Guest Posted 22 February 2010 Posted 22 February 2010 I don't know much about this but August seems a long time to wait until the trial. It will be a whole year after the event or does this usually happen? The long wait for the trial date is due to a combination of the number of days that are needed and witness availability.

StanSP Posted 29 July 2010 Posted 29 July 2010 http://news.uk.msn.com/uk/articles.aspx?cp-documentid=154252397 Mattock has pleaded guilty to affray during the incident on 30th August last year.
goose2010 Posted 30 July 2010 Posted 30 July 2010 If anyone is intrested he gets sentanced in september. Could be anything up to 5years, but as he is a premiership footballer these days he will get a fine/community order/suspended sentance! strange thing about this one though his perverting the court of justice has been dropped

Onions Posted 31 July 2010 Posted 31 July 2010 First of all, not sure what section to put this in, so feel free to move it. ------------------------------------ Former Leicester City player Joe Mattock has pleaded guilty to affray following a fight outside a nightclub. The 20-year-old defender, of Grove Road, Whetstone, entered the guilty plea yesterday and will be sentenced on September 2. The attack occurred outside Liquid Envy, in Church Gate, Leicester, on August 30 last year. Mattock had faced five charges – three of assault causing actual bodily harm, one of assault by beating and one of perverting the course of justice by offering money to one of the male victims. He had pleaded not guilty to all three and had been due to face trial on Monday. During yesterday's hearing at Leicester Crown Court, the Crown Prosecution Service altered the charges to one of affray, to which Mattock was prepared to plead guilty. Prosecutor Jim Thomas said: "It reflects the throwing of punches which resulted in the injuries to four complainants – all captured on CCTV." Mattock spoke to plead guilty to the affray charge. His barrister, Stuart Driver QC, asked for the case be adjourned for probation officers to meet Mattock and put together a pre-sentence report to help the judge, Michael Pert. The hearing is due to be held at Leicester Crown Court on September 2. The CCTV recording will be viewed by the judge. Mattock was released on conditional bail. Mattock played 73 times for Leicester. In August last year he signed a three-year contract with West Bromwich Albion for a fee of £1 million. ---------------- Always liked the guy on the pitch, but shame about what he did to us, and then the aftermath.
Shrenchel Posted 31 July 2010 Posted 31 July 2010 I'd say it's very very unlikely he'll do bird for pleading guilty to affray with no previous but I might be wrong.
MPH Posted 31 July 2010 Posted 31 July 2010 I'd say it's very very unlikely he'll do bird for pleading guilty to affray with no previous but I might be wrong. you might well be right, but it all depends which judge he will have. Some will like the opportunity to make an example of famous people and some do not take kindly at all to men punching women...
poopbutt Posted 31 July 2010 Posted 31 July 2010 yeah with affray he's either looking at about 200 hrs comm service or jail time depending on the judge. the fact they've turned 5 into 1 might play into the judge giving him jail time too.
Craig Posted 31 July 2010 Posted 31 July 2010 The CPS are such bottlers. He'll not go down for it now, not a chance.
