davieG Posted 27 January 2010 Posted 27 January 2010 The performance was as bad as many in our pre-relegation seasons. I can only remember a couple of decent bits of football in the 90 minutes. Not one member of that team can put their hand up and say they played any where near average. Barnsley were poor we were worse. It reminded me of a trip to Burnley under Kelly where both teams were equally inept and yet we sneaked a goal but I still recall it as one of my worse match watching experiences. There was plenty of good Foxestalk members around but we had nothing to talk about except all the appalling football we were watching. The fans were as vocal as you get for an away game but were gradually worn down and disheartened into silence by what they were watching. It was a last minute decision to got to this game and all it's done is put me off the very idea of going to Blackpool.
Fox92 Posted 27 January 2010 Posted 27 January 2010 Why do we insist on playing no wingers? Why do we insist of playing the ball in the air to the smallest player on the pitch? There was no passion yesterday, no fight in the team. Not much creativity and nothing from certain players. And to top it of, we had a 41 year old playing left back I wish we just played football on the ground, instead, we get our goalkeeper kicking the ball long to the smallest Leicester player on the pitch. Is it only us that can see the ball just ending back in our half?
buzzy Posted 27 January 2010 Posted 27 January 2010 we will, its Nobbys destiny to score the winner dream on his past it we're shit ever since forest get a goal scorer in for uks sake

That was a fantastic away day.
Bluefoxtim Posted 27 January 2010 Posted 27 January 2010 Taking N'Guess off for King was totally defensive so we got a just rewards with conceding straight after. I was ecstatic when Moore went on. Hoping for plenty of through balls along the deck, Moore vs Waghorn = no contest. I think there was just one?
Shrenchel Posted 27 January 2010 Posted 27 January 2010 Were our fans cheering Hume more than our own players last night? TBH think it's probably some of the disabled home fans that would do that, good god that was annoying and embarrassing. A fair few were slobbering all over his arse crack still. Some geezer started Leicester reject off, whilst not something you'll find me singing, the reaction from Hume's minions was hilarious. Bloke in front of me thought it was 'the most disgraceful thing I've ever heard.' Goon.
kimbell Posted 27 January 2010 Posted 27 January 2010 I bought a season ticket, but I wish I hadn't now. The football is just the same as when we were relegated its depressing to watch and it has been all season. Like everbody want to be entertained, but we are so poor. I would be happier if we had a new manager who could bring us some excitment and a fresh approach. Sorry but thats how I feel.
Shrenchel Posted 27 January 2010 Posted 27 January 2010 Barnsley is full of little fvcking freaks. Point proven. http://www.barnsleyfc.org.uk/bbs/forums/th...s=2&start=1 Also, thought the numbers standing last night were a bit below par considering the unreserved seating and the lack of any sort of stewarding. Seemed about half from where I was the back but looks more like a 3rd from that.
Guest Mee-9 Posted 27 January 2010 Posted 27 January 2010 Tunchev - been missing most of this season and replaced by Brown (can't pass, too slow)Gilbert - replaced by Neilson (enough said) Mattock - replaced by McGivern (enough said) Davies/Cleverley - replaced by Wellens (bright start but not played well for months) Gradel - replaced by N'Guessan/Gallagher - neither offer much creativity as we have seen over the last few weeks, though N'Guessan does carry an aerial threat I ain't got nothing against you, I think your a decent poster. Tunchev - Injured, We play brown cause there surely isn't anyone else to play at centre back, unless we sign someone. Gilbert - Was on loan, Yes Neilson's been a poor signing, but surely Morrison can compensate for the waste of money that is Robbie Neilson Mattock - We all know how he handled his transfer, His mind was made up when he was approached. Not Pearson's fault, If Mattock was still here, He'd be the first name on the teamsheet, he's a talented footballer. Davies/Cleverley - On loan yet again, But Davies played in the premiership last week didn't he, Cleverley has caught the attention of many players, But yet again, Pearsons loan signing's were very good. Gradel - His mind was made up when he went out on Loan. I think we've had abit of bad luck with players, Instead of going for the likes of Mcgivern/Neilson/N'Guessan. We should of really built on what we had, maybe gone for permenant moves for the players we had on loan.

