingo prices to go down. they companies will pocket the extra cash, they always do
Samilktray Posted 10 December 2009 Posted 10 December 2009 I fancy Bingo. Might give it a go sometime soon
lildave3 Posted 10 December 2009 Posted 10 December 2009 Nothing wrong with Bingo. My sister used to go regularly, I won't lie about going along occasionally.
stez Posted 10 December 2009 Posted 10 December 2009 Why bingo though? old timers are the people most likely to turn out to vote in any great numbers, their pension has gone up, the cost of their hobby (they tend to be the majority who go: I go to Bingo on a Monday night Didn't realise you were that old. see ) come next year, when they hope to've won the election, we will all be hammered (and not in a good way) although, hopefully we won't get a badly hit as the irish!

Jon the Hat Posted 10 December 2009 Posted 10 December 2009 An increase in National insurance is not a stealth tax. With the 1% increase to come in April and another 0.5% in 2011 the bastards will be taking another £700 off me. And why? To pay a 1% increase in Benefits? I did not get a payrise why the hell should people who don't work? Bring on the Tories and shared tax allowances for married couples.
Zingari Posted 10 December 2009 Posted 10 December 2009 400 quid to scrap your old boiler seems a good idea i'll probably miss her though

Jon the Hat Posted 10 December 2009 Posted 10 December 2009 400 quid to scrap your old boiler seems a good idea i'll probably miss her though Yeah, but only in terms of stimulating demand for a new boiler. In real terms the efficiency improvements of a new boiler never pay for themselves, and you are better off saving for when the current one goes pop. My council spent hundreds of thousands buying a house and fitting lots of "green" stuff to inspire us all to waste our money on installing these in our homes. So brilliant was this concept, that not one of the coucillors, or senior execs in the coucil has put in place even most of the ideas shown. Like the rest of us they looked at it, and concluded it was not worth the money. Like cars, this stuff only makes sense on new builds or when the current system has to be replaced.

I was talking to a plumber friend of mine when these condenser boilers became the only ones allowed. He told me then that they only saved about £10 a year. I know gas has gone up since then but it probably won't save you much.

Like cars, this stuff only makes sense on new builds or when the current system has to be replaced. yeah , like most of this green stuff , it's just a big con . my girl has just moved into a new build and they now fit "3 pronged" MEM light bulb battens so that you can only fit special "green" bulbs that cost about 8 quid a throw instead of the cheapo ones that you can get for less than a quid . i couldn't believe it when i saw them , "MEM" seem to have a monopoly on these things edit ; these fookers http://www.lampspecs.co.uk/Light-Bulbs-Tubes/MEM-3-Pin-BC and hardly anywhere sell them

Zingari Posted 10 December 2009 Posted 10 December 2009 Powergen used to send you a load of these for free! not these , they were the traditional 2 prong bayonet fitting that you can get anywhere , these have "3 prongs" that fit into the "J slots" of the lamp holder , edit ; spot the difference and you cannot change the fittings
stez Posted 10 December 2009 Posted 10 December 2009 obviously if it's for the environment and not a money making scheme it's all fine.
