Vo Rogue Posted 13 December 2009 Posted 13 December 2009 On BBC Sport Scotland website. Involved in both goals and into the ref for goalie tackle. Not a bad ly taken goal.
fleckneymike Posted 13 December 2009 Posted 13 December 2009 What is "our system"? I don't see how a defensive midfielder couldn't fit into most teams. Our system Joe is one which involves maintaining a very rigid shape throughout the match. People have their 'zones' and stick to them. In no way are we as good as Dynamo Kiev under Lobanovskyi but that's the sort of rigid style we play, though with less emphasis on pressing the opposition constantly, where every man knows his job and sticks to it, even if that means sacrificing their own individuality. Someone like Wesolowski who hunts the ball down does not fit, he will leave holes and break our lines of 4 which add so much to our defensive and counter attacking style.
Jimmy Posted 13 December 2009 Posted 13 December 2009 I actually think Weso might balance it more, especially if King is released to be more offensive

On paper that sounds nearly plausible. In this very rigid shape you talk of where every man knows his job and sticks to it then what the hell are Oakley and Kings roles when theyve gone missing for whole games sometimes this season?

For King see my post in the Andy King thread. For Oakley? He's doing what he's asked. He plays tucked in on the right. I don't particularly rate Oakley but his limited ability is best suited to our system as N'Guessean is too inconsistent, Adams, for what ever reason isn't trusted and Gradel is at Leeds because he appears unable to play in this system due to his unpredictable style of play. Our system isn't fool proof and doesn't favour pace in the midfield as any width is generally required to come from our over lapping full backs. If our full backs are forced back we don't attack and our midfield can be over run. The only vacancy in our team is left wing as we can surmise that Oakley won't be dropped and I doubt Wesolowski can play there.
Father Ted Posted 13 December 2009 Posted 13 December 2009 I reckon we'd give you a decent game. We won at Aberdeen, like we did last season. The Dons beat Rangers in their last home match. If Hearts are better than Hamilton. Then Robbie Nielson is better than Hamilton. Therefore, our reserves > Hamilton.

Oh, is that what they are supposed to be doing I have wondered at times. It's great to see Wes back and playing and I would love to see him come back to Leicester and play a part in this squad, obviously he wouldn't walk back into the first team, but he offers a bit more bite in midfield and some much needed options in the centre, whatever your opinions are of Wellens, King and Oakley having only 3 recognisable centre mids on the books is not enough, as was proven against WBA. Also having the option of bringing on someone like Wes in a tight game when we are hanging on to a lead is what we are missing at times, see S****horpe match. At the moment it is better he is at Hamilton because we have no reserve team to give him the match practice he needs.
beardedgoalie Posted 16 December 2009 Posted 16 December 2009 :laugh:If Hearts are better than Hamilton. Then Robbie Nielson is better than Hamilton. Therefore, our reserves > Hamilton. Hearts are currently two points below Hamilton. Agree our league is poor but I've seen many mediocre Championship games on sky over the years. Leicester would I'm sure be top half SPL but then we're only two points away from that ourselves.
haraven Posted 16 December 2009 Posted 16 December 2009 We got a poster on here who is mate with Weso, see if he can shed some light on the future of the fighting midfielder.
lou Posted 16 December 2009 Posted 16 December 2009 Never had a chance here? How fecking long was he here?! Yes he had a lot of injuries (in itself a big worry!) but he also played a lot of games (46). Hes not shown me anything to think hes worth another chance to be honest. Dont get what folk see in him at all? No thanks, were not that desperate
howsyourfather Posted 17 December 2009 Posted 17 December 2009 I can't believe people seriously think James Wesolowski should be in our team. I don't know why, but there seems to always be a section of Leicester City fans who are obsessed with our academy and believe they are the answer to all our problems. i personally believe we should have kept tomi petrescu to partner eric odhiambo upfront with ashley chambers sitting just behind them. An unstoppable force.
Corky Posted 17 December 2009 Posted 17 December 2009 Decent little player when fit, sadly not often enough.