Thought there would be more standing at the start of the night, but hearing the ****** cheer Hume when he got man of the match has made me think that half our fans standing would be to much to ask for.
lovelcfc Posted 27 January 2010 Posted 27 January 2010 Few chances at the end by the sounds of things. Will be interesting to see what the fans say who made the trip.We need some points to install a bit of confidence. I went Put it this way we couldnt pass the ball but we didnt realy go route one which was good but if we play that against newcasle we will get hammered.
Donut Posted 27 January 2010 Posted 27 January 2010 I was at the Barnsley game yesterday Not going to rate all the players, but what i will say is that the only players who came out of that with much credit were Weale, Brown and Dany until he went off. The rest were absolutely nowhere near the standard to win a championship game ON THAT NIGHT (not saying they are bad players im saying ON THE NIGHT). Kermogant and Waghorn started the game and were totally starved of any kind of service whatsoever. I had picked a team for the game in another thread and i explicitly said in that message two things- 1) Wellens and Oakley had to get to grips with Hugo Colace in midfield who ran the show for their midfield and 2) I advocated Waghorn starting if the play was progressive, which it was not. Wellens and Oakley did not get on the ball, and when they did, more often than not it was given away, especially from Oakley (captain marvel). There was, once again, a lot of hopeful, non percentage balls played forward and hardly any spells of concerted pressure created from keeping the ball. That previous poster was right. There was ONE occasion during the whole game, ONE where Waghorn could run at Darren Moore and try and get him turned. The lack of pace at the back for them was definitely an area that we could have exploited but we couldnt because of our inability to play sensible progressive football. Anyone who saw the game would no doubt have also noticed the QUALITY OF SET PIECES delivered by Barnsley, and delivered by HUME. compared to the poor quality deliveries of Gallagher, it was hardly a surprise we were heavily tested from set pieces by Barnsley, and eventually the goal was a set piece. THEY MAKE UP A HUGE PART OF THE GAME and need to be addressed. I would also say that the lack of goals is now becoming a serious problem, and this stems from the inability of players to a) get on the ball andbe comfortable with it and b) produce a quality final pass To my mind i can only recall two games this season where we have scored more than 2 goals in a game and this is putting an already fragile back four under immense pressure to keep clean sheets. In the early part of the season, we were squeaking through games on the back of the defense being tight, but i dont think you can underestimate the damage caused by the 5-1 at Forest. Hopefully Solano can be the man to pull the strings and give us the quality deliveries

I don't mind our fans giving Hume a cheer before the match but for fcuks sake, not while he's on the field as an opposition player taking a corner against us! Some of our 'fans' are utter cretins
Simi Posted 27 January 2010 Posted 27 January 2010 Passionless. Barnsley is full of little fvcking freaks. Agreed, last time I went there were loads of them crawling the streets with their White Ace and shit clothes. And I'd just like to finish off by saying this: Those of you who booed us off tonight, you are an absolute fucking embarrassment to both yourselves and this club. It was absolutely shameful to hear and the lot of you should just fuck off to your nearest dual carriageway. I'll bet you were the same wankers who went "HUUUUUME" all game and did it again when he was announced man of the match AGAINST US and FOR BARNSLEY. Complete cunts. We're better off without you. Absolute morons, why do they bother? Cannot for the life of me understand why he's such a fooking God at this club. the guy left us after we were relegated, sure he scored goals for us but he left us for Barnsley, a club with no ambition. In the long-term we will be better than them. He wasn't up for the fight and took the first bus out. Can't beleive people cheered his name when he was awarded MOTM.

I don't know the ins and outs of his transfer since I was away on holiday that summer, but I always thought he wanted to stay but since he was one of the few saleable assets in that squad Milan decided to cash in on him. That said, I will never know why he has a God-like status amongst sections of our fans.
lou Posted 27 January 2010 Posted 27 January 2010 Disgraceful on and off the pitch by some. Rushed around like a blue-arse fly to get there to watch that shower of shite. Nearly 900 miles, 300 quid and 3 defeats in ten days.... total crap. Saturday could be very embarrassing, only bonus being plenty of time to get shit faced in the pub before kick-off, which I fully intend to do! Luckily there was some good company on the night to make up for the lack of football!

Longslade Lad Posted 27 January 2010 Posted 27 January 2010 Like everyone else who went, I was bitterly disappointed with last nights display but have had a couple of further observations. When our game at Doncaster was frozen off I went to see Barnsley play Middlesborough and was struck by some similarities last night.Boro played Barnsley off the park in the first half and lead 1-0 ,but Barnsley got right onto them in the second half and scored from a left wing corner then got a winner from the bloke who scored against us.The significant point was how effectively Barnsley closed down all over the pitch, hence Wellens and Oakley both having particular stinkers. The other point is on team selection,Pearson knows full well that last nights team ,like last Saturdays was nowhere near his first choice. His gamble, that didn't matter on Saturday but went badly wrong last night ,was that we'd get away with giving game time to fringe players and keep key men like Fryatt and Howard fresh for a very busy month. The big risk is that we'll get into a losing run with consequent loss of form and confidence that will ruin our season. I'm still with him and expect ,in true Leicester tradition , a dramatically improve performance from a completely reshaped side against Newcastle.
