Derby post match

This is the game where our promotion ends. Cardiff, West Brom, we lose both of them. Blackpool by then overtake us.

Face it, we're done. Completely embarassing.

Woah! Calm down sailor. We've still got enough games to turn this around, we can do Cardiff over and the Baggies 'll be a tough 'un but I'm reckoning we can grind out a draw on that one.

We never do things the easy way do we :giggle:

I rekon we will win one of the next two though and still be fine.

Exactly, this is Leicester. When do we ever do things the easy way ?!

Keep the faith. :scarf:

Pearson not talking to the media tonight, Craig Shakespeare will do the interviews.

Hopefully Pearson is giving them the bollocking of their lives and making them realise they've not reached the finishing line yet.

Flanimal please just stfu. If we didn't put the ball in the goal for them, they wouldn't have. Both teams were poor.

The goal didn't bother me as much as the performance. Those kind of howlers happen to the best keepers, and it's not as if Weale makes them often. I'm just surprised no one on the City side stepped up and showed some desire.

Having had a few minutes to cool down, it means the team have something to prove against Cardiff.

Very dissapointing. We HAVE to win on tuesday now but i can see us having a bad spell. We are still in a great position but i can see the wheels coming off slightly.

The sublime :

I have been reading the foxestalk boards for many years now, and even during the relegation season (and the ridiculous reactions that came with it!) i have yet to post so here goes!

We are 6th in the Championship. 22 months ago our football team was relegated from the same division. Perspective is a word that comes to my mind... But we are where we are. People will say "but we were 4th", etc. We were, and I genuinely still believe that we will finish this season in that position. At half time at coventry I thought we had peaked too early, and i was correct. This is our dip in form before getting to the play off final (and thats pot luck anyway!). If forest, cardiff, swansea or even blackpool or sheff united have a dip in form now, they are gone and its too late for them to return to top form. I wish I had put some money on todays result because i had a feeling we weren't going to win today. Again, this is our dip. We will lose, or snatch a draw at cardiff, and draw with west brom, returning to our best. We needed this dip or we would fail in the play offs. Its not possible to maintain such a high level of play for such a prolonged period of time. We will still do this.

To all the moaners out there, please just stay away. we really don't want you. I know you enjoy misery and enjoy having something to moan about and i totally understand that, but please can you go to the BBC forum, or some other similar, to do so as then you can all agree with each other in your doom and gloom.

There's 7 games to go and we need everyone to pull together and support everything that the team do. If Nigel picks kermorgant again, then so be it. If its mcgiven, so be it. In nigel we trust.

yet more knee jerk reactions

"brown not fit to wear the shirt"

"kermorgant useless"

"oakley should be stripped of the captaincy"

etc. etc. etc.

Calm down people, so we've picked up 1 point from 9.

no-one can keep going well all season - Forest started well but collapsed recently.

WBA and Newcastle have gone on (admittedly short) poor runs at some point in the season.

Cardiff fell to bits a little bit after they blew a 4 goal lead at peterborough.

Just one thing though. If Kermorgant plays then he really needs to play up front with waggy/gallagher etc. playing of him, not the other way round. If he has to play between forwards and midfielders then play howard or N'Guessan - someone who can win the long balls foward.

Still 4 points clear of 7th with a game in hand - we don't have to be relying on others to slip up, the play-off spot is still ours for the taking.

Welcome to the forum Josh.

I admit, my post there is ridiculous. If you want to shoot bullets at me for that one, I'll take them. I was just enraged and pissed off, needed time to cool off before I posted! Apologies.

Fair enough.

Less knee-jerk and more perspective required, thats all.

Why do we have these god awful runs of utter shit?

Once our confidence is knocked everyone says we will 'respond' but we never do, just play shit for a few more games until we magically can be arsed again.

After the shit 2nd half v Cov & against reading I just knew this would happen (a dull, drab, borefest) which is why I didn't bother going.

We'll be lucky to be in the play-offs after our next 2 games.

Having time to cool off, we only need to win three to clinch.

Peterborough is win-able, when we play there they might be relegated, so little to fire them up. Watford is win-able too, simply because they might not have a lot to play for when play them. And, I really fancy Middlesborough for similar reasons. I really don't want to go to the last game, though.

did anyone else think team selection today was a bit odd.... you dont think NP is off to the trees/sheep or the sky blue scum next year?

Strange how certain posters only come out of the woodwork when we hit a bad patch.

It's like they get off on the fucking misery.

Abit disappointing to lose today, especially on the back of the defeat in midweek. 1 in 9 isn't a great run and the next two games away at Cardiff and West Brom are going to be very tough.

I think putting things into perspective, this time last year, Leicester City were sat top of the table in League One, scrapping to get out the first time of asking. If I had the time i would find the topic and where people thought Leicester would end up at the end of this, most said they would be happy with mid table.

6th is where they currently are and yes, okay, before the Coventry match it was all looking pretty sat in 4th, 8 clear of 7th etc but lets just be sensible about how far the team have come.

I just don't think there is strength in depth once you get passed the starting XI. Ok, Fryatt and Vaughan are injured, but no team in the Championship should be relying on Steve Howard to come off the bench to get you a goal and as for Yann Kermo, the least said the better.

Stil except a top six finish.

Wtf? :S

did you not notice i had 'sarcastic' lock on.... its like caps lock but you only find it on city fans keyboards with a GSOH!!!

sounds like a dating post now!!!!!

They've responded several times. I understand you're pissed, but Leicester won't win all the games, the Championship table speaks for itself, we're there for a reason. Surely Leicester won't go 7 games without winning at least two of them.

I've over-reacted like you have done, but when I've reflected on it, I realised I was being a shit. My concern isn't so much that they won't make the play offs (although, I'm starting to wonder!), my main concern regarding Leicester City is if they got in them, would they have the desire to do anything to win them. Play offs is an achievement, but you want your team to go there with aspirations of victory.

After having time to calm down and reflect, Although we lost on Wednesday we all thought we'd carry on and beat Derby we haven't and at least this result now makes us fans (And more importantly hopefully the players) will realise where we are and realise how much work there is left to do.

Although it's still 'in our hands' personally now I think getting in the playoffs is as much as a lottery as the playoffs themselves.
