Guest Mee-9 Posted 16 February 2010 Posted 16 February 2010 should have stuck with it - jacobellis just blew it again, hilarious - epic fail She bailed? Was it a bad one?
Guest Mee-9 Posted 16 February 2010 Posted 16 February 2010 Luger just took a right hammering on a corner, But somehow managed to stay on her sledge.
Lillehamring Posted 16 February 2010 Posted 16 February 2010 She bailed? Was it a bad one? yeah, she made a right mess of an early jump in the semi and went out of bounds... i laughed too soon, as the norwegian fell in the final and came 4th gutted...

Doing a few repairs to the luge track. I thought when the woman nearly came off, She was gunna smash over the side! Was hilarious.
Jordan Posted 17 February 2010 Posted 17 February 2010 Meh.Not overly fussed about tonight's hockey score. The US deservedly beat us with little effort. The 3-1 is a fair result, the Yanks were simply quicker at any given point in the game, more present and much more skilled on an individual basis (hardly a surprise with 23 vs. 2 NHL pros in line). Although, there's one point of criticism:They still have to settle as a collective - there's too many single-action plays coming from the boys in red, white & blue. We might as well already give up now - but not after giving Norway a beating. Canada's way out of reach for Switzerland in this tournament. I will thus settle for 3rd place in this group A. I'm not overly fussed about tonight's hockey score, either My biggest gripe isn't about individual play, but rather about physical play. From the beginning, it was clear that this game was going to be a hard-hitting affair, with lots of contact along the boards and little in the way of odd-man rushes. For the most part, the USA did a great job, but I was very much disappointed with the way Patrick Kane and Phil Kessel played. They were never in the game and were not assertive on the puck (or off of it). They're two of our three biggest offensive threats, and we're really going to need some more from them when we play the other Big Six teams. Right now, watching USA and Japan locked in a big women's curling battle that really shouldn't be Also, very disappointed in our television coverage for not moving the camera a few sheets over to give me updates on how Ludmila Privivkova and Russia are doing. Canada vs Norway in hockey follows, and although everyone expects a romp, I'll still tune in because the atmosphere at the start of the game will be incredible. Russia vs Latvia is a really late one (or early, depending on where you are); I think the first puck drops at 9 pm Pacific/12 midnight Eastern/5 am GMT. However, if you want to see one of the most dynamic team sport players in the world, you ought to watch Alexander Oveckhin play. He's big, fast, has great hands, plays with reckless abandon, and always makes something happen when he's on the ice. Ovechkin's on the same level as Kobe and Rooney, and if you haven't seen him play yet, you really owe it to yourself to watch Russia at least once during this tournament. yes. and deservedly so, for no one should ever be allowed to win anything dressed in such horrific 'trousers' What?! Those garments are glorious!

Fox You Forest Posted 17 February 2010 Posted 17 February 2010 Women speed skaters are hot! They're everywhere in all events, except the German athletes. That Canadian figure skater last night was stunning and she fell too, If she needs a physio....

Guest Mee-9 Posted 18 February 2010 Posted 18 February 2010 The Snowboarding Halfpipe is excellent! Good to watch. Waiting for double luge. Skeleton starts tomorrow. (19th)
SOCCERROO FOX Posted 18 February 2010 Author Posted 18 February 2010 Double male luge just looks wrong
Lillehamring Posted 18 February 2010 Posted 18 February 2010 bit disappointed with the medal haul on the cross country sprint - norway had 5 of the 12 finalist and managed a gold and a bronze, decent i suppose but felt they could have had a field day.
surrifox Posted 18 February 2010 Posted 18 February 2010 I'm trying to watch this and get into it...but tbh every event i've tried to watch so far is bloody boring and awful. thank God for that I thought it was just me . There's only so much watching people sliding around on snow and ice that I can sustain- especially when UK is so shit at it despite all the practice this winter

SOCCERROO FOX Posted 18 February 2010 Author Posted 18 February 2010 In the short track speed skating heats there's a German called Peter Herman The girl that won bronze in the cross country was brilliant she 3 ribs in warm up struggled thru the quarters and semis just getting thru both and she won bronze and was in so much visible pain sums up ehat the olympics is about for me
Tilley Posted 18 February 2010 Posted 18 February 2010 Speed Skating is the only thing worth watching in this joke of an Olympics, not a patch on the summer games.

maddog Posted 18 February 2010 Posted 18 February 2010 The downhill skiing and snowboard cross is pretty amazing. And i've got an unhealthy fettish for the curling.
Jon the Hat Posted 18 February 2010 Posted 18 February 2010 I love the winter olympics. It is madness isn't it? Brilliant madness.
shen Posted 18 February 2010 Posted 18 February 2010 The hockey match between the Czechs and the Slovaks was absolutely scintillating! What a great advert for the sport. It's unfortunate that only two of them and Russia will go through as they looked excellent tonight. Especially veteran Jagr was a joy to behold. Also, did anyone see the first Swedish goal against Germany? I'm no expert on ice hockey rules, but how was that not a penalty on the goalie?
