davieG Posted 5 March 2010 Posted 5 March 2010 I think this guy should get his head down, shut up and concentrate on improving his game. From Sky Leicester City's on-loan defender Ryan McGivern is keen to compete for a place in Manchester City's first team when he returns to Eastlands at the end of the season. The Northern Ireland international has impressed with his country, while also doing well during loan stints with Morecambe and the Foxes. However, he told skysports.com that he now wants to make a name for himself under Roberto Mancini and force his way into Manchester City's star-studded side. "If you are good enough then you are old enough and the new manager, Roberto Mancini, is starting to hand a few of the young boys their debuts, so it does excite me for when I return," said McGivern. "Obviously, I'm focused on helping Leicester have a strong end to the season first, but after that I'll go back to Manchester City stronger for the experience. Massive club "It will be hard to break into the side, but nothing in football is easy and I know that I will have to dig in and when that chance comes along I know that I have to take it." Leicester have adjusted to Championship football with relative ease after storming to the League One title last season and are well placed for a top-six finish. But McGivern is surprised at how well the Foxes have done, adding: "I expected this club to be fighting to stay in this division rather than aiming for a top-six finish. "But this is a massive club with a great following and some quality players here, so it doesn't surprise me that much. "We have been around the play-offs from start to finish really, so hopefully we can continue with that and earn a top-six finish

Cobbo Posted 5 March 2010 Posted 5 March 2010 I cannot believe how deluded this boy is. Chris Powell is better than you Ryan and he is now 40 years of age! Take the hint! (which is a hint of Blue Square North at best, by the way)

FoxyPV Posted 5 March 2010 Posted 5 March 2010 Man City are more likely to put in a £15 million bid for Berner than play him! Would you take £15million for Berner? The boy is quite clearly not all there and his international form hasn't been great either

The Padster Posted 5 March 2010 Posted 5 March 2010 What a door-knob. I'd be amazed if this kid could break into a wet paper bag let alone Man City's "star-studded" squad.
Joe. Posted 5 March 2010 Posted 5 March 2010 Really do not care. The sooner the season finishes the sooner we can be rid of him... if he finds regular Championship football anywhere I'll be amazed.
Liamlcfc1 Posted 5 March 2010 Posted 5 March 2010 what a TWAT he thought we would be fighting for our championship status thats why he is not in the team go back to Man City idiot

He really is not very good and needs to concentrate something achievable I'm thinking non league to be honest.
Hitesh Posted 5 March 2010 Posted 5 March 2010 Well we'll see him on loan to Plymouth next season then...
Guest Posted 5 March 2010 Posted 5 March 2010 To be fair to the lad, he's not going to go along for an interview and say "well, things haven't really got going for me. Only had one decent game, and then the rest I would rather forget about. That's really going to bugger up my chances when I return to Eastlands, but at least I'm thankful the Man City fans are so far oblivious to my plight".
Jimothy Posted 5 March 2010 Posted 5 March 2010 This is hilarious! The lad is still young, and I don't doubt he can have on ok career if he knuckles down, but he needs to drop down to maybe League One or Two and prove he can cut it there for a season or too. Becoming a regular for Leicester City let alone Manchester City is a long way off for him at the moment.
lcfcadam Posted 5 March 2010 Posted 5 March 2010 Personally I'd LOVE to see him taking on Valencia, Walcott and co. in the Prem next season - would be a good source of amusement methinks...
J.Lisemore Posted 5 March 2010 Posted 5 March 2010 How this guy is a pro, i don't know. Hes been utter shite from day 1.
Guest Bilo Posted 5 March 2010 Posted 5 March 2010 Is it April 1st already? Where did those four weeks go? I'm confused. Seriously, there's more chance of me winning Miss World while Ashley Cole winning Husband of the Year than this lad becoming a Man City regular next season.
Rich Fox Posted 5 March 2010 Posted 5 March 2010 He seemed so shit when he played it was like he had a vendetta against us and wanted us to go back down.
Dan Posted 5 March 2010 Posted 5 March 2010 Jesus christ, I was hoping for some top ambition at really improving his game and hoping he can push Berner all the way, instead I read this. To be fair, even the likes of Adam Johnson won't get into Man City's side, despite him costing big money and me dreading the thought of McGivern facing him. It really is no co-incidence Berner's first game back was the start of our unbeaten run.
